    My antenna wire snapped on an activation this year as well in -20c. Still managed the activation, though. Some wire really does not like the cold. 73 de VE6JTW. Also subbed great content!

      The thin wires go really brittle when it gets colder like that, especially the aluminium ones. Good thing you managed to save the activation!

      @LB4FH I use a trapped multi band efhw, It snapped at my 2nd trap so I was able to quickly call cq and get my 4 cw contacts. I started carrying my 2m with me again after that.

      Good to have flexible antennas for those events@@CdnRockiesRadio. I usually go for wire binding like this, or use a backup antenna that I always have in the backpack. 2m is unlikely to give me any contacts where I live
