Thank you for the info on the Atelier online game. I started playing it this morning. I am also currently playing Ryza 1 and the new Sophie Trilogy. I got into Atelier because of your recommendation of the Dusk trilogy. I finished dusk and now love the series. 👍🏼
Thank you for introducing us to this game series - it feels like nobody except you is talking about them, and they would have completely passed me by without you!
I still LOVE the look of this trilogy. I had read in an interview recently that Gust was targeting some "Open world" stuff with the second entry in this trilogy. They were rather inspired I guess by fallout and skyrim so that's why the environments started to get so big.

@@ircha I really like them! Especially the 2 Mana Khemia titles 💕 I hope they consider porting these to the Switch. I think many Atelier fans would be interested in trying them ☺
Glad to see someone else really enjoy this series. I've been playing these since the PS2 days and (though admittingly) i've slacked playing the ones on ps3. I have the entire set on ps4 right now except the one that you seem to not like lol. I've had Sophie and Firis sitting on my shelf for years and finally started on sophie this weekend. Was debating on getting the dx versions but think i'll save that for switch since i want to try to find physical copies of them. Would love to see them remake the iris series for the switch.
Endeng up here looking for Rune factory information on rather to get it or not… And this game caught my attention. So far I am in love with Atelier Sophie, still learning the basic but WOW thank you for this amazing discovery 🔥💚
I always start these games and never finish them. With Sophie when it came out I hit a brick wall somewhere deep in the game. Overall I own 11 titles and they are fun
The.third game really adds a lot of qol elements and polishes a few of the mechanics. An option I selected for the dusk trilogy is to watch a let's play or cut scene "movie" of the first two then play lydie and sue. Lady talks like jumping into the third game is fine, and I guess she's right, but certain events really have a greater impact knowing the story better
I swear I commented on this earlier? Anyway, great video! Thanks for bringing more attention to this trilogy and Atelier games in general! I liked how in-depth you went. Love your videos 💕

I was waiting for so long for you to make this video, phenomenal job as always I enjoyed the the mysterious trilogy, but the the synthesis process was so bad I couldn't get into it as much as the other games before it Now that I've finished all the atelier games available on switch I gotta say that Rorona and Ayesha are my personal favorite alchemists, highly recommend everybody to play them
Out of all the Atelier games available on Switch, which would you recommend as the best one to start out with for someone who has never played the series before?
Hi!! So I know she said in her Atelier Ryza video that it's a great first entry for the series, and that she also recommended it as such. I love Dragon Quest XI so very much, it's one of my top 3 favorite games ~ the combat in Ryza always being active I didn't care much for, and I just don't get synthesis but I've gotta try. It's an absolutely charming game from the first five hours I have played! I hope it turns out to be my cup of tea. :)
Unsure if you've already bought a game, but I agree with this person. I'm playing Ryza and it's so pretty and chill! The games are on sale now and I'm considering getting some other games now despite not having finished Ryza yet.
i have so many problems with sophie that i wish i was someone else so i didnt notice all these things 😂 but crafting in sophie is still my fave. lydie and suelle is so good, the characters, story, design.. but on the switch there's a lot of jagged edges and it's very noticeable. Also the backpack is so small, I remember having to reorganize every 5 mins which was so tedious
I got Atelier Firis DX *only* because Firis Mistlud can wear the same school uniform that Hinako Shirai wears in Blue Reflection, I can't say no to that...even though I already have the vanilla version for PS4 (physically no less), I still got the DX version for Nintendo Switch because of that school uniform and nothing else...I can't resist, Blue Reflection is my main special interest...
