The problem for the new Galaxy watches is Samsung's switch to Wear OS vs sticking with Tizen. Tizen was far more battery efficient. I wish Samsung had stuck with it.
Despite all the small differences, I personally cannot overlook 2 things and both of these come down to more of a personal choice. 1) The Galaxy watch is a LOT less money, especially on the second hand market. 2) I am a guy, and I am old. I prefer a circular watch face over a square watch face. Again, this is just me. For the small differences between the two, I just simply cannot overlook these
Returned the Watch Ultra for these reasons 1) Sound is very hard to hear when running compared to the WC6 which is louder 2) Cant turn off NFC on AWU 3) Google Assistant is better than Siri 4) AWU2 i couldn't sleep wearing it way to heavy 5) Cheaper to download apps 6) Text too small to read and takes too long to find the information on AWU2 7) £800 not worth the money, £400 for Samsung incredible watch Apple Watch looks better
I really would've loved a heartrate accuracy between the two. I know apple watches are very accuracy. But I would've loved to see how they compare to one another and how far the watch 6 differs
I know MKHB did a 1000 step comparison with an apple watch, galaxy watch, and Garmin watch and the galaxy was off by like 10 steps, the apple like 30 and garmin around 20 so they are pretty accurate. And if you use the same device then even if they are not accurate you can still see if you are progressing in steps/exercise or not
I am not an apple guy and gave up on smart watches, and went back to a real watch with real hands, the apple watch beats everything out there by a long way. Anyway as I said gave up on smart watches, Less is more I say. Prefer sleep tracking with my Oura. To many these days these watches have become an obsession and worry about the results they get so prefer none and enjoy my walks better without one. Also a solar citizen eco watch and Casio solar, never needs charging and never needs a new battery, whereas all these smart watches the batteries do hold less and less charge in time, so become useless
The apple watch ultra isn't nearly twice as expensive as the samsung watch. It's significantly more than twice as expensive as the galaxy watch 6. And add to that, samsung often bundles a galaxy watch for free if one buys the ultra series phone on the launch date. Plus samsung watches often receive huge discounts. I recently bought a galaxy watch 6 for 20k INR with a massive discount from samsung store, which is like 240 usd. So, in India - the Apple watch ultra is 4X the price !! I do agree that the ultra is overall a better device but the value to cost ratio is far better for galaxy watch
I have the Pixel watch, Galaxy classic 6, galaxy watch 5 pro and the Ticwatch 5 Pro and the Ticwatch is smoother and way faster than any of my other watches. You should try it. Thanks for the video!
Why didn't you mention BMI on the Galaxy watch, which is extremely important for fitness. Blood pressure monitoring is also available on the Galaxy watch. Both are missing on the apple watch.
Nothing. You should be comparing the 5 pro to the fruit watch. Not the 6 classic. The watch 6 pro will be released this year. You seem not to realize that the Samsung pro version is a separate release. The 6 classic didn't replace it. Fail on your part. The 5 pro is the better watch.
Just because you pay more for a watch doesn't mean it's better my first smart watch galaxy watch 6 classic 47mm works perfectly for 3 weeks no lag what so ever everything just works as it supposed to apple just over charges for everything as usual...
I've just purchased the 47MM 6 Classic, with LTE and unlimited data to compliment my Garmin Fenix 6X Pro. It would have been nice if Samsung made a 50MM watch, but 47 will do. Being fair to my Fenix, its health monitoring features are very accurate when compared to my non watch health gear. The sleep and respiration data is phenomenal on the Fenix.
I'm not quite sure what you're talking about with the Galaxy watch battery and its laggy performance. My battery doesn't drain half as much as what you say yours does and my performance is not laggy at all, it's very responsive. I can't say it's better than the Apple watch because I honestly have never used an apple watch, but it's definitely not as bad as you say it is.
btw the battery life on regular Apple Watch series 8 or 9 is hardly even 20 hrs, and their build is of Aluminium and regular glass which comes for the same price (Samsung GW 6 Classic).
Im actually confused why people galaxy watch just last them around 1 day half mine always last me for 3 and half sometimes 4 days ( except for the first 3days weirdly enough its like its updating and consuming more battery maybe because its pairing up or body checking me idk )
Man your comparing a $340 watch vs a $800 watch. Which is nearly 3x the price. Thats basically comparing my custom high end pc to a "custom prebuild" at a electronic store. Would be much better if you go with a non ultra with similar pricing.
