First is the whole hinge thing being too loose and not tight enough to hold the screen, second is the keyboard “feeling cheap” as he said, and last is the lighting zone on the laptop keyboard being only one zone. Can you tell me your opinion of those issues ?
@@sadek__4952 none of that is anywhere near as bad as you may think. Hinges are as sturdy as they should be for a foldable hinge, they’re good. The keyboard is hard because it needs to be so it doesn’t feel mushy when you flip it. Still feels great to type one. Doesn’t feel cheap at all. And yes it’s one-zone RGB but I mean that’s not a big deal 😂

XG mobile deserves an upgradability score of its own. Thunderbolt laptops don't always perform well with an eGPU, as you demonstrated with a recent video. You could also consider doing it for TB laptops, but it will require you testing whether it's actually a good setup that's worth considering, i.e. more testing. XG on the other hand should be optimized and work well. It might even encourage continuous support of the platform by ASUS, given your reach as a laptop reviewer.
I got this laptop last week to replace a Z13 Flow that I've been using with he 3080 XG Mobile. The main reason being that I've found the Z13 battery life really abysmal when I've taken it on work trips - it's great at home and docked. I chose the X16 as something that would be powerful enough and with a good enough battery when traveling, but able to keep using the investment I'd already made in purchasing the XG Mobile. Even though the 3080 is not a huge step up from the 3070Ti, it still is to some extent, and takes load off the laptop by idling the 3070Ti - and is a good docking solution on top of that. The X16 by itself is amazing and frankly wows me, but I'm having issues when using it with the XG Mobile. It's completely fine when doing productivity work, but when playing games for extended periods, sometimes I will see brief interrupts where performance tanks, and Armory crate type mid-screen popups come up saying it's switched to Silent or Performance - and then it almost immediately switched back to turbo and everything is fine again. This happens several times an hour. Also, this was with the X16 connected ONLY to the XG Mobile, and not also to its own 240W AC adapter. When I tried connecting the X16 ALSO to the AC adapter at the same time as the XG mobile, the phenomenon was a little different. Instead, a few times an hour, the mid-screen popup flashes "connected to power" briefly, but there is very little, or no temporary dip in performance. I don't know if I am doing something wrong, but this can't be correct functionality with the XG Mobile surely....?
Asus is the pinnacle of engineering, it's sad how Nvidia, Intel, AMD cannot optimise their hardware with software (I know windows isn't first party) as Apple!
I have one right here and it connects just fine to my TV in 4K 120Hz 10 Bit 4:4:4. This is an HDMI 2.1 port. You can also flash a 150W vbios from the Zephyrus Duo and get up to 13.000 Timespy Graphcis. Very solid device.
That's great info to have, thanks! I wonder why it gets reported as 2.0b on a constant basis... (I own this model, but no 4K@120Hz-capable display where to try such mode). Is it safe to tweak it up to 150W? I mean, doesn't that increase thermals too much? Cheers.
@@Avelinovski It is safe, but not worth it. @150W the cooling system cannot keep up and it will start to thermal throttle after 5 minutes or so. Up to 140W is possible with the fans blasting @100% and the CPU boosting disabled. So not worth it in the end. I returned the device, had too many issues with it. Even at its stock 125W the fans were just too loud under load, even compared to many other gaming laptops. I had very bad Wifi reception, constnat lag spikes up to 250ms for no apparent reason. Also the display is just weird. Normally with an HDR display brightness is set in HDR mode and there is a slider in Windows to adjust the brightness of SDR content. If you do this right, the Desktop does look good even in HDR mode and you do not have to switch constantly. With the X16 it is the other way around. SDR brightness (when HDR is enabled) is set in stone, but you can adjust the brightness of HDR content. There you have your pick of "Very bright, but crushing all details on bright content" or "does basically look like SDR". Furthermore, there was constant anoying flickering on the Desktop when just browsing the web. Overall, not worth the hassle.
I think the XG mobile port can count because it is better than just thunderbolt docks from what I remember, but at the same time it is proprietary so, idk.
