I really appreciate that you take the time to play out these games thoroughly. Like, you don't just hop on the bandwagon as soon as the game comes out. This is why I love your reviews! You're also the person that convinced me to get almost all of the Atelier games, and I love them! TY Ircha :)
@ircha yes this one of my favorite things. U play the games all the way through rather than playing 5 hours, say it is a great game, and then move on to the next game. When u only play a few hours of a game, it's cuz u don't care for it much and u tell us that.
I know, I normally avoid super duper heavy content games like these ones since normally I don't have the time to sit through several cutscenes in one go or to do long sessions of grinding, farming and such for extended periods of times and I really hated that because I love info heavy games with well thought and written stories. Queue the pandemic and I found myself in a situation with lots of spare time to actually play games like these ones and well... I'm addicted! The music is nice, the graphics are lively and it all feel so welcoming it's just amazing! If it weren't for Ircha, I wouldn't likely know about these games and I really like that she goes the extra mile to really put some feel and spirit in her reviews, thanks to her my Switch library is quite mixed with all sort of titles and I love it.
Your videos on this series were what convinced me to finally take Ryza 2 off my wishlist. It’s my first entry to the Atelier series and I’m probably only about 40 hours into it but I’m still absolutely addicted to it. Thanks for the push!
I have the PS5 version of this game, and really getting into it. Last year when I gave it a try, the crafting seemed too confusing and I wasn't getting into it. But I've been more in the mood for exploration and story in jrpgs this year. Glad I gave it another chance. It's my first Atelier game so I plan on playing the first one too. Thank you for this review.
Wow, a lot of new mechanics from the first game (climbing, swimming, etc.). Looks really good. I like how it shows what you're gathering before you grab it.
I had decided on Lulua as my first after watching your review but it took so long to arrive I ended up getting Ryza 1 digitally and I am just loving it as my first Atelier. I did put in Lulua later just to see the graphics and character and it’s so pretty I already know I will love that too. I’m so excited for Ryza 2 as well ahhh!! 💜🐐 I’m so glad you opened my eyes to this series!! 🙏🏼
I came here for your rune factory 4 review and i have never left. You even got me back into the atelier series ( I havnt played since the iris trilogy on ps2)
I literally just started Ryza 2 last night and then Ircha posts this video! If anything, this is gonna keep me energized to play more. Loveee your reviews, Ircha!
Too bad ! Try to play one ! I was VERY skeptical about the series (i dont like weeb stuff very much, and Atelier is pretty much weeb material) then i watched the Ircha review about Ryza. I found a copy of the game under discount and start to playing... and dude, its just a JRPG. A very good one. If you like rpgs and a very complex, deep crafting system you will love these games.
@@liquid3600 I'm not a huge fan of Japanese voices either, but I try to treat them as "Animal Crossing voices" where it's just gibberish to hear what their general voice sounds like 😂
Ryza 2 handles difficulty curve a lot better too. In 1, the game allowed you to pretty much breeze through it only to slap you hard with the final boss. Ryza 2 put multiple bosses here and there as a ‘skill check’ before letting you progress. By the time I reached final boss, I was so much better prepared and obliterated him lol
My boyfriend bought me this for my 30th birthday today! I wanted it because I've watched this review so many times and thought it looked like such a beautiful game :) thank you Xx
Just wanted to comment here again to thank you for converting me into an Atelier fan! I remembered seeing these games on the eshop in the past and I didn’t think it was my type of game (thought it was one of those anime candy crush games 😂). If it wasn’t for the fact I clicked on this recommended video on my feed, I would have never known such an amazing series. P.S. I also managed to convince my bf to play the Atelier series 🤭 so make that TWO successful converts
I had to craft the bell, but took a 1 month break from the game, so I COMPLETELY forgot what to do. It took me a good 5 hours to figure it out. This game is pretty chill, I play it before going to sleep, usually doing some fighting and gathering while waiting for my cat and then doing some management while my cat sleeps on my legs. When she gets up to eat, I stop playing for the night. The Romi stuff confused me mostly because sometimes I just go on a gathering spree and end up with thousands of items that I'll never use, but I'm not organized enough to find what I want to keep and what I want to give away. I think I'm going to just give away every item I'm not currently using and do a reset so I can get better shops. It's not like it's hard to find most items anyway :D
It's funny to watch how your makeup matures as your reviews go on. First YT vids are so much different. You found your style. Stick to this, you look the most polished. Cheers.
