I felt exactly like Dr. Chaffee mentioned Though I'm not overweight always went to bed tired and woke up tired, I could not go out without my glasses on, I could not look directly into people's eyes, and my husband constantly told me I look tired and always cut him off by saying we have 4 kids what do you expect and after 2 weeks on carnivore I feel better than in teenager years, I give all glory to GOD.
You’re going to feel like that if you lost weight, and cut the bullshit out of your diet regardless of whether you go carnivore or not. You’d probably feel 99% better just getting your diet down to salads with chicken breast, but Paul is most certainly right. Over time, your hormones are going to tank, your sleep will suffer, your muscles will demand potassium. Meat and fruit is vastly superior to a strict meat only diet.
Dr Chafee was the man that convinced me to do carnivore and Saladino convince me to add fruit and my life has been improved thanks to both of you. I really enjoyed this and I want to express immense gratitude for what you both do. Absolutely love both of you. Keep Doing what you’re doing.
Saladino is the guy that got me into carnivore. He was actually a carnivore when he wrote his book and made his first 50 or so videos. Chaffee completely debunked saladino and is the guy that got me away from fruit and back to a true 100% carnivore diet. And I felt much better since.
Dr Saladino is a psychologist, he knows nothing about the damage done to the body by fructose and he is pulling his stupid theory out of his hat, most probably to justify his addiction for sweetness, which is borderline criminal. Now that you have listened to him because he tells things you like, listen to physiology researchers like prof Bart Kat or clinicians like prof Wesmann, they'll teĺl you some uncomfortable facts about fructose and the Randle cycle.

On most of the planet fruit is seasonal with its main purpose being to fatten us up to survive winter. And yes, modern fruit is so much different than nature intended.
Our ancestors would have ate seasonally when UV was higher to deplete deuterium which is higher in fruits. Excess deuterium can gunk up the nanomotors of the mitochondria. Being outdoors in good uv is a way to deplete deuterium. When you are eating fruit during the mid winter at a low uv index being mostly covered up and indoors, you are messing with one of the most important systems in the body. Paul is hanging out near the equator getting baked with excess sun and doing extreme amounts of activities. This will help keep the system, when consuming large amounts of fruits. Regular people living in upper latitudes need to be very smart about consuming fruit, honey and starches all year.

When Dr Chaffee says all his aches pains 'allergies' etc went away when he stopped eating vegetables I wholeheartedly agree with that statement. Because it happened to me also when I went mostly carnivore. I feel a lot better, all the little naggy aches pains afflictions etc have vanished even, for the first time I my life!, all my sugar cravings are GONE. I don't even want any of those 'keto' snacks. One of the biggest problems I see in society is our failure to intentionally work on improving our emotional reactions to the disagreements of others with our opinions and beliefs. Embracing disagreement, welcoming skepticism, and responding to criticism in an amicable, respectful, and honorable manner is so important. This is one of the main reasons I find your information so credible. You should consider branching out and collaborating in discussions of some other topics outside your fields of expertise. That would be cool.

So glad Dr. Chaffee mentioned that adding fruit, honey and juice can be really dangerous for people with carb and sugar addictions. I added honey to hot water and lemon for a couple of days because I had a really sore throat with a cold and cough. It was enough to make me start really craving sweets of all kinds again. It would be disastrous for me to add any sort of sweet tastes to my diet.

Ah, yes. I agree. Clearly no thyroid problems from plants in this interview. I used to have Hashimoto's flare-ups all the time when I ate plants that caused me a lot of depression, anxiety, anger issues with a short fuse, stomach bloat from gas buildup that caused leaky gut, and vitamin C loss causing other nutritional deficiencies. I'm feeling amazing on carnivore eating primarily ruminant animal meat. Ruminant animals that eat their ancestrally appropriate diets have the most nutrition. Remember ppl fall off carnivore when they don't take enough fat. When you start out on carnivore, you have enough fat for your body to burn thro. When your body has burned thro this fat, you must take in enough fat otherwise you fall off. You're replacing carbs with fat, not protein - that's the idea. If you eat 8 eggs fried in an excessive amount of tallow everyday, and dousing your meats in excessive amounts of butter; if you're eating butter, drinking ghee everyday; you'll do well on carnivore. It's a fat diet, not a meat diet

@@86londonbeen carnivore for about a year, I have a place called wild fork near me. Not fresh it’s frozen and packaged meat but they have organs elk all sorts of weird cut steaks. Very cool spot. But anyways I buy a 1lb pack of liver that I eat over a week and a half to 2 week period occasionally heart and my day to day is 1.5-2lbs of grass fed ground beef and a grass fed steak. The steak is a Brazilian cut called picanha, it has a big fat cap. I can buy a 2.5-3lb grass feed slab for 40 bucks and I cut 7-8 steaks that I eat throughout the week. I meal prep the steaks and liver on sundays so they’re all ready to go for the week.
49 year old female, very active my whole life. Tried no meat 2 years, no processed foods ever and I don't eat sugar: tired, weak, achey all over, gassy 24/7, muscle loss, anxiety through the roof, cognitive ability declining etc. 1 MONTH CARNIVORE: gained 5 pounds of muscle, more than doubled the weight I am lifting, core is solid as a rock, more solid than my 20s, no back flab at all (I am perimenopausal), mind and focus clearer, and anxiety is disappearing, joint pain decreasing. Same!!! 45, perimenopausal, was primarily plant based for about the last 20 years. Add fibromyalgia. I started this diet in March, and have had the same experience you described. I have never felt so good. Best decision I’ve ever made.
I was primarily on a plant-based whole-food diet with a minimal amount of lean meats occasionally for over two decades. During that time, I developed hypertension, diabetes and other less severe disorders. After going keto for a few years and now carnivore, I managed to reverse my diabetes completely (HbA1c 5.2 & low F insulin) and normalised my blood pressure reading. Any form of sugar like fructose is a big NO NO for my weight gain, sugar spike and insulin spike.
What were you eating. I'm opened minded. But when I see people discredit plant based because they went on some processed Unhealthy Vegan diet packed with Omega 6s from Seed oils, soy and other processed junk like it's the same diet just seems disingenuous to me 😂 For that don't know. You can reverse Type 2 and improve Type 1 on plant based to the point you can be eating carbs 300+ a day depending on how much lipid cell detoxing you need to do to regain some insulin resistance. I don't fully subscribe to anything because I'm always trying out different things. Fruits, some Vegetables & Meats seem to do wonders for people as long their not processed of full of toxins and neuro toxin pesticides.
@olenicholls900 Yep. I believe the push for everyone to eat a plant-based diet is driven by financial gain and personal agenda rather than a genuine concern for public and environmental health. My own experience, along with others who have adopted a meat-heavy diet with very little to no plant sugars and toxins, has shown that we were able to reverse the chronic health issues that we developed while eating a predominantly plant-based diet to improve our health.