Pretty much all the ultra features are the same on the regular models. My point though was to try and compare the 'best' apple watch with the best android watch, even though it may not be a fair comparison, I'm still amazed that not a single android watch is as fluid as a basic apple watch se !
1. Exynos is always a problem. The only variable over the generations has been how much worse they have been than the SnapDragons. IMO the ONLY thing that makes the Watch 6 inferior in almost every respect is the processor. If the Exynos ran functionally the same code as Apple's, you would probably need a time machine to do this review. There is only so much code you can run and keep it still usable. 2. The Samsung watches seem to sell for ~1/3 less than their list price. My guess is for many, it's the Samsung watch or no watch. It isn't so much that people can't afford the Apple watch. The issue is it simply cannot bring that level of value to more than a very few. 3. The phone is the main attraction. The tail doesn't wag the dog. Samsung has been forcing Apple more and more to compete on price. With the release of the S24 Ultra, Samsung hit it so far out of the park that it is unlikely that Apple can do more than throw up smoke to convince their base that the closing of the gap that they have been seeing over time and now blowing past them is a temporary situation and that they have something that will leap-frog it "real soon" while they scramble. Samsung added to that earthquake an aftershock with their discounts and amazing trade-in allowances, together which become Apple's new bar. A disproportionate percentage of Apple's user base are those who want the best or those trying to make a statement. Their thoughts revolve more around their image which is driven by the voices they listen to, which have also been shaken. They are also more likely to be on post-pay contracts where a new phone every couple years is part of that price. Any ding to Apple's status also will have a disproportionate impact on whether or not their next phone is an iPhone, which in turn impacts infrastructure and accessory sales. Tied to those is a reduction of Apple's ability to lock people into their non-industry standard technologies that prevent competition, and their power to restrict 3rd-party parts and repairs. This is a critical time for Apple from a competitor who sells far more phones than they do, and a key contributor to Android. Until just a year or so ago, Apple was eating into Android's user base. What you have made clear to me is Android needs a real watch if the Watch 6 is the best there is. This review agrees with the others. Samsung needs to address that before Google does otherwise they will lose a lot of sales to the somewhat inferior Pixel. Either way, none of this works to Apple's advantage.
2:50 I love my galaxy watch classic but Samsung has to fix the fluidity of the software compared to the series 7 I had it is very laggy in that sense. Hopefully they smooth it out like one ui 6.1 or bring 90hz on the watch 7 classic!
I completely 100% agree with everything mentioned in this video especially the part about how this is the 6th generation smartwatch for Samsung. They should be as fast, smooth, and responsive as the Apple Watch. That’s why I haven’t been able to fully commit to Samsung. One last thing, the call quality on the Galaxy Watch was better.
to be fair hes testing a 400 dollar watch, to a 800 dollar one, samsung has the 5 pro available, for 429 and they alternate between classic and pro every year( 2024- 7, and 7 pro, 2025, 8 and 8 classic.)
The watch is in learning mode for a few days, it speeds up as it learns. It also add much more time. Mines is close to 4 days and i've had it 2 weeks. You may have to change settings which the watch then learns as well, but every time i charge it my battery life been increased.
@beslimani6174 you have to reduce the apps running in the background. It impedes the enjoyment and interferes with the reason you bought it in the first place but greatly improves the time. There are videos that help you increase the watch time.
nice comparison, but you did not mention so many things : 1) all the health features that are running during night in the Galaxy , like blood oxygen , body temprature and more more . 2) you did not mention that are many features in Galaxy is not found in Apple watch like controlling other devices from your wrist . like my TV , lights and even my curtains at home 3) you did not mention that the OS of the Galaxy is open to the play store and many stuff can be installed from their like google maps navigation and many other important apps . 4) you did not mention that i can download any MP3 media and just share to the watch very easily and leave telephone at home , no need for itunes or any other complicated softwares . 5) you did not mention browsing options via galaxy and so many more stuff that apple watch can not do . in my opinion apple watch is nice , over prices , paying lot of money for this apple logo. effective wise , galaxy much more fun , easy , and usefullllll.