I saw Atelier Ryza 2 in store. But don`t wanted it without having Atelier Ryza 1 (no digital copy). A week later or so found the first game at Gamestop. Bought it and immediadely drove 60km to pick up Atelier Ryza 2 too. The only store which had a copy in stock.
Thank you again for a wonderful review. You sold me on the Atelier series a long time ago. I just bought my first atelier game for my July birthday (Atelier Mysterious Trilogy DX) and can't wait to find it in my mailbox.
I had never heard of the Atelier series before watching your videos and you convinced me, it sounds like everything I like ! I recently bought a switch and I'm dying to save enough money to buy Atelier Ryza

I didn't even wait for you to review this game before buying it as I knew you were going to love it and as always I love your taste in RPGS. Ircha, I just watched Super Derek and Eric Landon RPG talking about you in a RPG show they did. Eric might be asking you on as a guest to share your awesome views on JRPGS etc. That would be an awesome show :)
Thank you so much for your in-depth review! I pre-ordered Ryza 2 the day it was available, but I am still playing through Ryza 1. I am enjoying it so much and think I'm finally used to the new battle system. I also really wish there was English dub as in previous titles though 🥺
Thanks for your thorough review! I’ve always been intrigued by the Atelier games and your overview is a great introduction to this game and the entire series. I think I will try Ryza 1 or 2 to start!
I discovered your channel recently. Atelier Ryza 2 sounds very interesting. I haven't finished any Atelier game, yet. But I started with Atelier Iris some days ago. It is fun, but it didn't age that good.
Love this game thank you for introducing this to mi!! I do have to say the room music you can change. If u go into the diary to BGM and pick the songs you want to hear and it basically makes a playlist at random of the songs you choose . There’s also downloadable songs. That way you are not stuck hearing the same one. 😸 Thank you!!
Bought this a few days ago, is kind of refreshing for a change from the usual same old games I am used to playing , it's abit of a grind but I'm only early in the game and I like it so far
It is amazing how YOU are always the most interesting thing in your video. Not the games itself. Always get to me. Think it's because you are so funny and make all kind of great voices effect and jokes. Love all you videos. Thank you !!!
Cc was basically the same concept as AP or MP which is attack points and MP magic points and cc would be core items and core charge so basically as you said it lets you use items and special attacks
This is such a well made video, I know nothing about the Atelier Ryza series but you seem to have really enjoyed you're time playing it. I might give the game a try!
Thank you for another great review I love atelier series And I’ve enjoyed playing this game Atelier Ryza 1+2 is my favourite game of all time Great review
its kind of crazy how this comfy game with a cute protag has such badass battle animations. Half the monsters were so adorable I felt bad beating them up.
I was really hoping that Ryza 1 was going to get an update with English voices because of its popularity/sales numbers (voice acting is expensive) and that further iterations would keep the Eng voice cast. This didn’t happen 😭. It is really too bad because I think the series has a lot of new Eng speaking followers compared to previous Ateliers.