At this rate, ASUS will figure out how to fit a numpad and front facing speakers in a 16" laptop by next year. Because a 2 in 1 laptop can't be this good at everything. This is black magic.
recently found your reviews and love your testing methodology, aswell as thoroughness, this review convinced me to even get a flow X16, and I love it! definitely worth a sub!
I'd be really interesting to see how this laptop would handle being used as a graphics tablet. It's so bulky to have to cart around a separate tablet as well as a beefy laptop to handle the animation software.... This honestly sounds like a promising solution
Great review as usual Jarod ❤️ For this one specifically though, I would have liked to see more testing on the performance and software compatibility of the pen. This is of particular importance to me (or rather, my mum) since this is one of the only ~15'' laptops with a powerful discrete GPU and a stylus, all of which are critical features for her. For some context, my mum is in her 50s and at the head of a design studio. She regularly needs to annotate/review large 3D models and high resolution renderings, so she needs both powerful hardware and a good stylus. Also she is heavily myopic, so she finds anything smaller than 15'' uncomfortable to use. Quite picky yes, but that's also part of the reason she's willing to pay a high price tag. Currently she is using a 2017 Surface Book 2 15'', which was basically the only option back then that satisfied all those needs. However the performance is starting to feel lacking in 2022; the questionably-designed detachment mechanism also gave out a few times which made the GPU unusable; finally it's a repairability nightmare so forget about trying to swap out worn out connectors. Long story short, she is in the market for a replacement on the precondition that there exists a good one, and honestly this one might just be it. I have to look at other reviews that take a deeper dive on the stylus though before I make this recommendation.
Hey, you ever find out anything about compatible styluses/pens? Seen some forums where people suggest the ASUS Pen 2.0, but they seem to only be available on the secondary market. Also, seen some people suggest any MPP 2.0 compatible pen. Just curious as I just got the ASUS Flow X16 (2022) and was looking for a good stylus/pen.
@@jmdenny5068 so I did actually buy this device for my mum and it was okay. In terms of pen compatibility, the ASUS pen works alright (as you'd imagine), although I cannot recall with certainty whether I got v1 or v2. Surprisingly, her old Microsoft pen also works just fine, so I assume there's some standard protocol going on (which gives me some confidence that third party pens will probably be just fine too). The main complaints she had were: 1. The default colour profile is too vibrant, although adjusting it in AMD's driver software was rather easy. 2. General instability and inconvenience with the piece of crap that is Windows 11. Nothing much you can do about this unless you're jumping ship to Linux.
@@scheimonghey, I know that you've already had this comment necro'd months later once, but I just wanted to suggest the Wacom bamboo pen. It's excellent, I initially got mine because many people, across a broad array of devices, suggest getting this pen rather than various stock pens. I use mine on multiple devices across Android devices, a Mac, Windows, and Linux desktops. If I recall correctly (never a safe bet with me) it's compatible with multiple major pen standards, which makes sense because I've always had zero problems with the eraser and other features. Finally, it's got a very natural feel in the hand and multiple 'nibs' (pen tips). The tips offer greater flexibility with narrow, broad, etc, as well as one called 'blue' which has some advanced functionality and performance with compatible devices. I'm a man, so maybe the pen fitting better in my hand may not apply to your mom if she's got smaller hands, but I've read all over the internet about the pen when I was shopping around and I don't recall a single comment saying it doesn't feel nice. Maybe an idea for a birthday or Christmas! They're not much money.
It'd be great to do a comparison with the MSi summit E16. It's the only other 2in1 with a dedicated GPU as far as I know. Especially on content creation :)

I am more interested in the Duo Pro (with OLED screen/non-zephyrous) but this is also pretty amazing. Would love a long term review of the Duo Pro or this.
@@gee9099 I am waiting in hopes there's a Duo Pro refresh this year since I want something a bit less gamer-y. If my patience wears thin I may get this year's Zeph Duo and just put a vinyl on the back or something.
@QuantumConundrum Hey! Thanks for replying! It's great to hear your opinion about it. I'm definitely leaning towards one that is more intended for gaming so that's helpful. I don't have a lot of time to choose one so it's hard to narrow things down quickly. Edit: I also want to add that I heard the Pro Duo has issues with docking and staying cooled when closed if using an external monitor. I wonder how true that is?