To Mr Pete : have you ever did a bump test on both watches ⌚️ and a sound test with alot of ppls say like at a football game or test it while inside the tunnel on the train 🚇 ⌚️👂🏽 do you see how close you have to put your ear to both watches and on the GW 6 classic 47mm when someone calls you and you press the Loud🔈👈🏾 speaker it's doesn't respond quick enough like on your Samsung phone does these are the things that Samsung needs to test out before putting it out on the market for the hole world to used that's just my opinion
I bought the samsung watch with the s24 ultra for 191$ CA compare to the 1100$ + tax CA for the Ultra, for me its a no brainer, price to value of the watch 6 is just insane compare to the high price of the Ultra
I have the WC6, and been an android user for ever. i do think the Ultra 2 looks better but at £800 and then it requires an apple phone as well doesn't make it feasible to switch over. Despite Samsungs claim about the battery I have found it needs charging every day with screen brightness on max, and i have found only 1 decent watch face that doesn't black out when on battery save. I use barometer, blood pressure, heart rate, running, gps and find it works really well for me.
Great video I got to say you have to retest the Samsung watch after the update. I am now getting two days on LTE but three months ago It was really horrible even though they did fix things with the update I’m still getting away from both Apple and Samsung, smartwatches and going Garmin.
I think the performance comes down to the software on the galaxy watch 6, my galaxy watch 4 classic feels like it's a generation ahead of my brother's watch 6 in terms of responsiveness. I think Samsung just needs some time to optimise the watch 6 because it definitely has a better processor than my watch 4 classic.
Have both. Agree completely with these findings. Performance is janky on the GW6C but wow is it a fantastic looking watch and the rotating bezel is far nicer to use than the digital crown. Also, the Galaxy phones can reverse-charge the GW, which is handy in a pinch.
Agreed about the chip. The gestures are what I've learned to really enjoy. It gets confusing but a fun little perk. Maybe next year they'll step up the performance. I'll always be a samsung guy over the rotting apple.
I mean if you picked a darker watch face on the Galaxy watch it would probably last longer like most of the screen on the Apple watch is black but on the Galaxy watch it's literally all white not a fair comparison
I have watch 6 and apple watch 8. The battery is almost similar but when I dont have the watch on, galaxy watch still drains battery bit apple watch doesnt.
I've never experienced sluggish performance on my Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, or prior Watch 4 for that matter. And Google Assistant works like a charm for me. So I guess Watch 6 wins 8-5 for me?
...because of... ..."ecosystem" 😅 Great comparison, Pete! have the same reason why my galaxy watch has not been upgraded from a 4 classic, and I'm wearing a watch ultra as an everyday watch and special long weekend trips.
After having owned an S23 and Galaxy 6 classic for five months, I’m switching back to Apple. The battery life on the 47mm is just garbage. You have to put it on power saver mode to hopefully get it to last a day and then you lose features when doing so. Something that doesn’t happen with an Apple Watch and I’m using the SE version. The Apple Watch syncs up better with the phone when getting notifications or pretty much doing anything. The galaxy only has 16 GB of memory while the Apple has has 32 GB. So you won’t run out of room adding music or apps. with the S 23, I’m waiting for it to get back from repairs. Once again, it’s only five months old. A problem I don’t have with Apple.
I just made the switch from apple to samsung. When it comes to phone vs phone alone I kinda like the android better. But when your talking about full ecosystems, as in using the phone, watch, voice assistant all together.. apple absolutely blows it out of the water.
Just got my Galaxy Watch 6 and been using it since a week. Never ever noticed the lag once. So people reading my comment, go for it lol. Apple watch is made as a joke or FU by apple at that price when there are better options in the market. Also The Galaxy Watch 6 looks like a watch instead of looking like a baby calculator watch (Apple) and it has peak skin temperature(which apple does not) during sleep that has been really useful for me for improving sleep quality.
The battery life on newer smart watches doesnt make sense to me, i havnt used a smart watch since the galaxy gear 3 (and it was a few years old by the time i got it, since it was originally my moms) and i only had to charge that thing like once a week
great video, couple things....I have noticed zero issues with performance of my Watch 6 Classic and with 500 to 600 more nits on the samsung, it should have won that "battle".
