    Great tutorial, but I would probably eq before compression in most instances. Keep up the good work.

    Do you recommend using EQ plug ins on channel tracks or just use the pro channel EQ?

    • @AudioSorcerer
      @AudioSorcerer  11 месяцев назад +1

      The pro channel EQ is fine for most applications. If you have to do more surgical stuff, then something like the Slate Infinity EQ will get you where you need to be. 👍

    how do you add more available modules to the ProChannel? I've seen other people's list, like your. I have Bark of the Dog and I have Panipulator. You'r show up on you ProChannel's Module list, but not mine.. they are both located in ....\Cakewalk Shared\Internal but they don't show up on the Module menu? Any Ideas? any one? (it's always so quiet when posing questions here)

  • @HeroMike17
    @HeroMike17 3 года назад +1

    The FX Chain Module can be used to watch over your proper gain staging (between the PC modules) because is has faders. You can also use "normal" VSTs to get them into the ProChannel Chain.

    • @sergioandresvahos281
      @sergioandresvahos281 Год назад

      Please explain me. It`s better do the gaing staging while you are recording? Or its better do that later?

    • @HeroMike17
      @HeroMike17 Год назад +1

      @@sergioandresvahos281 On recording just avoid hardware clipping. this can't be fixed later. Don't take gain staging too serious. Just remember having an eye on clipping busses while mixing. have fun

      @@AudioSorcerer After insane amount of time invested in searching for perfect one :
      I've opted for MASCHINE - I know : it's simple, has 2 dedicated controllers Jam and Pad controller : it's by far the fastest way to compose a track : and its a live performance platform as well. When I finally became a power user, I cannot switch to anything else anymore, once one breaks the ice ❄ It's like wow this thing can do everything : so MASCHINE wins for now

    So i get how inserts work from using my ol faithful studiomaster 16-4-2 and the 4 bus send/return channels. I remember using the cakewalk daw before the prochannel. So i have never used a major consol like an ssl etc. So my question is. Is the prochennel supposed to emulate i guess the channels of an ssl with its onboard channel compressors and such. Its a wonderful addition i think. But sometimes i find myself questioning the prochannel.. like "ok well i have my insert chain and aux/bus routes if i need.. so at that point my brain thinks,, "why the prochannel"??

    • @AudioSorcerer
      @AudioSorcerer  10 месяцев назад

      I think the ProChannel's biggest benefit is it saves on CPU power since it's built into Cakewalk. Is it the best analog emulation out there, probably not, but it's still pretty darn good!

    IPS: Inches per Second. So glad the CA2A is back, not that I mind the Analog Obsession LaLa. KInda wish that I had understood just what was under the hood here before I started to greedily acquire and hoard all of the free plug-ins I could.. Talk about option itis. Now I rely on the prochannel 80 % of the time treating it like an old console days, not that I was ever lucky enough to use anything super sexy, giving most of the mix a rather uniform sound Saving the character stuff for very specific things and situations.

    • @HeroMike17
      @HeroMike17 3 года назад +1

      Are you sure? I thougt PC2A is back, not the (newer) CA2A. PC2A has no VST (Pro-Channel only) and NO sidechaining, but the sound is incredible, too...

    I guess you mostly work with protools these days? Also i heard CbB has issue when one does orchestral work and that the midi editor slows with lots of tracks basically, you know if that true? Or maybe you don't do orchestra work with high track counts? Thank for the video.

    • @AudioSorcerer
      @AudioSorcerer  3 года назад

      I do most of my work in Pro Tools. I haven't heard of the MIDI editor slowing down. I have some medium size Cakewalk sessions with slot of virtual instruments in them and they run fine. You can always freeze your tracks.