I was mostly vegetarian from about age 17 to 50. Worst mistake I ever made. I did eat eggs, cheese and yogurt but was not getting enough good fats (was also doing vegetable oils). When I added meat my hands and feet stopped being cold all the time and I felt stronger. Now I am 68 and mostly carnivore and fruit. Getting lots of good animal fat. My nerves have never felt better.
Welcome to the club. I was vegan for 18-years. Same thing: cold hands and feet, depression and anxiety. What I learned from it is to avoid the extremes. So I stay away from carnivore which I think is the flipside of vegan. I eat a traditional diet. Foods processed and prepared the way they always have been.
@@AnneMB955 sure. I was inspired by the great book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration by doctor Weston A Price. A classic from 100 years ago still published and read today. Also the Weston A Price Foundation does great work today. Basically, there's incredible wisdom in how our ancestors prepared food ....whether they were in Alaska, Eastern Asia, Africa or Europe. Key takeaways are fermenting, soaking or sprouting grains and seed foods including beans. Meat, milk, saturated fat and cholesterol are all nutrients and very good for you. The importance of the fat-soluble vitamins A, D & K2. Raw and fermented dairy. The inclusion of fresh fruits and vegetables. Cooking or fermenting many of the veggies that are trendy to eat raw today. Eating liver. They were ahead of their times on most of the above topics and all the influencers on RUclips get a lot of their information from the book and the foundation.
You've just made me realise my ice vegan extremities have normalised since eating meat..... (I did add back in carbs recently after 3 years of carnivore. Was great at first but seemed to go downhill after a while)

This is like Iron Man vs Captain America Civil War. Both helped me tremendously on getting me on carnivore diet and it changed my life. So far I’m on Chaffee’s side but major respect to Saladino.
I was on Chaffee's side too, but it's just not sustainable long-term for most people. I watched every video of his for a year, doing Carnivore/Ketovore, then I started to feel terrible. After adding in fruit and honey, I feel so much better. I like getting my electrolytes from real food instead of supplementing like a lot of Carnivores do. Everyone needs to do what works for them, though.

@@dougroberts3643 Wow, Doug! You sound like me, although I only lost 20 lbs the whole time. You definitely need to add back in some carbs. Most likely, it's due to electrolyte imbalances. Watch Dr. Saladino's past videos where he talks about he did strict Carnivore for 1.5 years and then he had no energy due to electrolyte imbalances. He said no matter how much supplementing he did, he didn't get better until he added in the fruit and honey. With fruit, you're getting electrolytes from real food instead of supplementing like most of the Carnivores do. So, I was the same, getting worse and worse, with no energy and I could barely exercise. Now, I feel so much better, exercising again, my weight loss is starting again and my blood sugar is actually lower now than it was the whole last year doing Carnivore/Ketovore. After cutting bananas, my favorite fruit, for a year, yay they are back in my diet. It has to be raw unfiltered honey too, a few tablespoons a day. New studies are also showing that long-term ketosis can actually raise cortisol and increase insulin resistance. I've seen other doctors too talk about staying in the state of ketosis is very stressful on the body long-term. Check out Carnivore Dad Bod's channel too, Shawn. He was also Carnivore for over a year and got very lean and muscular, but then had no energy. After adding in fruit and honey in his recent videos, he's doing so much better with his running he says. He's 58. The other thing that really affected me was a comment on one of Dr. Chaffee's videos, where the guy said he was a 15-year strict orthorexic Carnivore and then he got very sick with the electrolyte imbalances. He mentioned he had the dark sunken eyes... as a sign of nutrient deficiency. I think you can start to see that now with Dr. Chaffee and you can definitely see it in Kelly Hogan, and especially with the supposed "40-year Carnivore" Rick Rodriguez who looks really bad with his dark sunken eyes. You can search his name on RUclips if you don't know who he is. So funny, he's also been commenting on Shawn's channel recently that he's going to add in more fruit 😂. He comments as ChargerMopar if you ever see him commenting. I think the biggest problem with Carnivore is that it's just not sustainable long-term for most people, If only from boredom alone. Obese, hemorrhoids, idiopathic constipation (my colon literally stopped working when I turned 40 & I’ve had 6 surgeries to remove up to 1/2 of it), non-alcoholic fatty liver, gingivitis & periodontal recession, depression, insomnia, plaque psoriasis, psoriatic & rheumatoid arthritis, plantar fasciitis, tinnitus & hearing loss, lethargy, vision issues, knee’s & hips hurt, Thoracic spondylosis disc degeneration from C3 to C7. I’ve only ever eaten 2MaD with no breakfast meal (aka “intermittent fasting” WAY BEFORE it became en vogue). In my 50’s? I switched to 1MaD. @5’10”? 160lbs In my 20’s 170lbs in my 30’s 180lbs in my 40’s 190lbs in my 50’s 200lbs in my 60’s After studying the matter & seeing the anecdotal evidence?. I’m a week into a cold-turkey adoption/adaptation to an Ovo-Lacto-Carni (eggs, butter, cheese/cream, & beef only) 1MaD regiment as a 3-month experiment. Same dirty vegan for some years, now strict carnivore since 2 weeks. Gastrointestinal problems increased, but I guess it needs to fat adapt a few more weeks :/ hope that I will have more energy then. Skin improves, but I feel so bad (guess it’s the colon)
I have a ton of respect for these two guys. There are also others I follow and I really enjoy these conversations. This is about our health, and wellbeing which is so valuable to us yet still some are brainwashed by the big food industries.

Meaning my strength was up but I wouldn’t be able to last as long with secondary/auxiliary movements that come afterwards. Adding some fruit and honey back into the mix helped with that. At the same time I’d get zero brain fog on carnivore. So that was good. But don’t go by me either, figure it out yourself!🙂
Been waiting for Dr Chaffee to come on your podcast for a while :) I followed animal based for a while, but never felt as good as Paul seems to feel. I got rid of plants all together and I have to admit I do feel a lot better! I think it's different for everyone some people can eat carbs and some cant. Interesting. My experience is drastically different. Mine was exactly same as Paul. I absolutely need carbs. I do thrive when I eat carbs . Athletic performance, metrics , labs. Everything are perfect with carbs. Even test levels went up allot with carbs as I'm at 700 now. At 45. But I do nose to tail organs also helped with that .. not just carbs. But they did increase further with carbs