@@ircha I'd say that the best aspects of Blue Reflection are everything *except* the gameplay, sure, I'm biased because it's my main special interest or hyperfixation and I can write a lot of Blue Reflection easily...in any case, something I've said many times already is that Blue Reflection is just a good game at best, but as an experience, as a story, it's fantastic in my opinion, I love the music, the characters, the story, the graphics...I love Blue Reflection as an experience, not as a game. The game has a lot of flaws, yes. I don't like the lack of English voices, the game has a bad translation (more or less) with a lot of errors or typos throughout the game, it suffers from slowdown even on a PS4 pro...among other things...but yeah, even with all those flaws, I recommend the game if one wants to play a story-driven game with a *very* low difficulty level, and at the end of the day...it's an enjoyable turn-based RPG, at least in my opinion.
I just played Sophie many years ago on the vita as it came free on plus. Now the Atelier games are on sale, I've not played any others so was thinking of getting either Firis or L+S, to see the continuation of Sophie.
I think one of the first reviews I saw in your channel was Oninaki. Brilliant game, I really love it, although I still have to finish it. So essentially became available fan of J-RPGs. I'm not that far into Atelier Ryza 1, but love the game and its characters. I think with these new ports my backlog will become even longer. ;) Time to play less acnh and finish Doom and Starlink. ;)
Your killing me haha. I spent all day yesterday thinking about pulling the trigger and now I am being persuaded further haha. My wallet hates you, but I like ya!
Hey! Can you rank the three trilogies? Arland, Dusk, and Mysterious. I’m debating what to get in the sale. Arland and or Dusk (already have Mysterious and Ryza). I also kind of want to get Lulua but 7 games all at once is kind of a lot haha.
I'm in the same dilemma man! I picked up ryza and ryza 2 while on sale on the eshop but i kinda want to get lydie and lulua, as Ircha and some others have recommended. Some people say that you need to play the previous episodes first to understand. The series seems pretty expensive and I don't know if and when they'll go on sale again. I'm interested in getting the dusk trilogy but the dull setting is a bit of a torn off for me.
I bought Arland. Still debating whether to get Dusk, Lulua, and Ryza 2 (I have all the others). It is on the pricey side but at least it supports a smaller developer.
O M G just now i noticed you could be perfect for a main role in a atelier game.......the look is almost completely there (the short skirt is missing ).
I slightly prefer thew Dusk trilogy (I'd say 9/10) and I agree though thiis is an excellent 8/10 trilogy. So much so I expect I will double dip these like I did Dusk and Arland too.
I LOVE the Atelier series!! I started with Ryza and now I want them all! It is actually 25% off in my e-shop, so guys, check your e-shops if you wanna grab a digital version (which is the only thing I can afford I suppose). DEAR IRCHA - will you recommend me to buy a DUSK or Mysterious Trilogy after having played Ryza? I only have money for one ))) Tusen takk!!
The Mysterious Trilogy is finally on sale for 30% off right now and I’ve been debating whether or not to grab this. After seeing your review, I think I’ll cave in 🤔 I tried getting into Ryza but the combat is a bit confusing for me. I’ll give Ryza another try though because I really wanted to try Ryza 2
I havent even finished Atelier Sophie DX yet and I think the trilogy is already worth it. I'm just having that much fun with it :) And it's on sale right now, at least on PSN
Funny enough, when it comes to the English voice acting, it feels like only 50% of the game is voice acted, which may just be the main story line, where as everything else on the side isn't. But with Japanese voices, even most of the side quests, or simply talking to an object (Excluding barrels! haha) are voiced. Example, Sophie speaking to the giant tree, the vegetables in the shop, or even the clock in Harol's shop will trigger voice acting. Encountering Fritz for the first time in the cabin where he's talking to himself also has voice acting, and it's pretty funny! (But, I will agree that both English and Japanese are great)!
Hello, Ircha! New subscriber here. It really caught my attention your emphasis about NEVER covering the spin-off title. Is the game unappropriate in any way? Thanks for the reviews.
