Just thankyou for taking me along with you on that mountain. You Inspire me to drag my 60 year old bones to those peaks I've been dreaming about all my life. Heading Lake Land in may 2025. Thankyou again.
If you’re terrified of heights don’t do it - my husband is the same and did striding edge on Helvellyn - vertigo became very intense and it was very dangerous, not worth it especially on an edge with no alternative like sharp edge. Striding edge does have a lower path that you can opt for. Be safe!
I did sharp edge last year.....considering im scared of heights I was proper pleased with myself for taking a few deep breaths, and taking it slow an completing it to the top safely....not long after I did it someone fell off down the gully and never survived. just goes to show these places are no joke....well done Abbie x
Abbie, your videos are so well filmed and professionally edited. You do an amazing job. Well done for tackling Sharp Edge - and with a camera in one hand! Thanks for sharing your enjoyment of the mountains with us.
I hear a serious bit of sadness in your voice. 😢 I've never seen someone be so real. But i know what you mean... These mountains are a great escape, but makes day to day life harder when you think about all the places better you could be. I hope you've found happiness since this video! I've been doing so much solo walking myself since watching your videos and it's brought me so much more joy to my life. Thank you❤
Can I say I looked for you today as a little pick me up for my own struggles, and you have come through ! We're all human and we give to each other every day and in every way. Keep on Keeping On !
Hi Abbie, thanks to you my daughter and I did our first hike the week before Christmas it was so hot. I live in Australia it was an awesome walk. We are starting to plan our second hike. Thanks so much. And I love your videos
Fantastic climb, thank you for taking us with you! Im just getting back into walking to get fitter. At 66 I am just sticking to relatively gentle walks of 5 to 10 miles.
Hey Abbie, My sister got me into your channel, and I'm really glad you did. You're such an inspiration and a real natural in front of the camera👍🙂 It takes huge strength to be so honest and open about your struggles in life. Keep the great videos up. Peace and freedom to you, Ed x
Great video, my sister, brother-in-law and I decided we'd do this on our next trip to the Lakes and when I looked at Facebook later you had done this that day so it felt like an omen! I was a lot less confident than you though, but it was an amazing achievement for my sister as she doesn't like heights
Thank you for this video. It's nice to see what it looks like from the top but I felt sick watching every second of it. My other half wanted me to walk up here. As someone who's terrified of heights it's a resounding no. Well done, great video!
I could listen to your voice all day , it's so soothing and relaxing, you should do podcasts 😌 another great video , can't wait to get back in the lakes
Thanks for letting us join you on your adventures, l feel great when I go up in the hills behind my house and walking round Margam Park. Stay safe and well xx
how have I only just found your channel!! Have done striding edge before and found it very scary! I really want to start solo hiking but am too nervous! I am in awe of you!
Loved that what a great walk. Im not sure if the music was louder than normal as i found it a bit distracting. Even so, great content. Cant wait for the next.
I’ve watched a few videos of people tackling Sharp Edge, and every time, my legs faint. Not sure Sharp Edge is one I’ll ever be ready for. Respect to you young lady 👍🏼✨
I live in the lakes and have ascended blencathra via sharp edge many times, it always looks more extreme on the videos than it does in person hahaha, I suggest you at least have a look at the start of the route in person because it’s such good fun, if you still don’t fancy it, you can always bail. Just tackle it in dry conditions, have fun!
Between this and Crib Goch, you are climbing some impressive knife edges! Those corduroy ridges might be called "spurs" in the U.S., with cols or ravines between them. They are a good way to get to a summit, and sometimes they can get worn and eroded into a ridgeline like that. You are really good at managing the rock scrambles -- I would have been much slower, if I could handle it at all.
I love it ❤ one for my bucket list since watching your video's I av climbed snowdon and scarfell my next one is gonna be ben nevis thank you for your inspiration xxx
Well done! A really cool video and the channel, Subscribed! I've done it yesterday via Sharp Edge and it was pretty much scary considering my hiking level. Apart from that when I thought most difficult part is already done in the end of the ridge, I turned accidentally a bit left, climbed some time along the almost "vertical wall" and realizing it's wrong I slowly moved back (And moving back was even more dangerous)! This is almost a suicidal part of my hike, if there could be just one slip - 200 meters fall almost vertically down to the lake from the higher point than most of the ridge.
Well done , I’ve done this many times. Shame someone went to the effort to climb the mountain then thought it was a good idea to vandalise the circular trig point ! I struggle to evaluate some humans 🥲
Mountains truly are an endless source of adventure i never even knew existed. I took up climbing / hiking last year when global events showed me how futile my career ambitions are. Recently climbed striding edge and still buzzing.
