  • Being a medical doctor with MSF is exciting and eye-opening work.
From caring for malnourished babies in a drought affected region of Africa through to conducting rounds to survey trauma patients in a large Ministry of Health hospital after a bout of conflict in the area, MSF’s doctors provide lifesaving care every day in our projects.
If you think you've got what it takes to be an MSF Doctor, apply now: www.msf.org.uk/job-profile/me...
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare.

I am 18 years old and hopefully will be starting medical school at the beginning of next year. I am determined to work with MSF, and I pray that I get the opportunity to do so. To achieve this, I will give my best to become a good doctor and serve in pediatrics, helping all the children .

True Humanitarians help people regardless of skin color, but this organization does not help people of non color.

If they needed help, absolutely. But since there already are more or less well established social programs in place in most western countries MsF operates in the less fortunate places. It wouldn't make sense to send MsF doctors randomly all over the western world - that would defeat the purpose and is not how the world works. To find your local humanitarians look no further than the nurses, social workers, paramedics and others.

These kind of videos are degrading to Africans. Without fail, always locals in extreme poverty helped by a western doc paid by donations coerced through guilt and ego. What is most insulting is nowadays, these “charity” foundations ask for never ending-subscription instead of a one time donation because they know it’s a profitable business gained from the misery of others which they know will never be fixed under their current approach of taking advantage of young aspiring doctors.

I think it would be more degrading to let them die, but that might just be me. If you knew anything about the organization, you would also know that most of the staff is local, and in comparison to many charities that actually deserve critique, msf trains local staff to hopefully eventually be independent from the organization. Teaching the man to fish instead of giving him fish etc. They are transparent about their finances, showing you this "profitable business" is a non-profit organization. That not say much about the salary of leader which is often where the hypocrisy of some charities lie, but Joanne Liu, the president, just earns £76,000. I'd love it if you went to West Africa and told all the Ebola patients how sorry the west are for degrading them. If you don't want to donate, sure, but this is complete bullshit.

Why not work on a solution rather than beat down those that are working very hard to be a glimmer of hope. Take your dark cloud elsewhere.

Everyone has a right to live. MSF simply aims to do whatever is in its power to fulfill this very basic human right.