Played a bit of the original Atelier series way back in the day, enjoyed it but didn't enjoy the time limits because I like exploring and grinding in games and don't like feeling rushed, I then didn't play any for a long time and then gave Sophie a try, I enjoyed it a bit liked that it no longer had the time limits but didn't play much at first because wellI played the combat all wrong and treated alchemy like a secondary thing and not the primary thing. Then played Ryse 1 &2 and really enjoyed the games the only thing I wished it had was the Sophie style alchemy, but having played a ton of them and learning to actually treat alchemy more importantly I went back and got Sophie and the painting one's DX versions and have found the games a lot more enjoyable now I understand the mechanics a lot better, kind of like how when Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories first came out I hated it because I didn't fully understand the mechanics of the game back then, but then when I got the game again as part of the PS4 rerelease and understood the games mechanics a lot better (like when I first played I didn't realize you always draw card s in the order you put them in the deck so you can always set up skill combos, but I thought it was random so my deck was horrible) the game was actually really enjoyable. This series is definitely one I grew to love as I understood what it was meant to be more, though having a full time job and a kid and family I am definitely glad they removed that annoying time limit from most modern Atelier games allowing me to play them at the pace I want to. Looking forward to Sophie 2 coming out here in about a month.
And yes I do realize how ironic it is that the games that got me fully into the series are the ones with the RTS style combat of turns not pausing for your input when I like to play games at my own pace, but I think that allowed me to learn just how powerful alchemy items are in combat.
I really want all the physicals I have - Atelier Ryza 1 - Atelier mysterious Paintings. I am hoping to get the second atelier ryza soon but then I am missing the trilogies which I want them all on physical
Hey Ircha. Would be cool if you gonna make an updated video about managing two Switches, cuz I've heard Nintendo did some improvements. Especially with the upcoming OLED model even more people will own two.
Oh damn that sucks! Gotta be careful not to experience this either xD Although I wanna keep the files on both to use them as primary and secondary devices.
Ok interesting !!! Is it bad i haven't finished any of my games .. ;( idk in looking into assassin's Creed now because of you but idk which is the best one did u play all the dlc?
i have all these on ps4 + the dusk trilogy i started with sophie but the optinal bosses are really put me off from plat and going to the other 2 .. none the less they are good that i bought rayza 1[ i got the platinum of the 1st one ] and 2 .. some of the atlier games still on my backlog lol
Ok, just bought the pack and I've got a question to it: does it matter in which order i play these games? Which one of them is first in the chronological order?
Hi Ircha! My daughter is playing Genshin Impact and she wants me to play it. I started playing it on the PS4 and I liked it but I don’t have hours to sit in front of the PS4 to play! I’m waiting for the Switch version of the game since that’s where I do most of my gaming. My iPad won’t play it and I don’t like gaming on my phone. My question to you is if any of the Atelier games gameplay could satisfy the itch of playing Genshin Impact? Or do you have any other games suggestions on the Switch similar to Genshin that I check out while Genshin come to the Switch?
If you were to suggest one of the atelier games for me which one would it be? I've never played one before but I was thinking of giving one a try. I would play it on switch. Thanks Ircha!!
So if I were to buy the switch version do you have to pay for other stuff in the game like with my own money? Cuz that's pretty lame especially if you're already paying for the game that's about the only thing stopping me from buying it
I would probably have to listen to Japanese for the entire trilogy just so the voices don't all suddenly change in the third lol. I actually like the voicing in Ryza so it's fine.
Just bought it at Play Asia 😊 I'm looking forward to this collection and especially Lydie & Suelle DX, the first version from 2017 looked so bad on Switch.
Just played the trilogy. Was surprised at how much I didn’t like Sophie! Other than the beautiful character designs, the interactions (I agree it’s a very charming game), combat and music this game was an absolute miss for me. I know that Gust will redeem themselves with Sophie 2 though. Lydie and Sue on the other hand was my absolute favorite of the trilogy. I really had a lot of fun with this game and the twins are hilarious! 😂
The twins are hilarious indeed! 😍 😂 👍 Sophie is a bit rough in its graphics, and the alchemy process is my least favorite in the series. But I like plachta.