When it comes to the ecosystem it's the system that syncs with the most OSs (Android smartphones up to 80% + iPhones...). I use Amazfit 7 & with almost 2 weeks battery it does all/most of what I/you need.
İ also moving from apple to Android. One have to use and android wanna use . Especially when apple tells the world beats studio buds has spatial audio when it actually doesn't , try to replace it . After 7 calls to apple they removed all the statements from apple site, and told me they cannot do anything about it , sorry . But apple forgot to remove it from beats site .. so disappointed with apple

The fact that the standard/classic galaxy watch keeps up with the ultra is the reason why I choose samsung if you were to compare the apple watch 9 to the galaxy watch 6 the 6 just kills it
battery drop and charging speeds were not the same i got on my watch, it lasts 2d 5h on standby, if workout 1hr daily, 38 hrs, if AOD on with the same 28 - 30 hrs, i turn on LTE only when i don't carry my phone.
I wonder what samsung is going to come out for a ultra version of their galaxy watch. Be cool if the came out with a ultra version with a bendable screen they did years back.
@@joshuap2574 yeah. Just certain things. It's just not as fast as they should be. I'm also being kind of picky. It's just the 6th gen already. If they want to take over the Android watch market just charge 50.00 more and give us a better processor. Or make a Ultra version. What's your opinion?
Samsung, PLEASE make a rectangular watch. In 1890, watches had physical hands that turned in circles. Circular watches made sense. In 2024, the primary function of smartwaches is to display text. Circular watches make no sense. Samsung, you understood this 10 years ago. You made the Galaxy Gear S, the most beautiful smartwatch in history. Please go back to your roots!

fax tizen on top
This. I still have a Gear S3 Frontier that i would rock once in a while and it's just better. Also own Watch 4 and Watch 6 Classic
For the small differences between the two, I just simply cannot overlook these
Returned the Watch Ultra for these reasons
1) Sound is very hard to hear when running compared to the WC6 which is louder
2) Cant turn off NFC on AWU
3) Google Assistant is better than Siri
4) AWU2 i couldn't sleep wearing it way to heavy
5) Cheaper to download apps
6) Text too small to read and takes too long to find the information on AWU2
7) £800 not worth the money, £400 for Samsung incredible watch
Apple Watch looks better
Also the price of ultra is almost double of samsung watch 6
to fix the google assistant problem, which i also had, u have to reset the watch, and set it up on the same account that u set the Samsung account on.
I have a watch 6 and the responsiveness is great
Yeah I went into developers mode and turned all the animations from 1x to off. Super snappy responsiveness
My GW6 classic 47 mm uses like 6-7% of battery over night, maybe 9% max happened once in 10 days that i have it.
I really would've loved a heartrate accuracy between the two. I know apple watches are very accuracy. But I would've loved to see how they compare to one another and how far the watch 6 differs
Idk about the apple watch but I've compared the W6C to my Huawei watch and the HRA readings are identical
I used both, perhaps you should have tried with a different watch face on the Samsung. I never experienced this kind of lag on it.
I do agree that the ultra is overall a better device but the value to cost ratio is far better for galaxy watch
how accurate are the altimeter on both watches?
I have the Pixel watch, Galaxy classic 6, galaxy watch 5 pro and the Ticwatch 5 Pro and the Ticwatch is smoother and way faster than any of my other watches. You should try it. Thanks for the video!
Agree!
I have a 44mm galaxy watch 6 and I wore mine around 36 hours and I still had over 20% battery life
What is your favourite thing about the Apple Watch? Or is there a better Smart Watch out there?
Why didn't you mention BMI on the Galaxy watch, which is extremely important for fitness. Blood pressure monitoring is also available on the Galaxy watch.
Both are missing on the apple watch.
I love galaxy watch
Nothing. You should be comparing the 5 pro to the fruit watch. Not the 6 classic. The watch 6 pro will be released this year.
You seem not to realize that the Samsung pro version is a separate release. The 6 classic didn't replace it. Fail on your part.
The 5 pro is the better watch.
Apple Watch Ultra
Nothing like Watch6 Pro dude, the Classic has replaced the Pro. I wonder where you got your false hopes from@@chelious1973
7:59 how do I set routines. I simply can't find this setting.
