I have a millefiori form the 1850es it's signed wiv a x on the Caines! And middle of the flower! It's big it's shaped like a bottle and the glass lid comes it's 8inches tall amd very heavey! No one seems two no much or anything about adsept it's worth alot if money that's good two no but I'd like two no exactly where or when it was made wat I said above is wat I've been informed? Any help would be appreciated ✌️💯🇬🇧

I was thinking the same thing. I have a mille fiori that is beautiful on top but not so much on bottom. Some canes extend further down than others. Bottom is cloudy and irregular circular.

Hi there . I really enjoyed your peice on art glass. I worked for both Perthshire and Caithness as they are in my home town of Crieff in Perthshire. The guys are real artisans and I regard brother's Calum and Peter McDougal as friends.Please look on Caithness website and see the amazing work by Martin Murray who trained as a canny irish lad with Waterford Crystal. His cutting by eye brings the weights to life. I worked as an inspector for Caithness and they were the best bunch of boys. John Deacon is another great name and he is also based in Crieff. Say hi to your little boy he is a cutie.x

Haven't been really keeping up recently, my mom passed away and I haven't been "on it" for awhile. . . Getting caught up and would LOVE to see one on paperweights that go for less as well! Bread and butter keeps alot of us in business! Thank you so much for all that you do!

Thank you for this video I am stunned I have about 10 of these artists I've been collecting since the 1980s never paid more than $3 for 1 at a garage sale or thrift store never looked them up. I just stick them on my shelf I guess I'd better look at them closer. I only buy signed ones so so a lot of these names are familiar.

Thanks for this research video. I too love paperweights, because they're small and beautiful. I only have one of this type of paperweight, b&b but I also love collecting the clear glass and Lucite ones with etchings or carvings of my favourite native Australian fauna. It would be lovely to come across something more valuable one day.

Great fun watching your video and seeing one of my paperweights come up at 27:20, The leaf design. You will find my signature on the side near the bottom going around the piece. I always leave that base clean so that it can be polished at any time if it gets scratched . Thanks for the survey of recent sales and your enthusiasm for the art.

@@TheNurseFlipper Yes ,I used to have a paperweight dealer in the US called L H Selman and they sold my work for 10 years. I am still making some weights and sell them through my website . You are right when you say that there are unrecognised bargains out there! I sometimes get thrift stores asking me for values and happily give them advice and a chance to get a better price for their respective charities. People may not know how hard it is to make these objects but it is great that with a little education they can be appreciated again. Best wishes. Peter Raos

I recently got 30+ Joe Rice paperweights for 3 bucks each. They are the less desirable ones but I've been selling them for 18 to 25 each. I did get one large mushroom weight and it should go for 70-90 so I'm happy.

Hi, my friend pointed out your youtube to me because she knows my husband is a collector. His mother was an Antique dealer in Ohio, back east antiques are more 1800’s - early 1900’s. My hubby and his sister collect paperweight and they got most from her. They are worth much more if signed. I’d say a lot of ours are from early 1999’s. Best of luck to you on your journey. I used to work in a bead store. Took all the classes, free, got beads half off or free. I learned all about Fimo clay, glass Millefiori, etc. That gave me a lifetime love of rocks and beads. The owners I still see at Gem Shows, such cool people, I loved that job!! The paperweight with Millefiori, GORGEOUS, got me excited, soooooo cool!! Thanks for all your videos, great job!! Jeannie

Another great research video, you're so kind in sharing. I live in Scotland and have a large collection of Caithness and Perthshire paperweights, l find them quite regularly and can never pass them up. Unfortunately non are worth that much but they are beautiful miniature works of art! Nice to see someone also appreciates them. Kind regards Rachel 🤠

OMG, I have a glass paperweight that has an initial SAK in the middle of the canning of the millefiori, I have had it since I was a young girl, never realized it has initial’s until your video. It has now been listed on eBay!!! I am so excited. You are so awesome

It is my understanding that all Glass Eye studio glass has ash from Mt. St. Helen's eruption in it. So they are also a piece of history too as well as being beautiful art.