Love your channel have been a viewer for a while and great collab with Metal Jesus who I also watch as well. Keep up the good work. JRPGs aren't my thing but I watch because I enjoy your reviews and takes unlike most reviewers. 👍
I only heard of Atelier series through Erick Langdon. Ryza2 is recommended game to get because has a lot of content. First game is hard to find other than eshop. Initially, I found combat difficult as fast pace turn based active battle but quickly got used to it. Disappointing there isn't English voice acting. I had to look up recipe morph as had no clue how unlock different recipes like Fish oil required to process a quest. Overall, I enjoy the game and love indepth crafting system. Remaking the items is must when facing bosses and tougher enemies. Tempting to collect all items on the field but basket inventory is limited. I find easy to unlock everything up to locked skills. Main things I love about JRPGs are music, graphics and stories. Can't wait to play more of the game.
Hi ! Nice video ! I discover the Atelier Serie with the lovely Lulua, I'm on the post game ! And I already have Ryza 1 & 2 waiting :D an I am excited to begin ! I didn't know the Atelier saga at all. I discovered its existence thanks to the Fairy Tail game on Switch, there was a Ryza costume for Lucy! And that intrigued me!
I played Atelier Iris on the ps2 and remember liking it a lot. I misplaced it awhile ago, and haven't seen a physical copy since. Whenever im on ps store browsing, I always come across these games, and consider jumping in, but decide against it.
Thanks so much for this Ircha! Maybe after Xenoblade chr. 2 I will try this. Never played atelier. Well whatever is going on in your life we are here for you. You and happy console gamer are my favorite youtubers atm. Love ya and want to see what you've been playing 😎💚👊
I bought the 2nd atelier ryza first but didn't play much before I got the first one for 50% off on the eshop. I got the preorder launch discount for the mysterious trilogy too so I'll be busy for awhile, lol. I agree the voice acting is weird since Lydie and Suelle doesn't have it either but I think I remember it in Lulua which came after.
Atelier Ryza is my first entry game in the series its so good and for me Ryza 2 has better combat still havent finished the game but enjoying it a lot.
Will you review the Atelier Mysterious DX Trilogy? I am playing through it now, but I just want to hear you talk about it, haha. I want to know which of the three you prefer.
bought it bcs of your unboxing video never know this siries exist tbh 😂 and I LOVE IT i love it way too much. if u guys havent try yet u shud definitely!
I got Ryza 2 but haven't had the time to play it yet, I'm excited for vacation to start, I will become the perfect hermit. Edit: I think there is no dubs of any language because that would not make the game release world wide at the same time and that's what they were tryign to go for from now on.
Kinda unrelated, but have you seen any of the videos for Skyclimbers? It is a kickstarted videogame being developed that will be on all consoles. It seems right up your alley. I pre-ordered, but I thought you might want to check it out. They might even send you a promo code or do an interview or something. Just a thought. You are my favorite reviewer (second place goes to SwitchUp) and I just want to put this game (Skyclimbers) on your radar. They have a RUclips channel.
@@ircha No problem. I'm super excited about it. They have to fulfill on the promise but they make regular videos and progress reports and have committed to work at an accelerated pace of months rather than years.
@@peachiepao942 What?! Blasphemy! Nah, it did take a little effort to get into compared to the mainstream Atelier games. I may need to go back through her vids and see what it was about Nelke she didn't care for.
@@nathan3084 it is definitely a different game compared to the others! I'm...struggling very much lol but I really love seeing characters from previous titles 🥰
''You can swim, now, and for the first time, even go underwater.'' You never played Atelier Firis, right? Sure, the underwater exploration of Atelier Ryza 2 differs from that same exploration in Atelier Firis, but it is a fact that you can go underwater in Atelier Firis and that game was originally released several years before Atelier Ryza 2. Other than that incorrect detail, this was another great review. I won't get the Atelier Ryza games (I often have a policy of ''no dub no buy''), but to everyone else who will get Atelier Ryza 2...I hope you like it :D
I played a good bit of the first Ryza game awhile back. At least halfway through but I dropped it for something else. Now I really want to play Ryza 2 but am torn on if I should replay the first one to the end or not.
dammit, i wasnt planning on getting this at all (hides steam wishlist) that mount and new swimming mechanic look so interesting! if u dont mind me asking, how was the balance between inventory and area drops? im still playing lydie and sue and always find myself throwing stuff or heading home only halfway through the map (and wasnt even collecting all the stuff i see shimmering!)
