I hacked this 3 - 4 years ago with dropbox... good to see it working in general .. I have a few DJ stations around the house and studio.. so great to see it in action.. (ps / thanks Pioneer Online team for the early guidande 3-4 years back)
I actually like this new version, especially the iOS app and Cloud Sync, since I have 250GB+ of music (now stored on an external HDD and in DigitalOcean Spaces - my cloud storage provider - so I can access my files anywhere with an internet connection using the s3fs software), and a MacBook Pro with a 512GB SSD. Obviously I cannot store all my music locally on my computer, since I do need more than 256GB free for work and other projects. I've subscribed to rekordbox 6 with the creative plan, but now I have to switch storage providers as well. OK so be it, but paying for both rekordbox and Dropbox is a bit *fucked*. I haven't upgraded my Dropbox account subscription yet, can you guys not provide a deal/coupon/collab with Dropbox for a discount on those plans for example? Or a discount on the rekordbox creative plan? I don't even necessarily want Dropbox, I'll only be using it for my music and rekordbox integration. Paying full price for both is not very customer friendly. Also I've just bought brand new Pioneer S-DJ60X's and a DJM-750MK2 a few weeks ago, it feels a bit unfair to only receive a rekordbox 5 activation code with that since I won't be using that version anymore. I hope you read these comments and provide some balance for your users. Usually we're not super rich. Some discount would make me a very happy user. I'm happy to pay for quality - I love the hardware, but all these web services are starting to cost me a lot. I've got 1password, rekordbox creative, DigitalOcean, various domain names, Google Drive, iCloud, etc. And now Dropbox on top. You get the point.
Hear, hear! It's absolutely fucked. NOBODY in their right mind wants to even use dropbox in 2022, much less actually pay for it each month. Screw all of that! It's a bummer because RB6 is finally coming into its own with all the integration, the mobile experience, etc. But the whole forcing one cloud data provider on everyone ON TOP of the RB6 monthly subscription fees. It's a step too far, and I'm out.
Man i legit wish i could set cue points and grid info from my phone casually while taking a dump or something. But i am not willing to pay an additional 28$ a month between rekordbox AND dropbox. Especially since i already pay for google drive to manage my different devices.
Is it now possible to send out saved cues to friends or to share them for learning routines ? This something we all still do with complicated Record Buddy....

Aloha, I also had a question about the ddj 1000 that I have on order. I read that the 32 bit chip was being replaced with a 24 bit one because of the fire in the China company producing the chips, and having to go elsewhere to get the chips. The article said that the high standard was not affected, but still, going from 32 bit to 24 bit seems like it would make a difference. My order with GC Pro is now delayed until the 24th and possibly until October. Will I be getting the 24 or the 32 if I get one shipped out on the 24th? Will that also be the case if I get one shipped in October. Maybe this is not a concern, but I just wanted to run this by you. Thanks, Gary