I think it's phenomenal to have these two men who are very strict with their diets and have been for years. It's interesting to see that they're both healthy and happy, even though they're not eating exactly the same. The beautiful thing about food is that we get to experiment on ourselves. I think carnivore is a great elimination diet. Then when we add things back in ( if we choose), we'll have an accurate gauge for how we feel. Listen to your body. It will never lead you astray!
I’m only at the beginning of this podcast and can’t help but comment now- to Anthony testimony on how he went from Whole Foods (not processed) to carnivore based was exactly my experience- I had been eating organic/Whole Foods for years before changing to a more carnivore based diet, eliminating all vegetables minus the fall squash and summer cucumbers. I was AMAZED within the almost immediate increases energy and leave of abdominal bloating/cramping that followed. My body comp now is better than my 20s and 30s with more muscle and less fat (I was always thin, but hard to put on muscle). At 49yo I’m crushing my physical activities and stepped up the podium with my standup paddle board racing. Thanks guys for getting the word out there! ( I eat grassfed animal beef protein, bison, elk, eggs, some wild caught salmon, grassfed yogurt, grassfed cream, ghee, grassfed butter, some ferments, blueberries & cranberries, coffee, pretty much)..this works for me. @@CasmigeIn the case of some grass fed, it’s a gimmick. But when I was buying grass fed beef from a local farm, the meat tasted a lot like liver. There was a massive difference in taste that I could easily detect. I haven’t had any store bought grass fed beef taste quite the same.

I think the best part of the discussion was the simple agreement that if something is working for the individual to keep it up. This really hit home for me and I was nervous going into it because I respect the work of both of these men immensely and didn't want to see a contentious argument between them. I hope they do more of this in the future and I hope more people benefit from the the open exchange of ideas and find relatable meaning for themselves.
You're not alone as a non coffee drinker. I've never been a coffee drinker. It is so weird the reaction I get from other people when I say I don't drink coffee or alcohol. You would think I'm saying I don't drink water.
Thanks for the discussion. We don't all have to do the same diet as we all have different needs. I crashed my hormones on strict carnivore. I am allergic to dairy so always struggled to get enough fat and calories. My doctor has had me expand to animal based and I feel so much healthier. I now take in a little of natures carbs after I fill up on meat, eggs, and seafood. I eat a little cooked veggies, cocunut products, and fruit. Also been trying to cut back on my fasting too.
I love coconut milk based sauces to increase the fat content of a pretty lean protein meal. Although I'm extremely dairy tolerant and do great with butter, ghee, and cheese. I've heard that cultured ghee is fine for people with lactose intolerance and even some with dairy allergies because the bacterial cultures denature or metabolize a lot of the compounds, and then even more are removed in the process of turning butter into ghee.
Prior to going carnivore, I was severely depressed for 8 years (I'm 22 now). Eating a piece of fruit every now and then hasn't brought back my depression, so I don't mind indulging once every few days.

A lot of people clean with up their diet (this happens a lot with people who have depression and go carnivore, such as Mikhaila Peterson) and find that their depression goes away! As for fruit and honey, I am a flat-out raving carbohydrate and sugar addict. Like a heroin-level addict. I've finally faced it. There's no need for me to test it for 30 days because no one would say to a binge alcoholic, or a heroin addict, just try it for 30 days and see what it does. We already know the answer l. To abstain. The first time I tried coffee it was the most bitter thing ever in my mouth. Even a little coffee in a cake, ice cream, or a bon bon is so bitter I cannot stand it. Now I fully understand what my body was trying to tell me. Don't eat this! The same with spinach, kale, Brussels sprouts, and green peppers; they are so bitter I cannot understand how people can eat them. I now believe it's my body saying these are really bad for you. They may work for someone else, but you cannot be eating them.

This was amazing and lesson learnt: Having been introduced to Carnivore through the other camp (ie. Dr. Anthony Chaffee/Dr. Shawn Baker/Dr. Bart Kay), I was meat and water only, and thought Dr. Saladino was way off limits. (Sorry doc :) ) And I’m doing fine so far. But I think Paul Saladino isn’t here to make controversy or to make himself popular, he just had a problem on Carnivore and wanted to figure it out. We have to remember that our understanding of any topic advances only when there are outliers and we figure out how to explain that. Thank you for that Dr. Saladino. And thank you Dr. Chaffee for the great explanations and analogies as usual.
Love both these men. Amazing amounts of knowledge have been transmitted through them. I think both are useful. Long term in hot climates working/playing outside I just can't see Pure carnivore as sustainable. I tried hard. No amount of keto drops prevented massive muscle cramps that stopped after adding small amounts of fruit.
I’ve gone through two summers now at the beginning of this summer I started getting cramps but just made sure I drink enough water and take salt. Last summer I wasn’t drinking coffee so I didn’t need to worry as much about dehydration
@@Biophotogenesis The salt isn't the issue, it is the insulin spike you need. If you aren't eating nearly all your daily protein in that one sitting then you won't get that spike.
I started carnivore and I did water beef eggs butter for 5 months. Amazing results but the diarrhea was killing me! I now eat a single piece of fruit after my meal (omad) and I don't have that problem anymore. I believe a piece of fruit cannot harm you aaaand it tastes great!
Convinced me fully with the description from his cancer class where the professor showed the level of carcinogens in veggies... I hadn't ever heard that.. I've read Paul's book, listened to Soooo many carnivores, and yet, that one anecdote just changed my life. Now... To frickin'stick to it! There were many tribes amongst Inuits, some used to eat more boiled fish, others dried fish, some almost exclusively caribou meat. Most tribes used to give entrails to domestic animals. The Fat of The Land also tells Esquimo’s macros, wich were 20% protein and 80% fat. Some tribes used to eat berries that were stored on oil to preserve them. That also depending on the tribe’s habits, that were not a broad food for all Esquimos/Inuits. Loved the talk!

Watch both of you almost everyday. When I don’t eat fruit my sleep is horrible. With 100-150 grams of carbs from fruit I sleep and feel great. With 0 fruit I get 4 hours of sleep and it sucks. I’m lifting heavy trying to build muscle, I need my sleep.
The only fruit I add is organic blueberries after I’ve eaten my fats and my meat . I start with a handful and if I feel like I have a “sweet tooth” I’ll grab another handful. My sleeping habit went from all night of tossing and turning on the SAD diet , to a full nights rest with the occasional one time to pee.
We need more discussion! Here's my perspective: Some strict carnivores may hesitate when it comes to animal-based advocates guzzling honey, fruit juice, and pounds of fruit. However… you don't have to go that far! Incorporating a banana or two into your diet, perhaps around a workout and/or towards the end of the day, might offer benefits such as improved sleep, workout performance, hormone production, and more, while still aligning with a very low-carb / ketogenic lifestyle. From my experience, hard workouts on strict carnivore make me feel extremely anxious. Perhaps I’m going hypoglycemic? Carnivore is great in every other way (besides diarrhea), except that it doesn’t seem to support strenuous exercise for me. A banana or two around workouts clears that up for me. (To be fair, I’ve never been truly strict carnivore, as I’ve always drank coffee, which is surely hurting my health). 🥩 🥩 🍌 🥩
Aches and pains gone with animal based way of eating. Sooooo true!!!! But, what I’ve noticed is the drastic change in my mental health when I go clean and animal based (I allow avocado and occasional berries). ‘Substantial’ improvement in my mental health, ability to concentrate (reduced procrastination) and overall stress tolerance. I’ve suffered from depression my whole life and it never occurred to me that my food could’ve been the cause. I recently fell off the wagon and within hours, not even days, a huge wave of depression that lasted days hit me bad; it was really intense. I think I must’ve been more aware of how depressed I was, because I finally had a period in my life that I wasn’t. So, it was far more noticeable when I ate carbs and sugar again. I’m sad I backslid, but happy I did, as it made me notice more how much harm those foods are doing to my overall health. When you feel like crap all the time, you forget or just don’t know, what optimal physical and mental health actually feels like. I’m back on animal based foods and starting to feel better already. Lighter, stronger, happier and alert! I don’t care what standard medical professionals say, the only experiment that matters is the one we do on ourselves. We know our bodies better! There’s little profit to be made in a happy and healthy species, so we need to do it for ourselves.

