Wonderful interview. Same as Troy: I was back in the day when I'd pull the numbers off the daily newspaper, plot physically on a chart until that weeks chart came in the mail and start over. It was a great learning experience for sure.
Very hard to take away anything useful from this one. You should to push interviewee's for deeper responses and if they're unwilling then why interview them.

Listen to Linda Bradford raschke she gives all kinds of helpful specific trade entries and exits and indicators and strategies, something you can really start to work with to make it your own. I don't believe that strategy performance report that went straight up. The best traders in the world have drawdowns.
Thanks for your reply. Yes on a back test it could go straight up with curve fitting or not accounting for slippage, etc. Trading that strategy in real time will not produce that straight up result. It is deceptive. @@DesireToTRADE

@@Dhunatmik Totally agree! I use these backtest results to trigger my next step. I'm always skeptical. This is one backtest only, out of countless others. This is one of the steps I use to build a roster of stock and ETF symbols where I use the stock chart to trigger options trades. The backtest is just an early step. I'm always paying attention to the risk fo curve fitting.

@@DesireToTRADE At the time it was all we knew so we just rolled with it.
I was printing charts and using rulers to identify head and shoulders, inverse, head and shoulders, flags, pennants etc.

Could be the case for one single pair in one specific backtest. For an entire portfolio, the results won’t be straight up.
