Thanks man and yes, all is great! I went to the pond yesterday and threw some bread to bring in the sunfish / minnows and a couple bass and tilapia came to investigate. I was very surprised how big they were already!
Hey, do you have tips for somebody who hates bottom fishing? It’s just slow and not super enjoyable for me. I’m looking for alternatives for hot weather.
I and most bass fisherman would agree with you, fishing under the surface isn't near as much fun as top water. My favorite lures for topwater bass are as follows. Classic Floating Rapala (around 4") black back with silver sides. Twitch (pop) it on the surface like a wounded minnow. River2Sea's Whopper Plopper (the smallest size 75 is my fav in color Loon) Heddon's Tiny Torpedo and hollow plastic frogs (Booyah's Poppin Pad Crasher JR) are awesome over grass and or lily pads. Just watch some YT videos on technique on using each and you'll definitely have more fun fishing!
@@HomesteadOnThePreserve I was referring to things like jigs and Texas rigs and dropshotting, I don’t mind things like spinnerbaits. But thank you so much!
@@DodoBird157 Ahhh I see, sub-surface fun lures. That's tough fishing when there's a lot of weeds/grass but here goes. I like a weedless rigged swimbait, like a 2-3" paddle tail fish or my all time favorite, 4-6" Squirmin Lizard with a weedless rigged 1/16oz jig head. The jighead means you fish it faster so it's not as boring.
Thanks! I also have a weedless chatter bait and multiple spinnerbaits that come through weeds well that I love using, I just don’t really enjoy using jigs, Texas rigs, drop shots etc
Dude that was awesome! You’re living the dream hope you’re well. Beautiful pond ! 👍🍻

That is really cool to have your own pond . Hope the fish grow fast and healthy 😊
Thank you Kevin, I appreciate it.
