Great video my friend - working on front drivers door and with it unlatched by coat hook the 'easy to remove plastic cap ' refuses to move! But I will get there - lots of excellent information. Many thanks.
For those who don't know how to remove the external handle on the rear door, I strongly suggest to practice on the front door first 10:54, as it's much easier, and you can scrutinize how the barrel locking mechanism works. I did just that.
ruclips.net/video/l2LsjOE8HmA/видео.html Sorry I know it was out of focus(installing part, but it is opposite removing), but more or less, just remove the cable plastic part form holder(which is pressed in, just by pulling it upwards), then pull or press the cable inwards with a little curve, so cable in door handle mechanism is in line with spacing in holder, then slide the wire through that spacing towards left side, it should easily move out, if it is needed press the moving plastic part of cable holder inwards.
Good job man 👍 i really appreciate your detailed work and will try it on my car. Next time bring a friend to handle the camera to make it easier for you 😅
Thank you! Yeah you can save money and nature, by not throwing old out part out and buying a new one, but by simple fixing it+ not too hard work, mine handle still works really good after the fix :)
just doing this and if you need to get the pin out what I did was knock it out with an alan key which I hit all the way through ensuring no mechanisms fell out and I could just whack the pin back in following the alan keys path once done... hope this made sense haha.
Hi there, to be honest I ve never tried it :D even before the fix, but tomorrow I will try to remember and test it out, though I dont think there will be any problems :)
@@JUrtanschannel Yeah test it because it is the only thing saving you if the remote key goes bad. I'm in that situation and the key is just spinning in the lock 😕
@@PappiH you can manually lock each door, above the lock mechanism there is a small hole with weird shape just rotate it(approx 30 degrees) an let it go, close the doors and they should be locked
@@JUrtanschannel Sorry to bother you. But do you know if holding the lock button inside for 5 seconds works? Engine off, driver door open, hold the lock button inside car for 5 seconds. Shut the driver door and everything should be locked. Just want to know it works to open with emergency key afterwards.
Just spent 2hrs trying to work on how to do this, didnt think of looking for a how to first DOH,thank you JUtans, thank you very much indeed
Thank you!
Thanks for the detailed explanations, it helps a lot. I’ve just faced this problem on my Scenic 2. Cheers!

What's about the rear one?
To remove the handle still need a hook on the hole?
Nice one mate, doing this repair tomorrow!
Thanks bro. I have got a Scenic II but it works same way.
awesome!
@@JUrtanschannel you could add scenic II to the title so people can find this easier ✌️
Great job friend!!! 👍👍👍👍
Percebi que você abriu caminho com a broca, mas Não precisou retirar o pino totalmente?
the best way to loosen that mechanism is using water. After it moves freely use wd40 and oil.
Kolego czy w scenicu 2 też da radę zdjąć sam ten górny boczek?
Oczywiście, po odpięciu wszystkich instalacji i wewnętrznego uchwytu. Do siebie i do góry.
Really helpful 👍🏼 thank you ☺️ !!
Thanks for your video attempting to do mine
Great it helped me a lot thank you
My door not open from the exterior, can you tell me what cause this problem?
Fantastic
Why don't the design it easier
Werid it's very hard to sort out
It's very expensive to do in garage
Awesome thank you very much
The best cleaner for rust is actually water, after cleaning spray with wd40
Thanks man!🍻👍
perfect directions thanks for the instructions ;)
Thank You!
Are you still able to lock the door with the small key after this?

@@PappiH I just tried mine doors, opens without any problems, just turned the key counter clockwise and doors opened without any problems
@@JUrtanschannel Thanks that you checked, I'll try to remove my cylinder and install it like you did in the video. Hopefully it will work
It was great, it was useful.
Hello again. I did this and now the key works. Thank you. But did your small key lock all doors when you tried? Or only one door?
Good to hear! I didnt test with all doors, but I think it works for only driver doors
@@JUrtanschannel ah damn. My key card buttons isn't working, I hoped the emergency key would engage central locking so I can lock the car
@@PappiH you can manually lock each door, above the lock mechanism there is a small hole with weird shape just rotate it(approx 30 degrees) an let it go, close the doors and they should be locked
