The Bach Double here sounds fantastic. I'm a viola player and wish to the good Lord that we had this piece!!! Thanks for all of your post. They are amazing and helps all violinist and violist, in particular, us who have a hard time affording lessons.
On sheetmusic you can write the word marcato itself above or below the staff or one of these two accent marks, ^, >. The first one being a bigger markato. Remember that the term itself means "marked".
Thanks for saying so Milo. Join fiddlerman.com/forum if you have time. It's free and there are a bunch of friendly violinists and fiddlers of all levels participating in interesting discussions. 😁
Thank you Sir Augustine. I actually played in the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra for about a total of 3 months on different occasions. Once on a Japan tour. 😁
this makes so much sense! i sing instead of playing an instrument, but it was so helpful! we're singing a song in choir that has the marcato note over the final two sung notes and i didn't know whether to make the two lyrics connected or slightly cut off between them. so we're singing the word "noel" and its a dotted eighth note for "no" and then a sixteenth note for "el" and both have the ^ above them. i feel so fancy now that i know how to properly sing it!
Miss old RUclips videos like this, practical, straight info and 0% pretentious.
That is so nice to hear. Thanks so much.
Oh how right you are! No too much teasing and speaking, just on the point.