Fruit juice for me shoots up blood surgar.... just like a candy bar! For thoses struggling with weight and any metabolic issues ...please start testing your food reactions!!! I would love an amicable discussion between a vegan doctor and a carnivore doctor. I follow a lot of wise people and I think there are great areas and everything and so I really focus on what everyone does agree on which is processed crap seeded oil and how glucose makes you sick. Great debate. Glad to see Paul bringing up how the carnivore diet didn't work for him. I had a similar issue and had to add in starchy vegetables and fruit. I also eat low carb dairy products such as butter, cheese and 24 hour fermented yoghurt. I see no problem adding fruits and veggies in as it still aligns well with what our hunter gatherer ancestors ate. I also agree with Dr. Mcdougall that humans thrive on starch and that contributed to our human evolution a lot as well.
When I was eating processed foods, veggies and pretty much everything. I ended up having really bad anxiety. Pretty much to the point my attacks were so bad I didn’t want to leave the house. My Dr put me on medication. I came across Paul Saladino videos, so I started doing animal based diet. I started feeling so good I stop taking my medication 1 day on 3 days off. Now I only have to take it once every week. It’s amazing what this diet has done for me. Bless you both
ppl fall off carnivore when they don't take enough fat. When you start out on carnivore, you have enough fat for your body to burn thro. When your body has burned thro this fat, you must take in enough fat otherwise you fall off. You're replacing carbs with fat, not protein - that's the idea. If you eat 8 eggs fried in an excessive amount of tallow everyday, and dousing your meats in excessive amounts of butter; if you're eating butter, drinking ghee everyday; you'll do well on carnivore. It's a fat diet, not a meat diet
I’m one of those LMHR (lean mass hyper responder) so I have to eat a little carbs now and then, but mostly I eat fatty meat. 56 yo and run daily, take no medication.
Coffee IS BS... and tea, and chocolate also are. I've just discovered that my panic attacks, my anxiety, my phobias almost magically vanished when I 100% quit drinking coffee and tea (coffee was the worst). Chocolate is hardest to stop eating (it's so tempting...), but I've reduced it as much as I could - and now, every time after I give in and eat some chocolate, I'm starting to see negative effects in my nervous system... they're mild, cause I don't allow myself to eat much of it. But why I do it to myself at all?... Now I have a stronger motivation to cut out everything containing caffeine completely. It's mindblowing what food can do to us.
I have the same with chocolate and raw cacao - I think it's the oxalates - would give me almost-instant heart palpitations, muscle pain and overwhelming anxiety attack.

wonderful conversation. I definitely have addictions, coffee and sugar. I was very happy to find out Dr Saladino eats raw milk, fruit and honey. I went out and bought some beautiful honey, I ate the whole jar in one week, I break out with acne and get gas when eating dairy raw or not, I do eat a banana every evening and that seems to work well. I chose a banana because it is a low oxalate. That pretty much stopped my night leg cramps. Experiment everyone is different and also I have learned while carnivore that my body changes a lot. In the beginning on carnivore I was very strict and was glad I was. I love all these carnivore doctors, they saved my life.
While I respect the carnivore diet, I've found that an animal-based diet suits me much better and contributes to my overall health, energy levels, and zest for life. During the two months I followed a strict carnivore diet, I faced considerable challenges without any carbohydrates. While initially, I experienced a high level of energy on the ketogenic diet, it eventually dropped to a lower but more stable level, and my motivation for activities like training and learning diminished. Additionally, I developed significant constipation, occurring once every 12-14 days, despite consuming plenty of fat. I began to feel disconnected, as if I were observing life from a distance, almost as if I were outside of my own body. However, upon reintroducing fruits, milk, and honey into my diet, I experienced a remarkable shift. My mood became markedly more positive, and I regained a significant amount of energy. I felt more connected to the world around me and developed a strong desire to help others.
I'm one of those former vegetarians (4 years). I thought I was doing everything right until colitis. I ruined my gut. I found the specific carbohydrate diet, first, then keto, then, finally, carnivore in my 40 year transition to gut health.
This was a great confirmation for me. I’m eating grass fed, grass finished most of the time but I do eat angus beef steaks too. Less vegetables and now I’ll be taking less coffee. Also I’m taking 6 capsules of Beef Organs from Heart & Soil. Feeling good! Thanks Paul!
I don't use fruit as a substitute for baked sweets and ice cream. If you reset your taste-buds, you will find that fruit tastes better, because it makes your body feel better during and after eating.
I'm carnivore half of the time and 41yrs Keto but even on Keto, no veg or fruit. Cream, cheese I'm now 69 years old and in great health no meds. Thank you, both for teaching us about real true nutrition.

Interesting that some people struggle with sugar addiction when eating fruit and honey. I beat my sugar addiction (aka "sweet tooth") when I started eating more fruit because that's exactly what my body was asking for.

I find when my food is too salty, I crave sweets. But if i go more neutral with tinge of saltiness, I don't crave something sweet at all. I feel craving is more of a way for the body to balance itself.@@rachelbrondel5858
@@rachelbrondel5858 For the last year I've eaten fruit almost exclusively, but have experimented with all foods while eating this way. My preferred fruit is melon (any kind), grapes, most tropical fruits (jackfruit, mulberry, oranges) and the occasional palm full of pistachios or walnuts. Unfortunately in most of the United States you can't get many of the tropical fruits in the grocery. Otherwise, I typically avoid most other foods since they all seem to lower the quality of my digestion and do not leave me feeling good in any way. Meat and fish seems to be overall neutral to my body, neither good or bad. I don't know what it means really, but eating mostly fruit has worked for me and healed all of the chronic illness from my omnivore days. I'm always fascinated to watch Paul Salidino and his experimenting.