Very informative review. I would like to try the series out at some point and pick up both. They are pretty pricey for Switch compared to what you can find them for on Steam. I noticed Play Asia has a double or was it a triple pack of some of the other games. Maybe when I finish up some of the titles in my backlog. I still have both Xenoblade 1 and 2 to finish!
I used to love atelier games but haven’t played in a long time. (Since the one where you were in an academy and played as a boy on the psp). Should I take the time to play the first game before this one? I would love to get back into the series.
Ah I'm sad the first Atelier Ryza game is sold out right now, I really want a physical copy to try but am not willing to pay like $100 for a copy😅 Hopefully they make more soon! Xenoblade 2 as well👀🤞
Honestly I’ve just started a replay of Ryza 1-3, and it’s the best series. It’s so cozy, comfy and lovely. I love 3 and all the new updated stuff but 1 will always be my fave cause it was my entryway to atelier🥲🤩
I've always been curious about this game. Its like a 'normal' rpg? It's story telling? Its grinding? Every gameplay I try to watch theres a lot of talking and i end up getting bored. (don't punish me). But I keep getting drawn to this game.
12:21 after beating Persona 3, Persona 3 The Answer, Persona 4 Golden, Persona 5, Persona 5 Royal and Persona 5 Scramble I can say that I’m really tired of the Velvet Room music. In Ryza 1 I switched the Atelier theme until I found one that I like.
I still cannot play my copy of Ryza 2, cause I cannot find a physical copy of the first one without importing. The drawback of not having a dub is the lack of the understanding of some dialogs that aren't subtitled (like during foraging).
Hey Irchagaming, I loved watching your Switch games reviee before. Ever since I got my Oculus Quest 2 VR headset, I stopped playing my switch though 😅 I really love VR now. Have you tried it yet? Will you? I would like to play online with you in VR would be awesome haha! (I still love the switch reviews too 😉 ) Thank you for all your content, always a nice time watching your videos and reviews : )
Hello Ircha. Thank You for Your nice reviews. I love jrpg games, I think there is only few I did not try/ play for last 30 years :) I was thinking about playing this as well, but your review shows that the game is terribly tiring (inventory, tons of text and cutscenes) so I won't reach for it, but I respect that you wanted to get through these titles. However, this one is probably not for me. Cheers!
Which Atelier game is your favorite, and why? ❤
Ryza because I loved the way each character grew. They were all amateurs at first but they each followed their passion, set their goals, and accomplished them. I especially love how Ryza was not an alchemist but just a regular girl that discovered her love for alchemy.
Also their clashing and development with Bos throughout the game was so entertaining.
Probably atelier totori of arland series the map was huge lots of things to do time limit was tight but it was fine wish they imported that on switch in english but sadly only japanese for now
Ryza, Rorona and Firis for me!

Been waiting for this!!! It's as put-together and easy to follow as ever:) thank you!!!
Absolutely! It's a series that's not talked about enough, I feel like? I highly recommend this series 😊❤️
I got the collectors box set of this game and I CANNOT wait to play this! Just bummed I can’t find a physical copy of AR1 anywhere 😕
I haven’t tried any of the Atelier games but I love watching your reviews on them! I’ll have to check them out soon
Thank you so much 😍!! And I'll now check it out and see, thanks again 👍
@@ircha No problem. I'm super excited about it. They have to fulfill on the promise but they make regular videos and progress reports and have committed to work at an accelerated pace of months rather than years.
Great review! I bought a few days ago and just came In today but haven’t finished the first one yet.
Atelier games have long been a guilty pleasure of mine. You should also give Nelke and the Legendary Alchemists a go as well if you haven't already.
Ydarf I can't remember what video it is in, but she mentioned she didn't like Nelke at all :(
@@peachiepao942 What?!
