She is such a cutie. It's no wonder she talks so well with you as her Nana - her role model and encourager. I am a speech pathologist and would love it if all parents spoke to their babies like you speak to Ana. Great job!
I'm new to your channel. It is AMAZING how young she was trying to talk. She has always been such a beautiful and intelligent girl and that is largely due to the amount of time you've spent working with her. She will go far in this world! LOVE and PRAYERS ALWAYS from Gainesville Florida❤🙏😊🙏❤
I started watching just today and was amazed that at five how mature her vocabulary, facial expressions and conversation skills are. She communicates like a very pleasant adult. I think its how patient and considerate she is with you when having conversations that is so charming. She is a joy. And now, watching this video, I see how early it began. She will touch so many lives.
I totally agree with you. They are both so amazing. Also, all the laughter and teaching from her Nana. Great Dr. Feldman as well. She is being taught so very well. What a great ROLE MODEL.
Anna is amazing at how fast she picked up language. You have done a wonderful job with her. She was such a sweet little baby I can see that all the joy that that she brings to your life.
I've seen Ana's videos before today and was delighted. Now I'm catching up on your story! It's an amazing story! Mostly I am so intrigued with your interactions with Ana, I've never met anyone so in tune with another as you are with her. You are a wonderful role model! And Ana at her tender age is a warrior of determination, she is AMAZING! Thank you so much for giving of yourself and sharing this wonderful story. Way to go Ana (you've inspired me) and Way to go Nana for all of your heart warming encouragement that you give Princess Ana.
That is one of the cutest and funniest videos I have ever seen! She is such a character… Ana looks the same as she did when she was a baby and all of her expressions are the same! I got a kick out of the “hi, Nana hi, Nana hi, Nana exchange!😂
Nana, you’re doing a marvelous job taking care of & training that little sweetheart! God has a wonderful plan and purpose for Ana and you Nana are an integral part of that plan! I don’t believe she’ll ever allow her limitations to get in the way of what she wants to accomplish! Never, never listen to the nay sayers!
Wow she never ceases to amaze me. So smart. God trusted you with his special little girl. He knew you were her best choice. I learn so much from God's Special People. 🙏 Your Amazing Ana. 👏
My girl was very verbal . 9 words 9 months. She did the same babble consistently when asked certain questions. Sentences at two. But a mini little thing. People were astounded. Didn’t try reading, but she probably would have.
I have a question about AMC...does it progress and get worse as they get older? The reason I ask is the clip of Ana at 10 months old on the riding toy, if I didn't already know, I would have never guessed there was anything wrong with her limbs. The appearance of her arms and legs look perfectly normal. It seems like her disability was less obvious than it is now. I'm only asking for educational purposes, so don't take this question the wrong way.
AMC is not a progressive condition. It is in fact regressive, meaning as they get older, their limbs regress and go back to how they were when they were born. AMCers are at their worst (as far as limbs being fixed/contractures) at birth. I think part of the confusion is that you're looking at it from an incorrect perspective. It's not about how the limbs look or how an AMCer presents/appears. Nothing about AMC is cosmetic, at least we don't concern ourselves with cosmetic issues. AMCers will never "look" the same as others. In clips you aren't seeing the limbs as they are due to clothing covering them or positioning. It also looks very different when the body is much smaller. However, what you did not notice (and it totally makes sense because you're not familiar with AMC) is that under the clothing and under the skin, she had severe contractures on all of her joints. Her legs were literally stuck in that position. Bent at the knees, feet turned sideways. Her arms were stuck straight, unable to bend at the elbows, unable to grab anything with her fingers/hands. At 10mo old she hadn't had a single surgery yet and had very little range of motion throughout her body. So while to someone who isn't familiar with AMC she may have appeared to look similar to other 10mo olds, structurally and internally her body did not work. She was stuck. Ana and I spent the next 5-6 years of her life going through major surgeries, doing hundreds of treatments, countless hours of therapy, to help her gain movement in her limbs. At 10mo old she could not even consider standing or learning to walk. She was not able to straighten her legs enough to walk until after her leg surgery at age 3. She didn't walk until she was three and a half. So while you may see her in shorts and t-shirts today and notice her clubbed wrists more and notice her knees more pronounced (because AMCers will always have super skinny limbs due to lack of muscle), her function and abilities are 1000x better than they were or could have been with her body how it was at 10mo old and her progress has just continued to grow and get better and better over time. She's built what little bit of strength she will ever be able to and she can do so much with her arms and legs that she never could. Now again, AMC IS a regressive condition so...if she stops moving, stops getting treatments periodically, stops wearing braces, etc. she will totally regress as she gets older. Not that it's getting "worse" but it's trying to return to what it was so she would/could lose ability/mobility over time. Contractures can reform, tendons tighten back up, etc. Anyway, hope that helps and makes sense! Always happy to answer AMC questions. Thanks! :-)
@@AMCPrincessAna thank you so much for the great explanation. I am just trying to learn more about AMC. So does all this mean that Ana will have to have treatments, therapies, braces etc. for her entire life because if she stops all of that she will regress? In other words will there ever be a time where she is through with treatments and surgeries and is cured or is it something that will continue her whole life? You are doing a great job with Ana and meeting all of her needs.
Although I have been following your amazing story for many years, I thoroughly enjoyed the replays. The three of you are such a beautiful family. It's amazing to see how Ana has grown and matured in just a few short years.
She is such a cutie. It's no wonder she talks so well with you as her Nana - her role model and encourager. I am a speech pathologist and would love it if all parents spoke to their babies like you speak to Ana. Great job!
You were born to be her Mamma and help her be all she can be!!!!