@@ircha Yes Plachta was great and I really liked her and Sophie’s relationship. Very interested to see how Sophie 2 plays out. Baby Plachta is just so damn cute. Lol

What do you think of the recently announced Steam Deck? it's capable of doing everything the switch does but better.
Does it play on the TV also?
@@RavenMoon1989z Yes, it can be connected to a tv or a monitor, and you can pair any controller with Bluetooth and play with it.
Hey Ircha.
Would be cool if you gonna make an updated video about managing two Switches, cuz I've heard Nintendo did some improvements.
Especially with the upcoming OLED model even more people will own two.
I'm not planning on changing out my Switch... Last time was a mess 😂 lost the progress on "titles most played" like my play hours, that was wiped.
In my opinion, Assassin's Creed Origins is the best, and I played it 100% plus all DLCs. 👌
@@ircha oh boi I'm sold then lol 🤣 that'll be my new journey i have an issue with buy games never finishing them or even opening them it's annoying ..
Green grass x
❤️ ❤️ ❤️
i have all these on ps4 + the dusk trilogy
i started with sophie but the optinal bosses are really put me off from plat and going to the other 2 .. none the less they are good that i bought rayza 1[ i got the platinum of the 1st one ] and 2 .. some of the atlier games still on my backlog lol
Thanks for mobile version info!
Ok, just bought the pack and I've got a question to it: does it matter in which order i play these games? Which one of them is first in the chronological order?
If I wish to see the progression of all characters, should I start with the Arland and Dusk trilogy before playing this trilogy?
omg i just finished ryza and love it and gonna get this trilogy now lol
Nice 😍
Wish I could afford these games but they’re so expensive lol
Yes, I feel you! I love having physical copies of my games but I might just have to do the eshop versions to afford them
So are Lydie & Suelle and Lydie & Suelle DX different games?
Is Atelier Sophie Mysterious Book hard to find on Switch? I can only see Atelier Sophie 2 all the others are Japanese.
Is there enough new story and other stuff to warrant buying these again for switch?
I have Lydie and Suelle. I was turned off immediately by there not being a different language option
I remember I had to take some time getting used to it too. I prefer English!
@@ircha your review has made me reconsider it though!
plz tell me your gonna review zelda skywaard sword???
Are all 3 games and the DLCs on the cartridge (no internet required) or via download ?
I own all of these in digital so I don't know, but I'm sure SwitchWatch knows 👍
If you were to suggest one of the atelier games for me which one would it be? I've never played one before but I was thinking of giving one a try. I would play it on switch. Thanks Ircha!!
Ryza 2 😁👍 it's best
@@ircha thanks so much! You are the best 😄 love your videos
So if I were to buy the switch version do you have to pay for other stuff in the game like with my own money? Cuz that's pretty lame especially if you're already paying for the game that's about the only thing stopping me from buying it
The Mysterious trilogy games are all one time purchase games with everything included and no micro transactions. 😚👍
@@ircha oh ok cool thanks
Hating on the spinoff but shilling for the mobile gacha money burner. Got our priorities right for sure.
Did you play the spinoff?
I would probably have to listen to Japanese for the entire trilogy just so the voices don't all suddenly change in the third lol. I actually like the voicing in Ryza so it's fine.
Just bought it at Play Asia 😊 I'm looking forward to this collection and especially Lydie & Suelle DX, the first version from 2017 looked so bad on Switch.
cool video :P
So if i played the Arland trilogy before, there is a high chance i will like that trilogy as well?
100% yes
Lol
Am I having a Mandela moment, because I am sure you reviewed Nelke and the Legendary Alchemists 🤔
She did. It is just an awfull game. That is why we will never talk about it again 👌
@@Joyce-wz2zi She must have taken the review down.
Oooo 😁
I did take it down yes 😂 😎
Atelier Series is one of my favourites and its just my type of game ♡ Is the app available both in IOS and Android?
Yes for both cellphone systems 😁👍
@@ircha oh my! You replied big sis! I love your videos!!
Did you like Sophie 2 ??
I did 😁 also made a review of it 😁
thanks :D