You’re going to feel like that if you lost weight, and cut the bullshit out of your diet regardless of whether you go carnivore or not. You’d probably feel 99% better just getting your diet down to salads with chicken breast, but Paul is most certainly right. Over time, your hormones are going to tank, your sleep will suffer, your muscles will demand potassium. Meat and fruit is vastly superior to a strict meat only diet.

Saladino is the guy that got me into carnivore. He was actually a carnivore when he wrote his book and made his first 50 or so videos.
Chaffee completely debunked saladino and is the guy that got me away from fruit and back to a true 100% carnivore diet. And I felt much better since.
Dr Saladino is a psychologist, he knows nothing about the damage done to the body by fructose and he is pulling his stupid theory out of his hat, most probably to justify his addiction for sweetness, which is borderline criminal. Now that you have listened to him because he tells things you like, listen to physiology researchers like prof Bart Kat or clinicians like prof Wesmann, they'll teĺl you some uncomfortable facts about fructose and the Randle cycle.

I think most people don’t realize that fruit today is drastically different that of fruit 100-125 years ago. Glad they had a great conversation!

On most of the planet fruit is seasonal with its main purpose being to fatten us up to survive winter. And yes, modern fruit is so much different than nature intended.
Our ancestors would have ate seasonally when UV was higher to deplete deuterium which is higher in fruits. Excess deuterium can gunk up the nanomotors of the mitochondria. Being outdoors in good uv is a way to deplete deuterium. When you are eating fruit during the mid winter at a low uv index being mostly covered up and indoors, you are messing with one of the most important systems in the body. Paul is hanging out near the equator getting baked with excess sun and doing extreme amounts of activities. This will help keep the system, when consuming large amounts of fruits. Regular people living in upper latitudes need to be very smart about consuming fruit, honey and starches all year.

When Dr Chaffee says all his aches pains 'allergies' etc went away when he stopped eating vegetables I wholeheartedly agree with that statement. Because it happened to me also when I went mostly carnivore. I feel a lot better, all the little naggy aches pains afflictions etc have vanished even, for the first time I my life!, all my sugar cravings are GONE. I don't even want any of those 'keto' snacks. Everything in your body heals! & this is after being LC for 2.5 yrs. I'm a 67 yo fit active metabolically healthy F. Meat eggs butter seafood some dairy & fruit. So glad Dr. Chaffee mentioned that adding fruit, honey and juice can be really dangerous for people with carb and sugar addictions. I added honey to hot water and lemon for a couple of days because I had a really sore throat with a cold and cough. It was enough to make me start really craving sweets of all kinds again. It would be disastrous for me to add any sort of sweet tastes to my diet.

Ah, yes. I agree. Clearly no thyroid problems from plants in this interview. I used to have Hashimoto's flare-ups all the time when I ate plants that caused me a lot of depression, anxiety, anger issues with a short fuse, stomach bloat from gas buildup that caused leaky gut, and vitamin C loss causing other nutritional deficiencies. I'm feeling amazing on carnivore eating primarily ruminant animal meat. Ruminant animals that eat their ancestrally appropriate diets have the most nutrition. Vitamin K2 from ruminant animal products was a game changer in the evolution of our brain! Jesus (Yeshua) said, "The truth will set you free". (John 8:32) "Eat split hooved animals that chew the cud". (Leviticus 11) "Good health starts in the gut". "Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food." (Hippocrates)
I love that both of these Docs believe in people..."Take charge of your health. Be empowered patients." Two brilliant doctors who are knowledgeable, great teachers, confident, caring and humble. Amazed how Dr. Chaffee can cite studies and statistics so fluently. I was a Bio major in the 1970's. These podcasts "feed my brain." By the way, Paul, I loved the debate with cardiologist Alo. (You won!) 😂 I am basically a "Chaffee disciple" but give in to seasonal locally grown (New York State) fruits and (imported) avocados a few times a week, because I unexplainably crave both. I’m been carnivore for 6 weeks blood pressure, I was grade 2 hypertension then grade 1 to High normal now NORMAL, and type 2 glucose is normal of metformin thanks 🙏 you have saved my life

@@86londonbeen carnivore for about a year, I have a place called wild fork near me. Not fresh it’s frozen and packaged meat but they have organs elk all sorts of weird cut steaks. Very cool spot. But anyways I buy a 1lb pack of liver that I eat over a week and a half to 2 week period occasionally heart and my day to day is 1.5-2lbs of grass fed ground beef and a grass fed steak. The steak is a Brazilian cut called picanha, it has a big fat cap. I can buy a 2.5-3lb grass feed slab for 40 bucks and I cut 7-8 steaks that I eat throughout the week. I meal prep the steaks and liver on sundays so they’re all ready to go for the week.

Tried no meat 2 years, no processed foods ever and I don't eat sugar: tired, weak, achey all over, gassy 24/7, muscle loss, anxiety through the roof, cognitive ability declining etc. 1 MONTH CARNIVORE: gained 5 pounds of muscle, more than doubled the weight I am lifting, core is solid as a rock, more solid than my 20s, no back flab at all (I am perimenopausal), mind and focus clearer, and anxiety is disappearing, joint pain decreasing. No gas, elimination is normal. ENOUGH SAID, CARNIVORE FOR LIFE.

Same!!! 45, perimenopausal, was primarily plant based for about the last 20 years. Add fibromyalgia. I started this diet in March, and have had the same experience you described. I have never felt so good. Best decision I’ve ever made.
I was primarily on a plant-based whole-food diet with a minimal amount of lean meats occasionally for over two decades. During that time, I developed hypertension, diabetes and other less severe disorders. After going keto for a few years and now carnivore, I managed to reverse my diabetes completely (HbA1c 5.2 & low F insulin) and normalised my blood pressure reading. Any form of sugar like fructose is a big NO NO for my weight gain, sugar spike and insulin spike.
Excess fat causes diabetes, not carbs. You didnt cure anything. The only proven way to cure diabetes is a low fat plant based diet
What were you eating. I'm opened minded. But when I see people discredit plant based because they went on some processed Unhealthy Vegan diet packed with Omega 6s from Seed oils, soy and other processed junk like it's the same diet just seems disingenuous to me 😂
For that don't know. You can reverse Type 2 and improve Type 1 on plant based to the point you can be eating carbs 300+ a day depending on how much lipid cell detoxing you need to do to regain some insulin resistance.
I don't fully subscribe to anything because I'm always trying out different things. Fruits, some Vegetables & Meats seem to do wonders for people as long their not processed of full of toxins and neuro toxin pesticides.

@olenicholls900 Yep. I believe the push for everyone to eat a plant-based diet is driven by financial gain and personal agenda rather than a genuine concern for public and environmental health. My own experience, along with others who have adopted a meat-heavy diet with very little to no plant sugars and toxins, has shown that we were able to reverse the chronic health issues that we developed while eating a predominantly plant-based diet to improve our health.

