A good analysis. A crucial point they missed is that the ideas behind secularism are these days only expressed in English and thus limited to elite English speakers. There must be more writing and discussion of these topics in native Indian languages to reach the masses. If you go back in time back to pre-independence era, Gandhi and many other writers were communicating these ideas in Indian languages along with English.

Beautiful analysis. All that opposition needs to do is put a major dent into the 40% hindpnotised (hindutva- hypnotised) vote bank. Their tact should be to play Rahul card very tactfully not to expose him to Modi. In fact the unified opposition should not project any leader and keep BJP in a guessing game. Its being intriguing to me as well, why is Rahul has chosen to walk different path away from the current mainstream political system. The answer may lies somewhere what Mahatma Gandhi was, when other powerful men of the time were taking on Britishers in more contemporary way of that time. But to their wisdom when they realized the Gandhi's unpractical way can be the ONLY WAY to drive away britishers, they followed Gandhi's way to get the freedom in such way that ALL STATES OF non-homogenous functions were brought under ONE UNION of States by its Constituition, which was never a CASE before British or Moghuls came to India. Its remarkably a very difficult task, even as history repeats for all the Congressmen of today's to come under the thought of Mahatma Gandhi once again spearheaded by Rahul Gandhi. Because Rahul Gandhi is also not the usual contemporary politicians as the way Mahatma Gandhi was during his time. An uphill task, nevertheless Rahul will take this risk with the people having the blood running of freedom fighting congressmen.

A good analysis. A crucial point they missed is that the ideas behind secularism are these days only expressed in English and thus limited to elite English speakers. There must be more writing and discussion of these topics in native Indian languages to reach the masses. If you go back in time back to pre-independence era, Gandhi and many other writers were communicating these ideas in Indian languages along with English.

@arwind sawant You seem to know what political parties like the BJP should do but fail to understand the important role of the media. In a democracy, the role of the media is to always question the party in power for the public benefit, when it stops doing that and starts supporting the people in power, it can no longer be called media, it becomes just a propaganda channel - that's why it's called the fourth pillar. Essentially, the media should always be playing the role of the opposition - when they were doing that during the UPA regime we all liked it, and they are still doing the same role but we are not able to appreciate it now, because we have stopped thinking like citizens and started seeing things through our religious lens. The problem is not with WIRE, it's with people like us.

The views expressed by Prof Suhas Palshikar are a clear message to all opposition political parties especially to Congress. Excellent interview by Karan Thapar which every Congress party cadres should hear/know.
Congress failed to carry out the political alliance with other political parties to defeat bjp for example congress opposes mayavati deeply rather than defeating modi and bjp.
This was interesting and enlightening. Professor Palshikar is in possession of great clarity of thought and expression thereof. Mr. Thapar got concise answers and did not get impatient enough to interrupt the learned Professor who was so eloquent. Great interview.

Beautiful analysis. All that opposition needs to do is put a major dent into the 40% hindpnotised (hindutva- hypnotised) vote bank. Their tact should be to play Rahul card very tactfully not to expose him to Modi.
In fact the unified opposition should not project any leader and keep BJP in a guessing game. Most importantly the Adani issue has to be relentlessly pursued.

Its being intriguing to me as well, why is Rahul has chosen to walk different path away from the current mainstream political system. The answer may lies somewhere what Mahatma Gandhi was, when other powerful men of the time were taking on Britishers in more contemporary way of that time. But to their wisdom when they realized the Gandhi's unpractical way can be the ONLY WAY to drive away britishers, they followed Gandhi's way to get the freedom in such way that ALL STATES OF non-homogenous functions were brought under ONE UNION of States by its Constituition, which was never a CASE before British or Moghuls came to India. Its remarkably a very difficult task, even as history repeats for all the Congressmen of today's to come under the thought of Mahatma Gandhi once again spearheaded by Rahul Gandhi. Because Rahul Gandhi is also not the usual contemporary politicians as the way Mahatma Gandhi was during his time. An uphill task, nevertheless Rahul will take this risk with the people having the blood running of freedom fighting congressmen.
The party who is enjoying the intervention of foreigners into own country i doubt about their wisdom..he wants to restore 370 ☠️what the hell we are finally able to get back Kashmir from darkness..this is why we are struggling..that Gandhi was working for good cause but ended being menace for india when his all sympathies were laid with Pakistan ..same is Rahul Gandhi thinking .and we don't want that again .already faced that once ..finally india is able to start giving neck to neck to other countries in intl politics ..it will be a reboot back to -100 level and this time world has gone way far , it will impossible to catch up .and remember Gandhi was not the only one who fought...these crooks always hailed him but never talked about others .
