  • Hey guys and thanks for watching the video! Located about an hour and a half's drive from Columbus, The Iron Triangle Railpark in Fostoria, Ohio is one of the most visited and highly recommended railparks in the country. With two class one railroads and 3 double tracked mainlines converging here, it is a great place to sit and watch trains. CSX's Willard and Pemberville Subdivisions account for most of the traffic in the area, while Norfolk Southern's Fostoria District sees a reasonable amount as well. While in Fostoria for a full summer day, we saw close to 40 trains, which is absurd in this day in age with precision scheduled railroading and monster combined trains. As stated in the video, most of the traffic in Fostoria is intermodal, both domestic and international. Trains traveling East to West on the Willard Subdivision first cross the diamonds in Fostoria, then to a popular intermodal ramp known as North Baltimore before reaching yet another railpark in Deshler. Trains traveling West to East on the Fostoria District first must go to Fostoria, before reaching the biggest yard on Norfolk Southern's system in Bellevue. On the Pemberville, CSX trains that travel north out of Fostoria are most likely bound for Detroit. The Pemberville is mostly automotive traffic. All three lines that go through Fostoria play a significant role in the economy of the Ohio region. I hope you enjoy this video! Please like and subscribe.
