I have to agree. It was an okay first episode but personally I would have liked her to do more detective work than her just knowing everything from the beginning. It just takes the fun out of mystery solving for yourself. It was only the first episode and maybe it is more action based which is fine to me.

For starters cultural festivals usually happens during fall the time she died was during summer. The girl’s school uniform also changed(the girl one) chances are he is already in High School and no longer in Middle School. Depending on what year he is now we can determine if she stayed alive for a year or two.
in my opinion i think this anime’s gonna go like those detective stuff you might see on netflix. siesta might leave something behind for kimi to investigate on, and siesta’s death might lead to answers on the main problem or villain of the story (which is SPES) or maybe even siesta isn’t really dead, and he’s testing kimi if he’s worthy enough to become her sidekick.
@@uhoh2815 I’ve never read the manga so I can’t give a direct comparison. The light novels though are great, if you enjoy dark fantasy and a lot of gore I definitely recommend it. The the foreshadowing is immaculate, the character development and world building are superb. There’s hardly any filler so you get a pretty consistent storyline and the plot always feels like it’s advancing. As I said I’ve never read the manga but most manga being adopted from a light novel always have cuts so if you enjoyed the manga I’m pretty sure you’ll love the light novels.
funny that you mention sherlock holmes, siesta made a reference to sherlock homes when she talked about where she's from on the airplane. The back and forth between the leads reminds me of monogatari, and kimi's nickname literally means 'you' in Japanese and there's a joke between them when she gives him that nickname that some might've missed. Personally I don't think sieta is actually "gone" cause she's only shown two of her wonders, and that leaves a lot of room to play with. The ending of the show is also sung by a vtuber Kagura Nana, and if I recall correctly, episode 3 is going to cameo other vtubers too. Overall seems like a pretty good show that went above my expectations honestly.

Muse asia translated it as "artificial human", the novels translated it as "psuedo human", in that scene, the dialogue in the novels say that they use powers beyond human understanding.... so, no, this is not a sci-fi setting like funimation made it out to be.
I had already read the summary before the show started, which clearly stated this guy’s old partner detective died and he met a new person. When the show started I thought the white haired girl is the new girl and I was really happy cause she had a very strong personality. But then at the end of the episode I found she was the old detective partner who died and then some new dumb Tsundere is saying she has her heart and is trying to replace her. The rest of the series is just some flashbacks of the OG times with Siesta and is made entirely to break our hearts through multiple stab wounds over hours. By the end of the season you will be an emotional mess. People who just had a breakup or lost someone will definitely try to kill themselves now.
I dropped this after the first half cause there r too many questions and no answers, powerups that came out of nowhere, the sudden scifi and fantasy elements, kids not acting their age, reader insert kind of protagonist who, obviously, seems to get the girl without having to do anything special, mc contradictingly acting mature like an adult then being stupid like having a slow conversation in the middle of a fight and nearly getting hit by the tentacle thingy, abnormal reaction to abnormal events, and much more.

I agree with you on the ages. Even I thought he was atleast 21. Anyway I kind of like it because I need another young school detective. We already have Shinichi Kudou but in majority of the episodes he is like a 7 year old. It has been quite a while since I saw a mystery anime and was this much hyped .
Do not try to convince me that there was not at least one guy in your school that already looked like an adult at 14. It practically 99.9% guarantee that there is a couple of them in every school. This is a way more frequent and normal than androids and super power.
