    How do they stabilize the sand?
    I had never seen fill with sand

      You can stabilize the sand with allot of water or a lot of cement. This layer was a kind of drainage layer at that time. so we did not need any cement to stabilize

      This site is near the baltic sea in germany so there is a lot of sand you have to work with.

      @@snakecold6755 Not a dumb question. I have been building roads for 30 years and we remove sand when we run into it and replace with a compactable, non permeable material like clay or graded aggregate base that does not shift under heavy traffic. Your method apparently works or your engineers would not design jobs utilizing it. We here in the states just haven't seen it it, and are curious as to how it can be stabilized.
