@duszaniespokojna THX for this Vide. The „old“ Grand Vitara shows a very good Performance on the Rollers. The Jimny GJ seems to be a little bit better ...
Awesome! Thx for doing this for us couchsurfers duszaniespokojna! 4L does wonders for both cars. I guess the raw power of the GV 2.7 (US version?) is the reason less throttle needs to be given in non-4L situations? Apart from the horsepower, could it be said the results are identical?
Yes, this is US version. Much more powerfull than Jimny, but also much heavier. Results are very similar, however in Jimny it looks smoother. Interesting thing is that if you open center diff, GV will not pass three roller test. And that is not disadvantage, but advantage.
@@Trader7535 If you drive GV with open center diff, it means that conditions aren't too bad. Aggressive traction control is not good then. And it works different in 4H mode, different in 4H Lock mode and different in 4L Lock mode, what means that system is well calibrated.
Hello! I need to decide between both 2019 USA versions. Future usage: 70% city (slow traffic and lots of potholes) and 30% off-road (beach and highlands). Which would you recommend today for a couple with no kids? Thanks in advance!!!
@@Takaezu New Jimny with automatic transmission. Smart in the city, amazing in offroad. Grand Vitara is also great, but that's much bigger and heavier car, waste of space for a couple with no kids.
has the Grand Vitara 4H Lock and 4L Lock systems improved in the latest versions? I have seen minor appearance changes but I don't know if there have been changes in the traction or differential systems.
They say they improved the system with an additional button that brakes the spinning wheel to move the other stationary one when off-road. So, hopefuly, you try the new RAV4 HYBRID AWD-i...

We have a '08 2.0 GV and it's a decent vehicle, if a bit lacking in power. It needs a 6th gear badly, though.

duszaniespokojna - 4x4 tests on rollers hello! Thanks for replying. I meant the Grand Vitara and the Jimny. Thank you!

Both full timers. Old vitara doing great.
Jimny is not full time 4WD
has the Grand Vitara 4H Lock and 4L Lock systems improved in the latest versions? I have seen minor appearance changes but I don't know if there have been changes in the traction or differential systems.
I don't think so. There was a change of center differential many years ago when they added ESP/TC, but I haven't heard about any later modifications.
In the case of vitara what is meant by "lock", a mechanical lock or some electronic equivalent.
Mechanical lock of center differential.
Good 4WHD for Suzuki ,
Does it have locking differential for front, centre and rear,
Both cars don't have locking front and rear diffs. Grand Vitara has locking center diff. Jimny doesn't have center diff at all.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers I don't understand how they could pass the three roller test without some locking - they must have LSD's front and rear.
@@autarko They don't have any LSD, it is simulated by brakes.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers Thanks, I realise that now. Your tests are very good.

The Jimmy wins... But for a SUV like the Grand Vitara it's 4wd is way more efficient that many SUVs out there.
That się not true. Jimny can’t use 4WD on tarmac.
Please do a jaguar or any LR .. RR awd comparison.. thnx!
