I’ve been seriously thinking about the HS7s. But they suggest 3feet away from walls due to the rear porting. And now this comparison. The HS7s are out.
The HS7 are crystal clear, but where did bass go? I like to hear that bass in the first song, as it was clearly intended to be present, not something in the back. Nope that isn't mud IMHO. Surprisingly, G4 are closer to the real thing, I think. Thumbsup KRK.

If you’re farming an opinion about wish monitors sounds better simply based off this video I could tell you right now you haven’t been mixing are making music seriously very long I’ve owned both these monitors and I can definitely say that the G4 sevens has a flatter response it’s not the same as a G3 but definitely if you get the G7’s acoustically treat your room right in the high meds and high-end will sing to you versus the llama hearts EQ bump in around the 1000 to 4000 Hz range
So I've ordered the RP7G4's. I've tested the sound, and it's incredible. Only thing that's worrying me is that I see a LOT of people complaining about the idle noise being annoyingly loud. Has anyone experienced this? Can anyone recommend an alternative?
@Rogerio Matos it's really hard for me to say. I've been using them for music production and they're fantastic. However for mixing I'm using them in combination with my Beyerdynamic dt770s headphones for a more balanced sound.

Nothing in the market beats yamaha hs8 in the mids department. If you want stronger bass, just add a yamaha subwoofer and you'll have the best setup. Can't go wrong with a yamaha.
Same here.Currently I own the HS7 and I am missing some bass time to time. The radio where I DJ has the Rokit 5 G4s and it's a smaller speaker but has a nice punchy bass
Rokits definitely sound much warmer, and heavier on the low end, I wouldn’t need a sub if I mixed with these for sure. Too much color for me, makes it easy to get lazy on mixing heavy bass and so I think majority of music listeners won’t have high end gear and so low end doesn’t come out As much very well on car/phone systems but not so much it’s a big deal. Yams I went with them cuz to me they sound thin on the low end and cleaner on the high end, extremely flat and so adding the sub boosts the low end through the hs8 and you get a nice clean full spectrum. My sub sits only at the 30%iish range (10’clock) and it’s almost to much bass for me. Makes me really work on developing my bass sounds and creating fuller spectrums, however beware. Track from -30db to -18db for most high end instruments, since highs are so clean it’s easy to remove them And over do your bass if you’re not good at gain staging. I threw some ferrite rings all over my system , and I got no hum whatsoever and my hiss is only audible from 18 inches away in a silent room. I sit 1 and a half meter away from the speakers in a home studio .
the rokits playing the master sound closer to the original track . So that means the rokits will give you a more accurate feel. The yamahas simply highlight mids.
Hi guys, I need some new speakers..I’m a keyboard player on tour, but i also play my keyboards at home… I run all my keyboards in stereo into my Soundcraft EFX12 Mixer, then from there into the speakers… I’ve just sold my Yamaha HS7’s, I hated them! Awful sound and way too much midrange and boxy sounding, all I want to do is play my keyboards and sing through whatever speakers i now buy, also listen to RUclips and WAVS and MP3’s I do NOT do any mixing or recording… Would the Rokit RP8 or RP7 G4’s be okay for me? I will have to have them on stands and they will be around 8 inches from the wall, my room is square and no I don’t have any acoustic treatment… My room size is 9ft 2 inches by 9ft 5 inches Thoughts?
The rokits definitely have more bass which im not sure is good for edm mixing. It might cause you to think you have enough bass in your tracks but in reality dont. The Yamaha's are more even all around (flat). Basically if you want more bass, and mix in more bass youll actually hear it. You dont want to hear too much of one thing when mixing unless you actually add it and not the speakers. I would go with the more true sound, hs7.
It is hyped... KRK has always highly focused on the low end, throughout all their models... It's really challenging to monitor with them... Personally I prefer Adam A7X and Yamaha HS7
The KRK is much closer to the original and „nice“ to listen too. The HS7 is the better working tool cause the transients in the midrange can be much better analysed.