Thank you for this video, Abbie. 🙏 It is wonderful to watch on a cold January night here in Colorado.(it is only -12.8 C 🥶) so hearing how warm it was at the beginning of your hike was actually nice. 🥰. Having a waffle 🧇 for a snack hopefully made getting up early worth it. 😆
Thanks for your videos, there helping me with my anxiety , I was posting videos but deleted them due to my anxiety ( strange I know) , now I have no videos lol, but you have gave me motivation again and am currently preparing for some trails , when the weather is slightly warmer though, thanks abbie so much
One of my favourite fells. I climbed from Threlkeld last year via Halls Fell Ridge. On reaching the summit, I descended to Scales Tarn and back up Sharp Edge. I think you’d like that route. Although like you I felt Sharp Edge was over too quickly and was almost tempted to go round again. Stunning stunning place. Thanks for sharing.
I once met someone whose friend died from a fall from Sharp Edge. It's nice to see there's plenty of alternative routes. Great filming. I kept thinking 'she'll have to do that again once she's gone back for her camera!'
Awesome.... You've inspired me lots Just had first trip to lakes Climbed 1st peek ..catbells scary but awesome Thanks abbie so much you rock ! X alison and dennis brewer
Did Sharp Edge last summer, in the wet, by accident. 🙄 What a different beast it is then! The slate has no adhesion whatsoever. The part before the bad step was unwalkable. I made it, but it was uncomfortable. I need to revisit this year in the dry for a better experience. 🤗
As if I wasn't considering visiting the UK already... Very nice looking climbs and views. Full concentration being a stick in one hand, a camera in the other and a camera bag dangling in front of you. You're as surefooted as a mountain goat :D
Abbie you are the bravest soul imaginable.Few years ago I added Blencathra to my list having done it the easier way.Would love to do it again via Sharp Edge though.Would be a thrill
That last spanner in the works was too wet for us to do. We had to climb a fence through someone’s land and go on to the a66. Will definitely do Blencathra again on a day with good weather.
Great video! And wow you made Sharp Edge look easy - I had to turn back at the narrowest point because I didn't trust my footing, the rocks felt too slick to me and I couldn't bring myself to take those last couple of steps. But next time I'll make it! I know what you mean about not being ready for it to be over - I'd have been tempted to go round and do it again :-)
Abbie - ace trip. I so wish someone would put a proper trig point cairn on top of Blen.C. And a shelter. I like to exit north back out over the back of The summit and head right to Skiddaw Bunkhouse then Cumbria way back over Skidda and follow Cumbria way back round to Threlkeld. The Edge in the snow is a challenge and a good day out if you know what you are doing. The red fox brewery in Keswick is a good place for a beer after. Take care.
Brilliant film - so good to see the mountains - thanks! I had a walking trip planned in the Lake District which got cancelled due to the pandemic. Definitely hope to reschedule in the future!
Great walk and great video. A lovely day for it to. I've seen another you tuber do that in the dark! I don't do heights to well so I'll have to build up to that one!
😁 Abbie that was a great hike with one of the best known grade 1 scramble routes in the Lakes. A perfect day and always better to have an early start. Lots of 360 panaramic views to be had. I noticed there is plenty of water sources along the route and potential wildcamp spots 👍 Thanks for continuing to be inspiring with heartfelt messages throughout all your videos 😁 Stay Wild 👍
You make things look so easy, i bailed on sharp edge because i didnt feel agile enough haha, thought i'd be on my butt more than my feet. Great video, lovely place to be🏞🤘
Another great video with stunning scenery as always. Have just finished watching another vlogger doing the Edale Skyline, young man called Alex Cripps, well worth watching
Superb vlog Abbie! The scenery is stunning and you've captured it perfectly. Thanks for taking us with you on this one. It can't have been easy taking on Sharp Edge juggling a stick and a camera! 😊 As always you are a true inspiration. Stay safe Stay wild!
Well done Abbie. But to anyone watching, never attempt this climb in poor weather. I witnessed a guy fall to his death a couple of months ago a site I’ll never forget. It’s not the toughest scramble, but in wet weather it is lethal.
I've climbed blencathra About 4 times, I've never done Sharp edge though. And as Someone who Is native to the lake district, Yes that's what it's like even the start.
I like the trail food! Gas station Brussels Waffels. Mountains are a great excuse to eat highly carbed trash. My favorite way to indulge in trashy food is to hike penitently up :) Got me to some amazing peaks.
Just thankyou for taking me along with you on that mountain. You Inspire me to drag my 60 year old bones to those peaks I've been dreaming about all my life. Heading Lake Land in may 2025. Thankyou again.
I would definitely like to climb a mountain via an edge but I genuinely feel terrified even just watching you do it lol. Great video Abbie keep it up!
It's not as bad once you're up there especially on this one. On a nice day it's so freeing on this edge.
If you’re terrified of heights don’t do it - my husband is the same and did striding edge on Helvellyn - vertigo became very intense and it was very dangerous, not worth it especially on an edge with no alternative like sharp edge. Striding edge does have a lower path that you can opt for. Be safe!