I was mostly vegetarian from about age 17 to 50. Worst mistake I ever made. I did eat eggs, cheese and yogurt but was not getting enough good fats (was also doing vegetable oils). When I added meat my hands and feet stopped being cold all the time and I felt stronger. Now I am 68 and mostly carnivore and fruit. Getting lots of good animal fat. My nerves have never felt better.

What I learned from it is to avoid the extremes. So I stay away from carnivore which I think is the flipside of vegan.

Also the Weston A Price Foundation does great work today.

Key takeaways are fermenting, soaking or sprouting grains and seed foods including beans.
Meat, milk, saturated fat and cholesterol are all nutrients and very good for you.
The importance of the fat-soluble vitamins A, D & K2.
Raw and fermented dairy.
The inclusion of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Cooking or fermenting many of the veggies that are trendy to eat raw today.
Eating liver.
They were ahead of their times on most of the above topics and all the influencers on RUclips get a lot of their information from the book and the foundation.
You've just made me realise my ice vegan extremities have normalised since eating meat..... (I did add back in carbs recently after 3 years of carnivore. Was great at first but seemed to go downhill after a while)

This is like Iron Man vs Captain America Civil War. Both helped me tremendously on getting me on carnivore diet and it changed my life. So far I’m on Chaffee’s side but major respect to Saladino.
I was on Chaffee's side too, but it's just not sustainable long-term for most people. I watched every video of his for a year, doing Carnivore/Ketovore, then I started to feel terrible. After adding in fruit and honey, I feel so much better. I like getting my electrolytes from real food instead of supplementing like a lot of Carnivores do. Everyone needs to do what works for them, though.

I'm curious as to what symptoms you had that improved after adding honey and fruit. I've been ketovore for about 10 months now. I've lost 52 pounds, but I have no energy. I'm wondering if I lost to much weight too fast or if I need to add carbs back into my diet
@@dougroberts3643 Wow, Doug! You sound like me, although I only lost 20 lbs the whole time. You definitely need to add back in some carbs. Most likely, it's due to electrolyte imbalances. Watch Dr. Saladino's past videos where he talks about he did strict Carnivore for 1.5 years and then he had no energy due to electrolyte imbalances. He said no matter how much supplementing he did, he didn't get better until he added in the fruit and honey. With fruit, you're getting electrolytes from real food instead of supplementing like most of the Carnivores do. So, I was the same, getting worse and worse, with no energy and I could barely exercise. Now, I feel so much better, exercising again, my weight loss is starting again and my blood sugar is actually lower now than it was the whole last year doing Carnivore/Ketovore. After cutting bananas, my favorite fruit, for a year, yay they are back in my diet. It has to be raw unfiltered honey too, a few tablespoons a day.
New studies are also showing that long-term ketosis can actually raise cortisol and increase insulin resistance. I've seen other doctors too talk about staying in the state of ketosis is very stressful on the body long-term. Check out Carnivore Dad Bod's channel too, Shawn. He was also Carnivore for over a year and got very lean and muscular, but then had no energy. After adding in fruit and honey in his recent videos, he's doing so much better with his running he says. He's 58. The other thing that really affected me was a comment on one of Dr. Chaffee's videos, where the guy said he was a 15-year strict orthorexic Carnivore and then he got very sick with the electrolyte imbalances. He mentioned he had the dark sunken eyes... as a sign of nutrient deficiency. I think you can start to see that now with Dr. Chaffee and you can definitely see it in Kelly Hogan, and especially with the supposed "40-year Carnivore" Rick Rodriguez who looks really bad with his dark sunken eyes. You can search his name on RUclips if you don't know who he is. So funny, he's also been commenting on Shawn's channel recently that he's going to add in more fruit 😂. He comments as ChargerMopar if you ever see him commenting. I think the biggest problem with Carnivore is that it's just not sustainable long-term for most people, If only from boredom alone. It makes me so angry when I seen videos that just say, oh, just push through it. No, there are real problems if you're not feeling well. Good luck. 🤗

Same dirty vegan for some years, now strict carnivore since 2 weeks. Gastrointestinal problems increased, but I guess it needs to fat adapt a few more weeks :/ hope that I will have more energy then. Skin improves, but I feel so bad (guess it’s the colon)

Seriously though, why go by a random stranger. I felt the same and my workouts became a little flat. Meaning my strength was up but I wouldn’t be able to last as long with secondary/auxiliary movements that come afterwards. Adding some fruit and honey back into the mix helped with that. At the same time I’d get zero brain fog on carnivore. So that was good.
But don’t go by me either, figure it out yourself!🙂

Been waiting for Dr Chaffee to come on your podcast for a while :) I followed animal based for a while, but never felt as good as Paul seems to feel. I got rid of plants all together and I have to admit I do feel a lot better! I think it's different for everyone some people can eat carbs and some cant. Interesting. My experience is drastically different. Mine was exactly same as Paul. I absolutely need carbs. I do thrive when I eat carbs . Athletic performance, metrics , labs. Everything are perfect with carbs. Even test levels went up allot with carbs as I'm at 700 now. At 45. But I do nose to tail organs also helped with that .. not just carbs. But they did increase further with carbs
@@isaactrevino7821 ppl fall off carnivore when they don't take enough fat. When you start out on carnivore, you have enough fat for your body to burn thro. When your body has burned thro this fat, you must take in enough fat otherwise you fall off. You're replacing carbs with fat, not protein - that's the idea. If you eat 8 eggs fried in an excessive amount of tallow everyday, and dousing your meats in excessive amounts of butter; if you're eating butter, drinking ghee everyday; you'll do well on carnivore. It's a fat diet, not a meat diet
I think it's phenomenal to have these two men who are very strict with their diets and have been for years. It's interesting to see that they're both healthy and happy, even though they're not eating exactly the same. The beautiful thing about food is that we get to experiment on ourselves. I think carnivore is a great elimination diet. Then when we add things back in ( if we choose), we'll have an accurate gauge for how we feel.

I’m only at the beginning of this podcast and can’t help but comment now- to Anthony testimony on how he went from Whole Foods (not processed) to carnivore based was exactly my experience- I had been eating organic/Whole Foods for years before changing to a more carnivore based diet, eliminating all vegetables minus the fall squash and summer cucumbers. I was AMAZED within the almost immediate increases energy and leave of abdominal bloating/cramping that followed. My body comp now is better than my 20s and 30s with more muscle and less fat (I was always thin, but hard to put on muscle). At 49yo I’m crushing my physical activities and stepped up the podium with my standup paddle board racing. Thanks guys for getting the word out there! Ok, now I’m going to listen to the rest of this..🙌🫶

@@CasmigeIn the case of some grass fed, it’s a gimmick. But when I was buying grass fed beef from a local farm, the meat tasted a lot like liver. There was a massive difference in taste that I could easily detect. I haven’t had any store bought grass fed beef taste quite the same.