Just listen how Krk disappears as soon as u tune in not every speaker can do that , they do this 3d thing that is very helpful when you mix, i have Yamaha HS8 i love them for what they are but they lack depth
Digital Stereophony Thanks! How does the hiss on the HS7 compare to the Kali LP6? I just got the JBL 306P and the hiss is so annoying so I’m sending them back.
the rokits sounding horrible imo, no details when they are playing. I always love the looks of em , but soundwise i need tell alot of friends which uses them, to put the lows down when they play there new music on my genelecs 8040
To me, the bass and mids were marginally better in the KRK's. The overall soundstage seemed wider in the KRK's also....closer to the original. What is the original being played through? The highs seem slightly choked.
Больше всего понравилось воспроизведение на "original track". HS7 - ни о чём, KRK Rokit 7 ближе а оригиналу. Вопрос: на каких колонках воспроизводится "original track" - такие хочууу!!!
It’s kind of impossible buy them and test them out or just simply note that fact that every producer big or small typically has krk rokit 5s-8s and Yamaha hs7-8
@@malkogindrat would you say when you listen to the KRKs on speakers like laptop or headphones , that this video accurately represents the kind bass it has? It seems they obviously have more than the Yamaha but not like to the point that it would taint a mix but rather let you know what the bass is doing
This is shit. Record with a mic some speakers then listening the recording in another speakers and re-record the track from the tested speakers with another mic just to downgrade the sound with RUclips compression. Own both of it. They are just great. Krk are the best if you have walls behind them, Yamaha are the best in a controlled environment. Both are just fucking great
My Yamaha definitely lacks a lot in low frequencies. It maybe good for producing and mixing sounds without low end or checking high frequencies when producing, but when use it as a dj for mixing house music, always surprised by the mix when later listen to it on other speakers or headphones. I think that krk sound more realistic to original track. Thinking about exchanging my HS7 for HS8 wich are far more supirior in Low end and very clean or krk wich in my opinion is not as clean but just closer to original. Yamaha have the hs8s sub wich i belive is nice but at what price?
My thing is, the Yam's sound too flat. How can you get a good mix on something that sounds so flat and expect it to sound good on other speakers? The Yam's sound like they are in a can. The KRK's sound WAY better with better bass response and better frequencies in the mid to high end. They just sound like an overall more open and better sounding speaker than the Yam's. My vote goes to KRK. Anybody else have a cheaper yet more comparable option to the KRK's?
@@BigFlowShow Sorry man, they sound too flat to me and not nearly as clear as the KRK's. KRK has slightly more range according to the frequency chart and my ears and it helps when editing. However, if you can produce better mixes on the Yam's then I would say go for those. Saying they are the "best" is just a matter of opinion. Happy Mixing, -JDD

My rokits blew up after two and a half months, terrible build quality, now have the Yamahas
They sound really bad on my usd 100 phone, with airplane headsets.
KRK Rokit 7 G4 + Beyers DT990pro - thoughts?
+ sonarworks reference headphone and goodhertz can opener
Yamaha HS7 vs Yamaha HS8 please
Hs8 top
Hi guys, I need some new speakers..I’m a keyboard player on tour, but i also play my keyboards at home…
I run all my keyboards in stereo into my Soundcraft EFX12 Mixer, then from there into the speakers… I’ve just sold my Yamaha HS7’s, I hated them! Awful sound and way too much midrange and boxy sounding, all I want to do is play my keyboards and sing through whatever speakers i now buy, also listen to RUclips and WAVS and MP3’s
I do NOT do any mixing or recording…
Would the Rokit RP8 or RP7 G4’s be okay for me? I will have to have them on stands and they will be around 8 inches from the wall, my room is square and no I don’t have any acoustic treatment…
My room size is 9ft 2 inches by 9ft 5 inches
Thoughts?
I like hs7 more in my Beyerdynamics dt1990, they have more clarity and less low mid mud
you need those low mid mud for mixing or your mixes can end up muddy
@@circusreturn2397 I agree, sometimes monitors that are pleasing to the ear and are not suitable for creating a well-translated mix
Cual me recomiendan?? De esos
I like the Yamaha better! The high's and mid's sound cleaner
Is it just me or are they really close? Also, is the extra bass in the krk 7s hyped or just neutral?