I fell on Sharp Edge years ago, my rucksack caught on a rock and stopped me falling to far. Been up twice since but always weary of it. Great video 👍
Hi Abbie, thanks to you my daughter and I did our first hike the week before Christmas it was so hot. I live in Australia it was an awesome walk. We are starting to plan our second hike. Thanks so much. And I love your videos
Wonderful. Brilliant video and infectious enthusiasm for mountain hiking 👏
Fantastic climb, thank you for taking us with you!
Im just getting back into walking to get fitter.

I always enjoy watching your videos :-) you have such a lovely personality
Such wise words for someone so young.I really hope you always have sunny bright happy feeling days 🌼

you are a documentary makers dream , eloquent and knowledgeable and funny , so like Mr Attenborough.
What a lovely day to be up there. Early mornings are definitely the best way to avoid the crowds.
Great video as always.

I needed this today. Hiking is such a salvation. It makes the rest of life manageable. x

Great video,we’re due to walk this in may,but not via sharp edge, take care 👌🏻
Hi Abbey, what an amazing and courageous young lady , I so enjoy watching your RUclips channel 🙂 take care and stay safe 💝😊🏴 xxxx
Lovely sentiments Abbiie... Your channel is great! 🙏❤
Looks a great route that, one to add to my list! Great video as always, many thanks!
Loved that what a great walk. Im not sure if the music was louder than normal as i found it a bit distracting. Even so, great content. Cant wait for the next.
Hello Abbie.. One of my favorite places in the country. You make it sound so easy to climb. Thank you for the memory.. Regards Mick.. X

Wow! I wouldn’t dare to climb that mountain! Great job! 🤩 lots of regards, Iris from Germany
That was brilliant. Not gonna lie, that ridge freaked me out a bit. Lol. Thanks, Abbie. 👍🙂🧇
Thank you so much for sharing. Your love of the outdoors is so infectious (love of early mornings not so much )
fantastic, first person ive ever seen make it look easy :)
Well done Abb love the video
Well done , I’ve done this many times.

Really nice words at the end .... and amazing walk
You are wonderful, great vid, you must be in top form to have done that so fast!
Cool video, am going on Saturday ✔️
So impressed. I’ve spent years being terrified of this. Maybe this summer.
Yay Blencathra, did it years ago a thoroughly enjoyable walk.
Another outstanding video Abbie.
Excellent video thanks for the upload and sharing the experience. New subscriber
Welcome aboard!
Someone nicked the original ordinance trig point of that , so I was told when I went up halls fell ridge in August last year.
Did Sharp Edge last summer, in the wet, by accident. 🙄

Brilliant video Abbie as always x
Lovely video abbie, strong message as always.
Another awesome video! thanks for sharing!
My goodness Abbie you are brave, I would not fancy that climb. Great views though xxx
Did this in the snow when I was 14 with 2 experienced climbers. Looking back it was pretty sketchy.
Another great video with stunning scenery as always. Have just finished watching another vlogger doing the Edale Skyline, young man called Alex Cripps, well worth watching

its a lovely steep climb from Scales but once you turn into the valley its so peaceful
Fantastic walk, will be tackling that one later this year! Stay Wild 😝
Enjoyed that, thanks
I enjoyed this climb but like you I agree the edge wasn't long enough
Great filming my legs would be jelly wobblers by the sharp edge , i would never make it would need refreshments in the Pub.
AWESOME!!
Is it as good walking down, if coming up via Halls Pass? - or more thrilling going up? thanks
Well done Abbie. But to anyone watching, never attempt this climb in poor weather. I witnessed a guy fall to his death a couple of months ago a site I’ll never forget. It’s not the toughest scramble, but in wet weather it is lethal.

Try Halls fell ridge on the other side next time that is a much longer scrabble
Hi Abbey how would you rate the edge walks between crib Ghoch, striding edge, sharp edge?
Inspiring, well done and thank you 🤗
Enjoyed that .... well filmed as always. The ridge just to the west, Halls Fell I feel is even better but doesn't get the credit for it.
Fantastic video, which would you say is more difficult, Striding Edge or Sharp Edge? Many thanks
Sharp Edge:)