hello I have a question please I subscribed to the Creative plan, I have my dropbox connected and cloud as well but I don't see any way to upload my music from my dropbox to rekordbox. How do I upload those? I don't see any "Import songs" option on the settings. im on rekordbox ios using my ipad
Subscription aside the functionality here is awful. I spent so much time refining my libarary and now if I want to sync to the cloud all my tracks need to be moved or copied in my dropbox folder? If I chose to download the track on another computer it doesn't put them back into the original location it was on the other computer. Seems unnecessarily complicated and messy. Not a fan.
Awesome so yo have to pay $14.99 a monthly for Rekordbox then on top pay $11.99 monthly for 2 terabyte or $19.99 monthly for 3 terabyte dropbox services. This is outrageous. The cloud storage should be included in the Rekordbox package price. This is a cash grab. Shame on you.
My search in Library has changed & there are too many suggestions. How can I make the library more specific now that the sync function is on. I have lost some of the accuracy in searching for files.
This means two subscriptions to both Rekordbox and Dropbox not integrated (combined) means more unnecessary burdensome expenditure for those Artists/DJs on budget who may already have required subscriptions to DAW softwares, Online Music Schools, Soundcloud, Mixcloud etc for their creative work. Now plus Beatport Link, not that affordable. As everyone knows DJs libraries grow in size, which will then require more storage over time means more money spend on Dropbox with No flexibility of choice of Cloud Storage Services. Although, I have a free Dropbox, but have yet to upgrade for a number of year due high price. Dropbox Storage are one of the most expensive storage services on the market! This is not a variable solution for all Artists/DJs especially for either aspiring & upcoming who will be on monthly financial budgets. Not realistic either when Pioneer equipment already cost a lot of money when most Artists/DJs have to save up to buy Pioneer Mixers, CDJs, CD Controllers etc that's if they want to have them. Then this happens... Come on Pioneer Team, be realistic and fair to your customers and clients! Please wake up to the reality for all concerned. Credit to your team for a great/cool idea/concept you got there. Unfortunately, your overall plan is not realistic for most. Pioneer use to be affordable and cutting edge, but lately not so and your products are going to lose ground to competitors! Now I think that many followers of rkdbx switch to serato or NI maschine, since the update is not paid and is free. WTF with the new pioneer company.
I was about to buy a DDJ400. If i do, will i still be able to install version 5? If not, then that will basically mean that i'll be forced into paying a monthly subscription to use the hardware ?? Great video, I can't say the same with the product...not only it is expensive for non professional but the whole process is not intuitive at all, duplicates can arise with several computers, you have to click upload from the phone for each new playlists and in general the menus are looking complex with abstract options ( "?" some more help section would be nice). Thanks for offering the cloud option but what a headache....

bhoydavid1 export the library from RB5 and import it in RB6 without the audio files. As long as your music remains in the same folders Rekordbox 6 will find them when you import the library and all metadata will be there.

Like all the changes to RB..but having an issue on iPhone reflecting the changes done on my computer..at this time I only have the basic plan with Dropbox. I plan on only using a few new tracks to upload to the cloud.. I’m. Currently using DDJ-RZ.. but will be looking for the next wave of controllers that best reflects the changes that RB6 did.
its good they just need to add one more option to upload and not change the location or file structure associated with each file, when i use drop box it changes all the locations of my tracks to the Dropbox upload location which makes duplicates basically and missing files randomly it needs to be looked at and this should be a simple fix idk why it hasn't been made yet its possibly a Dropbox issue more than a RB software issue or it might be both, but when V6 RB came out i had to do a clean sweep of my whole library due to the fact RB changed the analyze tracks to add vocals and now I'm worried about this new 7.0.7 precision beatgrid setting it will happen again. I don't want to keep redoing the analyze process over n over again either it takes months to make sure its all updated with the Cloud etc...
This does nothing but allow you to sync Meta Data to the cloud. Anyone can use any cloud service to upload their files to already. This looks to me like they are doing it so you can edit files on multiple devices but seems more geared toward mobile editing on the App.
This is just a plain slap in the face for DJ`s and creatives that use Pioneer products. outrageous and even more coin grabbing than ever. What have we seen the last few years in innovation? nothing! and now you expect people to run a subscription? Denon is out there gradually gaining ground and I hope they kick every piece of pioneer equipment out of the booths now, I owned several Pioneer products and still run a few CDJ`s but I am now surely looking into replacing with innovative gear that triggers more creativity and features. This is the last straw and I leave by giving you two big fat middle fingers. This is a disgrace and disrecspectful and you should be ashamed.
By accumulating subscriptions, we will collapse under debt. It is racket 15 € x 12 months = 180 € per year. before it was 99 € for life. I hope that Pioneer will continue the security updates on Rekordbox 5 otherwise I would switch to Serato which is much better ergonomically designed and the sound rendering much better than Rekordbox...

