- Idaho… never heard of it. At least that’s what Brady says. But for those who have heard of Idaho, this episode is all about how to plan, prepare, and research for Idaho’s general season deer and elk tag sale date that is coming up quickly. There’s a lot to unravel if you want a tag in Idaho and the guys break it down. Plus, application season is officially here, and they talk about other important states and break down common application terminology.

THIS is the podcast I've been waiting for. As someone who is a delayed-onset hunter and never grew up in this world, having a breakdown of the terms and lingo and processes is a lifesaver. Thanks Fellas!
Can you all do a video on getting meat back east for someone that has to fly out west (3 day drive for me)… getting meat, skull/antlers and even possibly cape home. How to find honest processors? Shop or fly it back? Elk/mule deer….
LMAO... Brady said exactly what I was thinking... WTF are you guys talking about TS? 🤣
Deer number in ID is not poor, it is horrible
Brady, would LOVE to see how you do predictive analysis to see at what age you’d draw ‘x’ tag. That would be be beyond helpful for someone like myself just starting out.
Please do this!
Brady’s face when he looks up at the start 😂
Yes, you can buy a Deer and Elk tag at the same time.
31:00 the number of NR has not changed, they've just been slightly spread out. Idaho has had the same number of NR elk tags for many years, prior to the new allocation system going into effect
I auto-renewed my license last night, and got in queue at 9am to secure my spot. #44,351 - This is just brutal. Is the dream dead before it even started?
Trail asking the right questions!
Great video guys
Thanks Guys!! Good Luck.
I’m an idaho resident I personally don’t think they should sell their non resident tags on December 1 they still have hunts going on and they don’t have all their harvest reports back, and they don’t know winter kill? Why not sell them at a later date?
Later date and maybe a points system for DAV tags so some vets get a chance to
They should push the DAV tags to seventy percent
Showing up in person is 100% not a good option vs trying online. On the day Non-res tags go on sale the entire IDFG sales system goes into snail mode. The terminals vendors use are constantly timing out on all transactions, even for Resident purchases on fishing licenses etc. On top of that you are running the risk of having someone at the store selling you your tag that doesn’t know how to navigate the system. Every click they make leads to a spinning wheel of death for a prolonged period of time. If they click on the wrong button and have to navigate back it’s added time to the process.
the Idaho Black Friday sale. Was lucky and able to get two bull tags this past season and filled both of them.
Thanx
10 AM! Santa's Coming!
Lorenzo needs to come hunt whitetail in Iowa.
I introduced my brother and his two boys from the Midwest to mule deer hunting in Idaho this year. All of them were successful in getting a general mule deer tag and I wasn’t. I tried unsuccessfully every month prior to the season to get a returned or leftover tag for a specific unit. But, I still needed to and really enjoyed going on the hunt with them. In addition to the very frustrating issues with the draw system, I met two non-residents and one resident who all had a second tags in their pocket. Why would you(Idaho Fish and Game) want to give people an opportunity to get two tags when others can’t even get one? 🤯
I love hunting ID it’s much better than UT.
Can you buy a tag for someone else who can't be online that day?....ie Can a resident go to a F&G office and purchase the tag for their nonresident friend?
No.
Yes, I moved from Idaho (no longer a resident). My buddy still lives there. He walked into Sportsman's Warehouse on Dec 1st last year and bought my license and tag for me. I recommend having an account already set up. Your friend will need your hunter ID#, driver's license #, etc. He just put me on the phone, and I gave it to the worker
@@TGriffiths86I tried and was not successful
Brady waiting to talk business. No taylor swift BS
Swiftly fans, nooooooo! 😆👊🏻
Option 2 - Hunt elsewhere!
i wish you guys would QUIT instructing people how to to buy tags. QUIT commercializing hunting. QUIT making it a rich man sport. people cry about how hard it is to get a tag.... well it gets worse every year, and its because of companies like this.... advertising for and making money on a natural recourse.
Mule deer also extinct in West 😢
Impossible to even get a tag for elk except Colorado
Not true, there are plenty of places you can almost always get drawn
