    The Bach Double here sounds fantastic. I'm a viola player and wish to the good Lord that we had this piece!!! Thanks for all of your post. They are amazing and helps all violinist and violist, in particular, us who have a hard time affording lessons.

    On sheetmusic you can write the word marcato itself above or below the staff or one of these two accent marks, ^, >. The first one being a bigger markato. Remember that the term itself means "marked".

    this makes so much sense! i sing instead of playing an instrument, but it was so helpful! we're singing a song in choir that has the marcato note over the final two sung notes and i didn't know whether to make the two lyrics connected or slightly cut off between them. so we're singing the word "noel" and its a dotted eighth note for "no" and then a sixteenth note for "el" and both have the ^ above them. i feel so fancy now that i know how to properly sing it!