I have to say, I love Paul’s humility. I would trust what he says just because he is not afraid to say, he was wrong, he does not have all the facts
I think the best part of the discussion was the simple agreement that if something is working for the individual to keep it up. This really hit home for me and I was nervous going into it because I respect the work of both of these men immensely and didn't want to see a contentious argument between them. I hope they do more of this in the future and I hope more people benefit from the the open exchange of ideas and find relatable meaning for themselves.

Thanks for the discussion. We don't all have to do the same diet as we all have different needs. I crashed my hormones on strict carnivore. I am allergic to dairy so always struggled to get enough fat and calories. My doctor has had me expand to animal based and I feel so much healthier. I now take in a little of natures carbs after I fill up on meat, eggs, and seafood. I eat a little cooked veggies, cocunut products, and fruit. Also been trying to cut back on my fasting too.
I love coconut milk based sauces to increase the fat content of a pretty lean protein meal. Although I'm extremely dairy tolerant and do great with butter, ghee, and cheese. I've heard that cultured ghee is fine for people with lactose intolerance and even some with dairy allergies because the bacterial cultures denature or metabolize a lot of the compounds, and then even more are removed in the process of turning butter into ghee.

Prior to going carnivore, I was severely depressed for 8 years (I'm 22 now). Eating a piece of fruit every now and then hasn't brought back my depression, so I don't mind indulging once every few days.

@@Danny-zm5rh Lol. Yeah, I get it. But eating a crappy diet apparently throws people's hormones which can lead to depression. A lot of people clean with up their diet (this happens a lot with people who have depression and go carnivore, such as Mikhaila Peterson) and find that their depression goes away!
As a 26 year old, the only thing that made me happy as a kid was tv :P I think it's just the nature of having toxic parents--the little things are what help you hold on

As for fruit and honey, I am a flat-out raving carbohydrate and sugar addict. Like a heroin-level addict. I've finally faced it. There's no need for me to test it for 30 days because no one would say to a binge alcoholic, or a heroin addict, just try it for 30 days and see what it does. We already know the answer l. To abstain. The first time I tried coffee it was the most bitter thing ever in my mouth. Even a little coffee in a cake, ice cream, or a bon bon is so bitter I cannot stand it. Now I fully understand what my body was trying to tell me. Don't eat this! The same with spinach, kale, Brussels sprouts, and green peppers; they are so bitter I cannot understand how people can eat them. I now believe it's my body saying these are really bad for you. They may work for someone else, but you cannot be eating them.

This was amazing and lesson learnt: Having been introduced to Carnivore through the other camp (ie. Dr. Anthony Chaffee/Dr. Shawn Baker/Dr. Bart Kay), I was meat and water only, and thought Dr. Saladino was way off limits. (Sorry doc :) ) And I’m doing fine so far. But I think Paul Saladino isn’t here to make controversy or to make himself popular, he just had a problem on Carnivore and wanted to figure it out. We have to remember that our understanding of any topic advances only when there are outliers and we figure out how to explain that. Thank you for that Dr. Saladino. And thank you Dr. Chaffee for the great explanations and analogies as usual.
Love both these men. Amazing amounts of knowledge have been transmitted through them. I think both are useful. Long term in hot climates working/playing outside I just can't see Pure carnivore as sustainable. I tried hard. No amount of keto drops prevented massive muscle cramps that stopped after adding small amounts of fruit.
Why keto drops why not simply taking salt?
I’ve gone through two summers now at the beginning of this summer I started getting cramps but just made sure I drink enough water and take salt. Last summer I wasn’t drinking coffee so I didn’t need to worry as much about dehydration
I tried just salt too of course. Keto drops have more electrolytes plus very convenient to add to water.
@@Biophotogenesis The salt isn't the issue, it is the insulin spike you need. If you aren't eating nearly all your daily protein in that one sitting then you won't get that spike.

I started carnivore and I did water beef eggs butter for 5 months. Amazing results but the diarrhea was killing me!
I now eat a single piece of fruit after my meal (omad) and I don't have that problem anymore.
I believe a piece of fruit cannot harm you aaaand it tastes great!
Maybe you eat too much butter/fat? Beef and eggs mostly do opposite to me
Switching to carnivore should be gradual over 4-6 weeks; microbiome needs that transition- after that every bowel movement will be perfect

There were many tribes amongst Inuits, some used to eat more boiled fish, others dried fish, some almost exclusively caribou meat. Most tribes used to give entrails to domestic animals. The Fat of The Land also tells Esquimo’s macros, wich were 20% protein and 80% fat. Some tribes used to eat berries that were stored on oil to preserve them. That also depending on the tribe’s habits, that were not a broad food for all Esquimos/Inuits. Loved the talk!

Watch both of you almost everyday. When I don’t eat fruit my sleep is horrible. With 100-150 grams of carbs from fruit I sleep and feel great. With 0 fruit I get 4 hours of sleep and it sucks. I’m lifting heavy trying to build muscle, I need my sleep.
The only fruit I add is organic blueberries after I’ve eaten my fats and my meat . I start with a handful and if I feel like I have a “sweet tooth” I’ll grab another handful. My sleeping habit went from all night of tossing and turning on the SAD diet , to a full nights rest with the occasional one time to pee.
We need more discussion! Here's my perspective: Some strict carnivores may hesitate when it comes to animal-based advocates guzzling honey, fruit juice, and pounds of fruit. However… you don't have to go that far! Incorporating a banana or two into your diet, perhaps around a workout and/or towards the end of the day, might offer benefits such as improved sleep, workout performance, hormone production, and more, while still aligning with a very low-carb / ketogenic lifestyle.
From my experience, hard workouts on strict carnivore make me feel extremely anxious. Perhaps I’m going hypoglycemic? Carnivore is great in every other way (besides diarrhea), except that it doesn’t seem to support strenuous exercise for me. A banana or two around workouts clears that up for me. (To be fair, I’ve never been truly strict carnivore, as I’ve always drank coffee, which is surely hurting my health).

Aches and pains gone with animal based way of eating. Sooooo true!!!! But, what I’ve noticed is the drastic change in my mental health when I go clean and animal based (I allow avocado and occasional berries). ‘Substantial’ improvement in my mental health, ability to concentrate (reduced procrastination) and overall stress tolerance. I’ve suffered from depression my whole life and it never occurred to me that my food could’ve been the cause.
I recently fell off the wagon and within hours, not even days, a huge wave of depression that lasted days hit me bad; it was really intense. I think I must’ve been more aware of how depressed I was, because I finally had a period in my life that I wasn’t. So, it was far more noticeable when I ate carbs and sugar again. I’m sad I backslid, but happy I did, as it made me notice more how much harm those foods are doing to my overall health.
When you feel like crap all the time, you forget or just don’t know, what optimal physical and mental health actually feels like. I’m back on animal based foods and starting to feel better already. Lighter, stronger, happier and alert! I don’t care what standard medical professionals say, the only experiment that matters is the one we do on ourselves. We know our bodies better! There’s little profit to be made in a happy and healthy species, so we need to do it for ourselves.

