@@PhilBrindley Cheer Phil, will do and will definitely share a running video. This is a super underrated rig I guess, the thought that the designers put into it really put the consumers in the centre of it all. It has everything!
@@PhilBrindley ah yes I have had a little trim here and there on mine and it makes all the difference - am running Proline Hyrax 1.9's and only get a minor rub on full lock on full load as it were. Great vehicle and for a RTR as well!
How well does the 2-Speed work !?? I am disappointed with the AXIAL SCX10 III's gear ratio in 2nd Gear !! Also can the SHERPA shift to 2nd gear on the fly !?? (while moving)?? and down to 1st as well !?? I love those tires !! DeepWoods 😁 - Good video of an awesome looking Crawler/Scale 4x4 !! - I look forward to see more videos, thankyou !!! 🙂👍
Thank you! The second gear is pretty fast, around double the speed of first. With the stock motor I think I clocked it at 7mph for 1st and 13.5 for 2nd. With the crawlmaster and the same pinion it's around 8.5 and 16.5 if memory serves me. I don't know how that stacks up against the axial or what you want, but hopefully gives you an idea of the difference in gearing. 🤙
Hi Paul, your other comment seems to have disappeared, but I still rate this truck pretty highly, especially as a trail truck. Absima have made a few changes to it recently but I'm not sure if these would carry through to the RebelRC version. It was good out of the box, and it's shortcomings were easily fixed. I'd say wheels, tyres, some brass and new shocks would be the 'must do' mods and the rest is down to personal choice. Cheers. 😎🤙
Thank for such a nice comment. There's a whole series on my channel about the changes, but in short... - Weight in front wheels and brass portal covers. - Desert Lizard shocks set soft in a droop config - Removed the roof rack (made a surprising difference, but I had filled it with scale bits) - Louise CR-CHAMP tyres and hair bun foams - Hobbywing 1080 ESC - Holmes Hobbies Crawlmaster Sport motor The motor and ESC didn't make it climb any better, but do allow for better/smoother control. I also only run 2200mah batteries so as not to add too much weight at the back. Hope that helps. 🤙

These were cheap from eBay. About £35 for the full set. They are 1.9 and fit over the wheel weights if you grind the weights down a little on the edges.
Hi Phil, discovered your channel last night, great series I'm going to replicate a lot of your upgrades and was wondering where you got the skid plates? I have been beating it up for a few months and have already bent the steering link so feel that's a necessary first upgrade.. Cheers!
Hi, the skid plates were from ebay, but they are cheaper on AliExpress. Search "YK4102 steel". prices range from £15 - 30. You can also get a set of Absima branded ones, but they are a little me expensive. Welcome to the channel and thanks for watching. 🤙
Very nice and cinematic feel on the video! I do have one question: what shock size did you go with? 90mm as stock or higher? Man, it looks way more articulated than stock and the truck really looks like it follows the ground pattern (surface) better. Cheers!
Thank you! The shocks are the standard 90mm size. Set up in a soft semi-droop setup, with 400cst oil. They are perhaps a little too soft, so I may have a play with a mix of the medium and soft springs at some point, but for now I just want to enjoy driving it 😁. 🤙

Hi. The Louise champs are a 1.9 tyre and are slightly taller than stock tyres. They do not fit on the Sherpa wheels so you would need new wheels as well. The wheels are just from eBay and cost about £35 for the set of 4. Because they are bigger they tend to rub the wheel arches a little, so you may want to trim the arches down a bit. Hope that helps. 🤙
