  • In this video we take a look at the first Star Fox game that released on the Super Nintendo. Going through the basic story and gameplay mechanics we review the game to see what my opinion on it is, to see if it is worth checking out in this day and age!
I've worked really long and hard on this video and would really appreciate you guys to like and leave a comment on what I could improve upon in future videos! Don't have anything planned as of posting this video, but I look forward to making the next one even better than this one!

I also love the rewind feature because I'm not good enough to get through these old games all the way through so it makes it so I can experience the whole game. I am also a '90s kid but I never got that into Star Fox more of an RPG / action adventure guy

It was the first shooting game I seriously played and completed. Originally, I wasn't interested in shooting games, but
Star Fox was captivated by a mysterious charm.
Even if the game is over many times, it's probably the result of playing with the belief that you're almost there.
Character communication was also unusual at the time, and I enjoyed it.
I am convinced that it is a timeless masterpiece.

I was a kid when Star Fox was new in 1993, i can't explain it, but it was like seeing the future. Loved the game, still love it today and play it occasionally on NSO.
You're right that the CRT filter really does lift this game up.
I will say one thing though, ok, 2 things
    1. Star Fox controls just fine on the D-pad and works great with the SNES pad, this was a pre-analog 3D game and it's a rail shooter so you only really need to move in a 2-D space on your screen.
    2. The backdrops and art direction in the first game is still amazing. The clouds with the moon looming on the horizon on Fortuna look great to this day.

They took the art direction so far with simple polygons and great pixel art for the backgrounds. Just so amazing!

Fun review/recommendation for 2024, bud. Watching your gameplay footage and your gripe with obstacles being ridiculous, I believe I have the answer. Your footage never shows you barrel rolling or tilting with the shoulder buttons. I know you said the game uses all the buttons, but a majority of what you ran into could have been avoided by just pressing the R or L buttons. Great video and I'll keep an eye out for your other work!

Tbh, I forget to barrel roll a lot… Thanks for looking out!

Yes. Always. Try the Homebrew/Hacks as well. One of them can do 60fps on SNES hardware.

I did hear about this hack recently, and am willing to try it out!

I love the first Star Fox, even though I never grew up with it. Wish Nintendo would do something that wasn't remaking this game with some strange new gimmick lol
It has it's issues, I think the visuals and games add to the charm (: I've never had problems with aiming as some do, but in 64 i turn off the recticle lol
Good video! Despite knowing most of this already, you made it interesting
And on the controls, it's gotten me too used to inverted flying lol. Camera controls are inverted on most games i play now, and I've only had it for a few months too!
I'll probably update my thoughts when I get out the bath.

Thank you for watching, I worked really hard on this one! I played Star Fox about a month and a half ago and just instantly fell in love with it I just had to share my thoughts on the game! Like I said in the video I look forward to playing other games in the series!

I grew up with Starfox and got amazingly good at Starfox 64 (like perfect combo entire stages kinda good) and when you held up those games, saying "I'm so excited to start them at some point." I was SO relieved to see Starfox Adventures wasn't in your hands. Like, I love Starfox, don't get me wrong. But you can VERY safely skip adventures. Even as a giant fan of the series that one tested me.

What if I told you I own Starfox Adventures but don’t have the case for it (I intend to play it but I know it will most likely suck haha)

I like adventures but it really isn't a real Star Fox, it's just Zelda with furries. If they didn't add the SF skin and it stayed as Dinosaur Planet it'd probably be more well liked. It's a fun game, just wish it wasn't forced to be Star Fox! It's like a sonic lost world situation

@@qwerty_9537 good thing I really like Zelda. I’m going into adventures knowing well that this game is the black sheep of the franchise, but nonetheless will try to enjoy what the game is trying to offer (even if it’s just a Star Fox skin plastered onto a completely different game)

Star Fox Assault is the only non gimmicky Star Fox game ever made so far, don’t know about Star Fox 2, but the first Star Fox game had the FX chip, Star Fox 64 had a rumble pack, Star Fox Command had touch screen controls, Star Fox Zero had motion controls, Star Fox Adventures was originally a Nintendo 64 game Rare was working on called Dinosaur Planet, Star Fox Guard was a mini game Star Fox Zero came with.

    • @Franklinstein18

I’m very interested in Star Fox Assualt. Though you could say it’s gimmick was adding ground foot-based combat if I’m not mistaken