Why have you missed body composition feature on galaxy watch ....
Battery usage on samsung watches isnt optimised until you have had the watch for some time. When it learns your general patterns it uses much less
btw the battery life on regular Apple Watch series 8 or 9 is hardly even 20 hrs, and their build is of Aluminium and regular glass which comes for the same price (Samsung GW 6 Classic).
Im actually confused why people galaxy watch just last them around 1 day half mine always last me for 3 and half sometimes 4 days ( except for the first 3days weirdly enough its like its updating and consuming more battery maybe because its pairing up or body checking me idk )
I have a watch 6 classic 47 mm (BT) and it barely lasts for 40A hours
Galaxy Watch lags when you do a reset. My GW6 was snappy and smooth until I did a reset. Now the UI is a bit jittery
12:39 I feel like it's already more than twice
I have the 6 Classic and I have noticed once or twice it had a hickup but the rest of the time it works very well. I am very pleased with mine.
The watch is in learning mode for a few days, it speeds up as it learns. It also add much more time. Mines is close to 4 days and i've had it 2 weeks. You may have to change settings which the watch then learns as well, but every time i charge it my battery life been increased.
Use it with daily 10.000 steps and 20 km indoor cycling workout with GPS. It's empty before u know it..
@@Tha-King-Arthur yeah!
I don't do that 😆
Really though, I only use things like that occasionally. I don't like charging.
Idk how that's possible. I got a 6 classic 47 mm (bt) and it barely lasts 40 hours
@beslimani6174 you have to reduce the apps running in the background. It impedes the enjoyment and interferes with the reason you bought it in the first place but greatly improves the time.
There are videos that help you increase the watch time.
Just a tiny remark: Forgot to mention Apple is twice the price.
He montins it but you have to watch the video
nice comparison, but you did not mention so many things :
1) all the health features that are running during night in the Galaxy , like blood oxygen , body temprature and more more .
2) you did not mention that are many features in Galaxy is not found in Apple watch like controlling other devices from your wrist . like my TV , lights and even my curtains at home
3) you did not mention that the OS of the Galaxy is open to the play store and many stuff can be installed from their like google maps navigation and many other important apps .
Yeah, I bought galaxy watch classic 6, it does lag, to wake it up, I have to wait for few seconds, sometimes scrolling lags
But the price of the watch ultra is too high as compared to the Galaxy Watch 6 classic.
Android has routines, and Apple has shortcuts…
I bought the samsung watch with the s24 ultra for 191$ CA compare to the 1100$ + tax CA for the Ultra, for me its a no brainer, price to value of the watch 6 is just insane compare to the high price of the Ultra
What's the watch face you use for the Galaxy watch 6
I have the WC6, and been an android user for ever. i do think the Ultra 2 looks better but at £800 and then it requires an apple phone as well doesn't make it feasible to switch over. Despite Samsungs claim about the battery I have found it needs charging every day with screen brightness on max, and i have found only 1 decent watch face that doesn't black out when on battery save. I use barometer, blood pressure, heart rate, running, gps and find it works really well for me.
Shortcuts on iPhone can do the same things as routines in Samsung i think?
Unfortunately not. Samsungs shortcuts are way more powerful and can be triggered by so many more actions!
Great video I got to say you have to retest the Samsung watch after the update. I am now getting two days on LTE but three months ago It was really horrible even though they did fix things with the update I’m still getting away from both Apple and Samsung, smartwatches and going Garmin.
That watch face on the GW6 in the thumbnail looks great. What is it called?
I think the performance comes down to the software on the galaxy watch 6, my galaxy watch 4 classic feels like it's a generation ahead of my brother's watch 6 in terms of responsiveness. I think Samsung just needs some time to optimise the watch 6 because it definitely has a better processor than my watch 4 classic.
bro is paid by apple
Actually apple watch is better i think your comment is paid by samsung
@@Protitoiy actually i think apple watch isn't and your comment is paid by Apple
@@Coal_XVII Actually yours is because apple actually have better specs in smartwatch even the sensors are better
@@Coal_XVII one is $300-400 and the other is $800. Not really fair when it comes to cost. 😅 Yet they both support their own ecosystem
@@Protitoiy bro stop glazing apple
Have both. Agree completely with these findings. Performance is janky on the GW6C but wow is it a fantastic looking watch and the rotating bezel is far nicer to use than the digital crown. Also, the Galaxy phones can reverse-charge the GW, which is handy in a pinch.