the cost for storing the tracks i get, but the metadata? common pioneer seriously... gain some respect back and make this a standard feature with no extra cost.. i'm sure you can just take a small percentage from the MASSIVE profit margins you make on your hardware to cover the cost. i appreciate that rekordbox itself is free but so it should be when you sell a piece of hardware which boasts that ability itself, to work with rekordbox! now make the metadata syncing free ffs.
and do all of this on the in the dark on the shitty club wifi while the spinning ball of death doesnt let you click anything in rekordbox and the track is 19 seconds from ending into complete dead silence on the dancefloor because your next track is in the "cloud"
guys. you really need to step up your software game. rekordbox 6.0.2 keeps crashing on macos mojave. i can't event sync playlists between usb sticks now. how can i use my players when i can't export songs to usb sticks. i'm seriously considering selling this setup and switching to denon or something. i can't even login to your forum to comment. your website sucks, too.
it is funny after all these years you guys come up with a 9 min video that explains bs lol it is somehow ok you charge for cloud sync but at least get your own servers so you don't need to make bs videos explaining how to connect dropbox. Must be kidding right? I bought 2x CDJ-2000NXS2, 1x DJM-900NXS2, 1x RMX1000 and 1 HDJ-X10C Limited-edition. And now i have to pay over $300 PER MONTH to be able to use all of that???? PIONEER YOU SUCK! And still not able to save and load playlists from mapped network shares??? (only physical drives). And no option to use any other online cloud-storage? (dropbox sucks), and still no Android app???

Just use cds
$240 for pioneer to store only the tracks metadata - a tiny amount of text for each track you have. They are going to make killing off of this.
The 240 $ include the Dropbox subscription but it's nevertheless heavily overprized as you said correctly

its good they just need to add one more option to upload and not change the location or file structure associated with each file, when i use drop box it changes all the locations of my tracks to the Dropbox upload location which makes duplicates basically and missing files randomly it needs to be looked at and this should be a simple fix idk why it hasn't been made yet its possibly a Dropbox issue more than a RB software issue or it might be both, but when V6 RB came out i had to do a clean sweep of my whole library due to the fact RB changed the analyze tracks to add vocals and now I'm worried about this new 7.0.7 precision beatgrid setting it will happen again. I don't want to keep redoing the analyze process over n over again either it takes months to make sure its all updated with the Cloud etc...

This does nothing but allow you to sync Meta Data to the cloud. Anyone can use any cloud service to upload their files to already. This looks to me like they are doing it so you can edit files on multiple devices but seems more geared toward mobile editing on the App.

By accumulating subscriptions, we will collapse under debt. It is racket 15 € x 12 months = 180 € per year. before it was 99 € for life. I hope that Pioneer will continue the security updates on Rekordbox 5 otherwise I would switch to Serato which is much better ergonomically designed and the sound rendering much better than Rekordbox...

the cost for storing the tracks i get, but the metadata? common pioneer seriously... gain some respect back and make this a standard feature with no extra cost.. i'm sure you can just take a small percentage from the MASSIVE profit margins you make on your hardware to cover the cost. i appreciate that rekordbox itself is free but so it should be when you sell a piece of hardware which boasts that ability itself, to work with rekordbox! now make the metadata syncing free ffs.

guys. you really need to step up your software game. rekordbox 6.0.2 keeps crashing on macos mojave. i can't event sync playlists between usb sticks now. how can i use my players when i can't export songs to usb sticks. i'm seriously considering selling this setup and switching to denon or something. i can't even login to your forum to comment. your website sucks, too.

Must be kidding right? I bought 2x CDJ-2000NXS2, 1x DJM-900NXS2, 1x RMX1000 and 1 HDJ-X10C Limited-edition. And now i have to pay over $300 PER MONTH to be able to use all of that???? PIONEER YOU SUCK! And still not able to save and load playlists from mapped network shares??? (only physical drives). And no option to use any other online cloud-storage? (dropbox sucks), and still no Android app???