I love your reviews, they are very sincere and helpful.
Okay Mr. Muscle 12-pack. IDK who you are but I see you. 👀
Currently playing after finishing the first one after your review. Love you and thank you they are both amazing!!! 😁😁😁😁
Waited for your quality content. I hope there will be copies of the atelier series here in the ph. You're very influential. Hahaha
I played a good bit of the first Ryza game awhile back. At least halfway through but I dropped it for something else. Now I really want to play Ryza 2 but am torn on if I should replay the first one to the end or not.
I added the bundle to my wishlist and all there is so much stuff in the eshop for these games I love it
This is giving me a bit of dark cloud 2 vibes and I’m here for it!
What is better ryza 2 or sophie 2? Thanks been loving atelier from watching your videos
I always go to your review before buying. Havnt disappointed me yet others, I guess, don't get my kind of gaming. You do! 🤗💕
dammit, i wasnt planning on getting this at all (hides steam wishlist)
that mount and new swimming mechanic look so interesting!
if u dont mind me asking, how was the balance between inventory and area drops? im still playing lydie and sue and always find myself throwing stuff or heading home only halfway through the map (and wasnt even collecting all the stuff i see shimmering!)
Looks such an amazing game but why do so many JRPG’s have to have excessive cut scenes and turn based combat?😥
Was looking up reviews but then I saw you 😍
I used to love atelier games but haven’t played in a long time. (Since the one where you were in an academy and played as a boy on the psp). Should I take the time to play the first game before this one? I would love to get back into the series.
If I change Ryza's outfit will it show up in the cut scenes or will her outfit revert back to her original outfit during the cut scenes?
Ah I'm sad the first Atelier Ryza game is sold out right now, I really want a physical copy to try but am not willing to pay like $100 for a copy😅 Hopefully they make more soon! Xenoblade 2 as well👀🤞
Love the bird ^^ have her join a review!
Thanks for the great video!
I’ve started with ryza 2 ... and yep I’m confused about the crafting thing. 🙈 the monsters are so cute though! I really don't like killing them.
Like I'm saying in this review, this game can often be too confusing! 😅 Hang in there!
Have you reviewed the Switch version of Ys VIII? It's on sale right now and I'm hedging on buying it.
Straight Up Buy! Both Atelier Thighza- errr I mean Ryza games are perfect in both story, synthesizing and combat.

Honestly I’ve just started a replay of Ryza 1-3, and it’s the best series. It’s so cozy, comfy and lovely. I love 3 and all the new updated stuff but 1 will always be my fave cause it was my entryway to atelier🥲🤩
Sooo good! 😍😍
@@ircha it’s my comfort game!’ I get a bit caught up on synthesising though, think I spent 2 hrs making stuff😭😂
Thank you Ircha, very cool review.
I still say the best Atelier games are the Mana Khemia series. I would love them to make a third game.
Should I get zenoblades or octopath travelers?
if youve beaten the optional boss after main game ... i salute your patience
thanks for the reviews i have switch n few games but idk wat else to play at the moment
I’ve put in at least a few hundred thousand hours into this series between Wii vita ps4 and sone I’ve played it on a few different systems
Hi Ircha, can you recommend me similar games like this one on Switch? I am looking for rpgs with good graphics and worth spending time. Thanks
Very solid review. I never got too big into the series, but there seems to be a lot of enjoyable stuff in there.
"Ssstoryyyy". "Ggggameee play" etc 😆.
Love your humor 👍
"verdict!"💁♀️🙆♀️🙅♀️
Don't forget "Music" 🌙👌
Hello Ircha. Thank You for Your nice reviews. I love jrpg games, I think there is only few I did not try/ play for last 30 years :) I was thinking about playing this as well, but your review shows that the game is terribly tiring (inventory, tons of text and cutscenes) so I won't reach for it, but I respect that you wanted to get through these titles. However, this one is probably not for me. Cheers!