It is hyped... KRK has always highly focused on the low end, throughout all their models... It's really challenging to monitor with them... Personally I prefer Adam A7X and Yamaha HS7
Bonjour, trop bien vos tests. là au moins on peut se faire une bonne idée. Merci
The KRK is much closer to the original and „nice“ to listen too. The HS7 is the better working tool cause the transients in the midrange can be much better analysed.
se nota bastante la diferencia, EN miS OIDOS suena es mejor el KRK Rokit 7
Just listen how Krk disappears as soon as u tune in not every speaker can do that , they do this 3d thing that is very helpful when you mix, i have Yamaha HS8 i love them for what they are but they lack depth
Does rokit g4 hiss more than yamaha hs?
RP7G4 hiss more than HS7, both are quite audible. On the other hand RP5G4 hiss substantially less than HS5, RP5G4 is very quiet in this regard
Digital Stereophony what’s the hiss like on the Yamaha HS7? Is it audible at 1 metre away? I’m looking at getting a near field setup.
In a quiet room HS7 will be audible from 1 meter
Digital Stereophony Thanks! How does the hiss on the HS7 compare to the Kali LP6? I just got the JBL 306P and the hiss is so annoying so I’m sending them back.
@@thetechnorat6466 Kali are over rated...not very detailed sound and scooped out mid frequency.
KRK So much better 👍🏻👍🏻
the rokits sounding horrible imo, no details when they are playing.
The highs seem slightly choked.
hip hop: MIX 5:12 YAMAHA 5:17 KRK 5:25
Krk Win. I have hs5 & krk g4!
do you have good mix results with RP5 G4 ? you have soundcloud page ? :)
Yamaha is really flat and for make music and mixing that´s the key.
Being so flat doesn't make you put too much bass when mixing? For me, a monitor should be balanced. Yamahas simply sound thin.
@@anderj02 true ..... i have the hs7 and the sound is not very flat !! the sound is metalic .... not natural .... and not bass enough.
Krk for the better quality and affordable price
Literally makes no sense to play sounds through the speakers and record them to hear through a set of speakers without that frequency response
It’s kind of impossible buy them and test them out or just simply note that fact that every producer big or small typically has krk rokit 5s-8s and Yamaha hs7-8
@mystix , with measured specs.
Both are just fucking great
rokit seems to sound just better
you can tell quite the difference, for me it sounds better the KRK Rokit 7
Krk g4 7 vs Kali Lp 6? Who win for you?
Kali lp 6 low end it's sound compared to krk 7
U completely wrong
Yhm is really flat and clear, thats becouse they the best for mix and master
@@BigFlowShow Sorry man, they sound too flat to me and not nearly as clear as the KRK's. KRK has slightly more range according to the frequency chart and my ears and it helps when editing. However, if you can produce better mixes on the Yam's then I would say go for those. Saying they are the "best" is just a matter of opinion.
Happy Mixing,
-JDD
krk have more bass yamaha have more high end clearnes
Yamaha HS8 top
the hs7 sound V shaped. Clear highs, decent punchy bass, where's the mids?
hs7 in V ?!! loooool I have this HS7 and there is a bump around 950Hz in the mids. check frequency response on Google.
The hs7 are precisely the reverse of a V ...... (a little lol)
@@ChrisBessy then my earphones are more v shaped than I thought!
@@conannanoc8768 thats possible hehe :) wich speakers do you use in your studio ? i'm searching new speakers ....
@@ChrisBessy i was using the krk rp6 but one died on me. I just bought a pair of focal alphas 65, once i get them i can tell you how they sound (in my untreated home studio)
The hs7 are the best for me I love them very much ❤🔥
KRK Wins.
I can't hear shit!
Beethoven
That rokit had its balls kicked into space by the hs7. Rokit sounds like a closed box. Hs7 sounds open cant make out the cabinet.
Creo que me gustaron los yamaha hs8 como monitor principal y los rokit 7 g4 como una segunda escucha.
Krk are similar to m audio
krk!!!
The Yamaha HS7 sound far more balanced.
Krk
listening thru hs7 😂
KRK
Очень трудно отдать предпочтение. Субъективно не понравились ни те, ни другие.
KRK здесь лучше, точно!
krk rokit 5 g4 sound very similar to rokit 7 g4 ?
Size matters my dude
No, rokit 7 sounds way better
YAMAHA TIENE MUCHO BRILLO Y AGUDOS, POCO BAJOS, POR LEJOS MEJOR LOS KRK 4GEN
the yamaha sounds like a Cheap horn
