Well spotted! I just did a replay, you are correct about the induction cooktop! I'm hoping they turn the 820 into a mini 920 with the added off-grid features. Hoping they offer a non-black tank option too with something like the Tiny Separett toilet (dislike black tank and being reliant on finding dump stations (and paying to poop ;-)
Good question! There is something about a diesel truck. Don’t like the MPG drop on gas engines. The durability and longevity of the powerstroke is just superior to a gas engine imo!
@@OurFulltimeAdventure nice and thanks for the comment. I thought there is more maintenance on the diesel engines ? DEF issues and fluid , clogged parts on the engine ?
Congratulations on the new setup! Interested to hear why you didn't go with the 920 considering you bought enough truck to handle it. Looking forward to the new content.
Good question! We love the 820 platform and see ourselves going with the 920 in the future but we have some exciting plans for the truck that we wanted an 820 for!
@@OurFulltimeAdventure that nice. Seems that’s the MPG range for most trucks. Your new truck is beautiful, love the flat bed and box options for space ! Although , I do ask why you didn’t swap bumpers with your old truck before you sold it ??? Your old number would have looked so sick on your new truck, blacked out. Lovin’ your videos, peacefrom510.
So happy for you guys! We met most of the NuCamp family while we were shopping for an 820 at the Hershey RV show in PA last year. Will you guys be at the Tampa show in January? We've got our hotel booked already. Looking forward to your comparison vids. We are looking at a Chevy 3500 or 4500 dually. Very interested to see how you deal with the space between the cab and the camper on the flatbed. Congratulations! 🎉🎉 -western NY Troy & Aimee
Thank you! We feel great, ready to get out and adventure ones we get a few more things done :) thankfully we were not in the path, but definitely not far off. So heartbroken for everyone affected.
Just Wow! Really, your contents are awesome. I like you. But why haven't you SEO optimized your channel and videos. If SEO is optimized then your video views, subscribers will increase. Because your content deserve more. Best of luck!
I’m a new subscriber. Love the energy you both bring. Congrats on the new rig. I’ve been on the fence between an 820 and the 920. No truck yet. So far just checked out the F350. So definitely interested in some future content about real world experiences.
Love love love our 820 but it depends on what you’re doing in it. Planning on going fulltime or just wanting it to get out and adventure? Would you be looking into an F350 dually or single rear wheel?
@@OurFulltimeAdventure 2 people traveling in retirement. Max 1 month off-grid travel at a time. F350 SRW is the preference, but know we would need a dually if moving to a 920. Trying to figure out what limitations the dually would bring versus the 920 pros. Sorry for the long ramble. Also can you encourage NuCamp to offer non black tank toilet options to allow off-grid. We like the Tiny Separett toilet. Oh, and an induction cooktop option with the larger Lithium pack :-) Cheers.
That sounds fun! There have been people who removed their toilet and added a composting toilet. We removed all of the propane from our 2017 820 and made it fully solar, induction cooktop and all. Heating is hydronic diesel heating and it works great. All it would need to fit your criteria is a composting toilet!
Oh and I bet you are so happy to step up to that 48 gal tank over the short bed 34 gal tank. I always wondered how that little 34 gal tank got you through the super remote parts of Alaska you were in last summer.
Awesome news!! I'm assuming you'll be switching the Alde over to diesel?
The Alde won’t be diesel! Stay tuned to see what this 820 is!
Great set up… I didn’t hear in your video why you went to the 450 for the new set up?
Just for the increased capacity and all that!
Thank you.. I was asking cuz I was thinking about doing it solely for the better turning radius ….
The turning radius is also a game changer for sure!!
Are you going to get rid the dually wheels and get super singles for the new rig?
We were going the super single route at first but we stuck with duallies for a few reasons we will go over in a future video!
Nice. F-450 chassis cab? Is it a 9 ft bed?
Thank you! It’s a 9.5ft bed!
@@OurFulltimeAdventure Cool. Plans for side boxes and a garage in the future?
Definitely have some tricks up our sleeve
So is this new 820 custom made unit? Coz I see there are induction cook tops.

Good observation. It’s a fully solar 820 similar to our current 820. Stay tuned for a tour!
It’s basically a mini 920 like our 2017 820. Definitely would be cool with a composting toilet!
Why not the 7.3 V8 ?

I’ve heard insurance on this type of rig/setup is outrageous. What say you?
It’s not too bad. Just insurance for the truck and camper. We use State Farm for the truck and progressive for the camper!
Congrats guys! That set up is a beast!
Thank you! We love it 😊
are you going to be selling your old rig?!? Asking for myself ;)
Yes we are!! If you want more details please DM us on Instagram :)

@@OurFulltimeAdventure Super Single???
Down the road ! Loving this dually stability
What engine did you get in the 450?
The same 6.7 powerstroke that’s in the F250! It’s just a bit detuned compared to the F250 since it’s a cab chassis
Do you know the Gas mileage difference between the two ? Would be interesting comparison ! Thanks
I think they’re about the same at around 11-13mpg!

They’re the best! We aren’t sure if we will be at the Tampa RV Show just yet!
This is so exciting! I’m looking forward to all the updates! 💖

How’s the ride/drive on the long wheel base 450?
Such a game changer! Rides like a “Cadillac”.

We’re hyped about the larger tank. The cab chassis is only 40 gal though! There was plenty of fuel stations in Canada and Alaska!