What is the digital watch face for samsung ? It looks amazing 👏
Agreed about the chip. The gestures are what I've learned to really enjoy. It gets confusing but a fun little perk. Maybe next year they'll step up the performance. I'll always be a samsung guy over the rotting apple.
Don't both these watches have Spotify on LTE?
I mean if you picked a darker watch face on the Galaxy watch it would probably last longer like most of the screen on the Apple watch is black but on the Galaxy watch it's literally all white not a fair comparison
Great content. Just wait till the watch 7 ultra comes out.
can't wait!
Please make a Comparison between any Apple watch 45mm (Series 7, 8 or 9) vs Galaxy watch 6 Classic or Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. ⌚
...because of...
..."ecosystem" 😅
Great comparison, Pete!
have the same reason why my galaxy watch has not been upgraded from a 4 classic, and I'm wearing a watch ultra as an everyday watch and special long weekend trips.
A problem I don’t have with Apple.
i checked apples website and they say the watch SE only last 18 hours, that would be worse then the samsung watch right?
Did you let the Galaxy learn your usage before the battery test?
Doesn't the Galaxy Watch have a titanium version?
Will the apple watch work with android if not I'll just get the 6 watch
I just made the switch from apple to samsung. When it comes to phone vs phone alone I kinda like the android better. But when your talking about full ecosystems, as in using the phone, watch, voice assistant all together.. apple absolutely blows it out of the water.
Do a comparison between Ultra vs watch 5 pro
is the Strong Fitness App available on samsung watch?
Yes - if you have a samsung phone.
lol how can you compare a watch that costs £399 to the ultra which is £650 ???
Because he's comparing the top of the line offering from Apple and Samsung......
The on-screen timer is an awesome idea! 👌
.... watch6 also support Google pay which support more banks vs Samsung Pay
great video, couple things....I have noticed zero issues with performance of my Watch 6 Classic and with 500 to 600 more nits on the samsung, it should have won that "battle".
Stainless steel is strong enough.. titanium is pretty much unnecessary 😂😂😂😂
LPTO screen is chinese lcd?
That sucks. I've never been a fan of the beats headphones, but their beats fit pro have been incredible for working out. Great ANC and audio quality, though no need for spacial audio. Spacial audio works so well on the max headphones 👌🏽
@@PeteMatheson Thank you Pete , I also had the Beats Pro until , I slept with it and then my dog ate it . When I bought the Beats Pro then I realised for sure that Beats Studio did not have spatial audio . Many times spoke to Apple many times , at times Apple was even rude . So got myself a redlmi buds 4 pro very happy specially HI def music and surround sound at $75 . A bargain for ears.
Als je het aod uitzet gaat hij een stuk langer mee
I would like to see a comparison of a regular Apple watch versus the Google pixel 2 with the w5 chip. There is zero lag on a pixel watch 2
Ouch, when you said Exynos cpu I knew instantly where it was going. It's like putting a Celeron cpu in your desktop computer.
you still can't play music directly from your apple watch without headphones... 😂
The Samsung watch uses standard watch bands. I can even use the bands from by grandfather's watch. 7:45
I have to admit. I wish my watch6 classic was more responsive. That's my biggest and almost only gripe with it.
Have you went into dev options and decreased the delay time to 0.5?
@@joshuap2574 yeah. Just certain things. It's just not as fast as they should be. I'm also being kind of picky. It's just the 6th gen already. If they want to take over the Android watch market just charge 50.00 more and give us a better processor. Or make a Ultra version. What's your opinion?
That's why i bought the 5 pro.. The 6 versions are way too laggy for me.@@4000marcdman
please learn how GPS work....
I’ve had both and the ultra is just way more accurate in terms of workouts , easier to use with work emails, teams, . Idk I think the ultra is just a better smart watch
I love the redesign of the classic even the ultra. But its something about the silver classic that i wish i would have gotten it but went with the black. Both are nice but the silver looks so sleek and flashy
Have you ever seen the galaxy gear S2 watch? Would you like that if it was modernized with todays slim bezels and a current gen processor?
