Why this video has been cutt? where is the bit where smart bounces back like ping pong ball ? 2200 kilos vs light weigh I m not expecting miracles here
hold on... 0:25 ... the speed of the vehicles was only 50km/h instead of the industry standard 64km/h, and it was a 50% overlap vs the 40% overlap industry standard. I get the feeling they're trying to bias the test. I really do like the smart car, but not a fan of biased crash tests :(
You will feel the impact more in the Smart than in the S Class, the kinetic energy doesn't have where to go and dissipate as well as in the Merc. So you are right.
SacreDro I agree with you and cameron. I saw a different smart car crash test where it hit a wall head on and although the cockpit kept it's shape, the g-force indicators inside recorded g's that would kill any human being inside. It's like placing an egg inside a steel ball. You can throw the ball as hard as you want at a wall and it will keep it's shape but the egg inside will be scrambled.
Does anybody notice that they open the passenger's door after crash? Does it mean the driver's door chould not work anymore? They also don't show the airbag after crash.
i'd still rather be in the merc than the smart in any crash situation, lol
The class S has a longer hood, which allows a better shock absortion.

Yap.
A crash is a crash and this one is just as likely to happen to you.
@checkfoldcallraise that analogy is perfect

Those smart cars are a lot safer than you would think.
One got hit by a fucking train. and the driver walked away.
And shouted: I must go my planet needs me!!

What a waste of a good S Class
they are both sold by Mercedes