Fruit juice for me shoots up blood surgar.... just like a candy bar! For thoses struggling with weight and any metabolic issues ...please start testing your food reactions!!! Balance your hormones and watch what part foods play. Its amazing!!!! My lipad panel and A1 superb....LDL high but triclicides low and HDL high.
Thank you so much for actually having a conversation between two people that don’t agree on everything and I would love more of these. I would love an amicable discussion between a vegan doctor and a carnivore doctor. I follow a lot of wise people and I think there are great areas and everything and so I really focus on what everyone does agree on which is processed crap seeded oil and how glucose makes you sick.

Drinking soda is a big thing in America for some reason everyone else around the world seems to understand it's just sugar water.
@@strangethingshappen That's not true. I'm in America half the year and Europe half the year and everyone is drinking Coke. Sugar water was for the poor back in my day and never tasted like soda.

Great debate. Glad to see Paul bringing up how the carnivore diet didn't work for him. I had a similar issue and had to add in starchy vegetables and fruit. I also eat low carb dairy products such as butter, cheese and 24 hour fermented yoghurt. I see no problem adding fruits and veggies in as it still aligns well with what our hunter gatherer ancestors ate. I also agree with Dr. Mcdougall that humans thrive on starch and that contributed to our human evolution a lot as well.

When I was eating processed foods, veggies and pretty much everything. I ended up having really bad anxiety. Pretty much to the point my attacks were so bad I didn’t want to leave the house. My Dr put me on medication. I came across Paul Saladino videos, so I started doing animal based diet. I started feeling so good I stop taking my medication 1 day on 3 days off. Now I only have to take it once every week. It’s amazing what this diet has done for me. Bless you both

ppl fall off carnivore when they don't take enough fat. When you start out on carnivore, you have enough fat for your body to burn thro. When your body has burned thro this fat, you must take in enough fat otherwise you fall off. You're replacing carbs with fat, not protein - that's the idea. If you eat 8 eggs fried in an excessive amount of tallow everyday, and dousing your meats in excessive amounts of butter; if you're eating butter, drinking ghee everyday; you'll do well on carnivore. It's a fat diet, not a meat diet
I’m one of those LMHR (lean mass hyper responder) so I have to eat a little carbs now and then, but mostly I eat fatty meat. 56 yo and run daily, take no medication.
Coffee IS BS... and tea, and chocolate also are. I've just discovered that my panic attacks, my anxiety, my phobias almost magically vanished when I 100% quit drinking coffee and tea (coffee was the worst). Chocolate is hardest to stop eating (it's so tempting...), but I've reduced it as much as I could - and now, every time after I give in and eat some chocolate, I'm starting to see negative effects in my nervous system... they're mild, cause I don't allow myself to eat much of it. But why I do it to myself at all?... Now I have a stronger motivation to cut out everything containing caffeine completely. It's mindblowing what food can do to us.
I have the same with chocolate and raw cacao - I think it's the oxalates - would give me almost-instant heart palpitations, muscle pain and overwhelming anxiety attack.
@@JamesTudsbury yes, it can be cacao. Haven't thought of oxalates, maybe it's their fault. Does coffee have oxalates? I'm still trying to determine what's triggering anxiety the most.
wonderful conversation. I definitely have addictions, coffee and sugar. I was very happy to find out Dr Saladino eats raw milk, fruit and honey. I went out and bought some beautiful honey, I ate the whole jar in one week, I break out with acne and get gas when eating dairy raw or not, I do eat a banana every evening and that seems to work well. I chose a banana because it is a low oxalate. That pretty much stopped my night leg cramps. Experiment everyone is different and also I have learned while carnivore that my body changes a lot. In the beginning on carnivore I was very strict and was glad I was. I love all these carnivore doctors, they saved my life.

While I respect the carnivore diet, I've found that an animal-based diet suits me much better and contributes to my overall health, energy levels, and zest for life. During the two months I followed a strict carnivore diet, I faced considerable challenges without any carbohydrates. While initially, I experienced a high level of energy on the ketogenic diet, it eventually dropped to a lower but more stable level, and my motivation for activities like training and learning diminished. Additionally, I developed significant constipation, occurring once every 12-14 days, despite consuming plenty of fat. I began to feel disconnected, as if I were observing life from a distance, almost as if I were outside of my own body. However, upon reintroducing fruits, milk, and honey into my diet, I experienced a remarkable shift. My mood became markedly more positive, and I regained a significant amount of energy. I felt more connected to the world around me and developed a strong desire to help others.
What fruits to you eat?
I'm one of those former vegetarians (4 years). I thought I was doing everything right until colitis. I ruined my gut. I found the specific carbohydrate diet, first, then keto, then, finally, carnivore in my 40 year transition to gut health.

This was a great confirmation for me. I’m eating grass fed, grass finished most of the time but I do eat angus beef steaks too. Less vegetables and now I’ll be taking less coffee. Also I’m taking 6 capsules of Beef Organs from Heart & Soil. Feeling good! Thanks Paul!
I don't use fruit as a substitute for baked sweets and ice cream. If you reset your taste-buds, you will find that fruit tastes better, because it makes your body feel better during and after eating.
Fruit is definitely better than processed sweets!
I'm carnivore half of the time and 41yrs Keto but even on Keto, no veg or fruit. Cream, cheese I'm now 69 years old and in great health no meds. Thank you, both for teaching us about real true nutrition.

Interesting that some people struggle with sugar addiction when eating fruit and honey. I beat my sugar addiction (aka "sweet tooth") when I started eating more fruit because that's exactly what my body was asking for.

I find when my food is too salty, I crave sweets. But if i go more neutral with tinge of saltiness, I don't crave something sweet at all. I feel craving is more of a way for the body to balance itself.@@rachelbrondel5858
@@rachelbrondel5858 For the last year I've eaten fruit almost exclusively, but have experimented with all foods while eating this way. My preferred fruit is melon (any kind), grapes, most tropical fruits (jackfruit, mulberry, oranges) and the occasional palm full of pistachios or walnuts. Unfortunately in most of the United States you can't get many of the tropical fruits in the grocery. Otherwise, I typically avoid most other foods since they all seem to lower the quality of my digestion and do not leave me feeling good in any way. Meat and fish seems to be overall neutral to my body, neither good or bad. I don't know what it means really, but eating mostly fruit has worked for me and healed all of the chronic illness from my omnivore days. I'm always fascinated to watch Paul Salidino and his experimenting.