@@gee9099 The heating issues make sense due to the focus on the opening vents under the second screen + slim design. I think the Zeph Duo has side vents/fans, so that's a safer pick in your use case? Best of luck, hope you enjoy the duo life
The sentence at the end is true, I still remember the Lenovo Notebooks with the "swappable" gtx 765m via slot (was also a sli version but not sure if that was the swappable one). There never was a gpu to swap it for. The XMG-Mobile does seem to have a kinda higher chance but considering that it is close to impossible to get one ( at least here in europe were I live) I'm still doubtful and won't factor it in my purchase decision.
Finally, I've been wanting to buy this laptop for a while now but literally didn't because I was waiting for your review, thank you for this. I'll go buy it now.
14:30. Uh, this thing is going to get used mostly indoors. You can just tilt the display, adjust the laptop placement, close the curtains, etc. You do know the reflections aren't that big of a issue, right?
@@JarrodsTech Oh man its not like you can, you know, control the light inside your room. Oh does this also mean you use your TV exclusively in a dark room too since its got a glossy display? I had this laptop for a day till I returned it. The complaints I had were high pitch fans and the absurdly bright screen at the lowest brightness. If you go low brightness with mini led, theres so much blooming that it just looks awful. Maybe I could have lived with the fans but any night time use just kills your eyes Otherwise a fantastic piece of hardware. I'm almost considering buying it again as there a sale going on for RTX 3050 ti model with the max spec eGPU for the same price as I had paid for the RTX 3070 ti model without eGPU, but the brightness factor is just too much
Wow. I've never even considered that a screen could be _too_ bright. Now you've given me something else to think about I was actually thinking about getting one of these.
@@MLHunt If you have a laptop atm, try and see if you could find any data anywhere how the brightness looks on it on lowest setting and then compare it to the one the Flow X16. I don't think I've seen a laptop it the 60s in lowest brightness pretty much never on Jarrods channel To put into perspective, I used the G14 earlier this year (returned it too due to high pitch fans and trackpad issues) and it was already for me a bit bright but manageable and its lowest brightness was in the 20s, Flow X16 is in the 60s Ofc if using multi zone mini led you get it dimmer but then you need to know if you are ok with blooming. Can't really say how bad bloom it is, was too much for me personally. On macbooks it is probably way less as there are more mini leds in the screen than the Flow X16
The minimum brightness is a little bit high (honestly a luxury to complain about that these days, lol). High-pitched fans sounds like it may have been a defect, as mine has a very pleasant, neutral pitch. I'm in the RUclips comments right now (dark mode) with mini-LED on and low brightness and it honestly doesn't look that bad. Switching to single-zone (takes about 5 seconds) completely eliminates that issue.
My guess on the CPU power cap is because they probably can't get it to cap the power lower automatically when it detects it's in tablet mode. Or it has no sensor that can tell the difference between tent/flipped and full tablet mode. This is what I would do too if there's no clear way for the laptop to know if it's on tent/flipped mode or has the touchscreen right against the intake vents. At best the CPU's own thermal management will do it but then it'll blow hot air onto your hand or elbow or chest depending on how you hold it when on tablet mode. ------- As for the specs, I'm kind of disappointed there's no AMD Advantage with 67x0m or 68x0m option. AMD usually asks for vapor chambers, and since there are no ports on the back, a vapor camber extending to the back with fins right there will have more thermal mass. I'd even take that over the XG Mobile connector for a few reasons: 1. Wasn't there a tendency for NVidia and AMD GPU drivers to have conflicts? Before it was just the old G14 not switching over to the NVidia GPU, IIRC laptops with AMD chips and NVidia GPUs get some software hiccups with one or either XXG Mobile chip. 2. If I'm going to use this as a desktop replacement this is less likely to make me want an external screen than even a 17.3in screen. Partially fold the screen over and it moves the screen closer to my eyes/external keybaord. Sure without like a laptop stand on a monitor arm it'll sit lower but unless the hinge totally sucks I can just angle it. Or just put it on a monitor arm like that and still have the screen closer. -------- As for XG Mobile connectors and TB getting counted for upgradeability I'm not too hot on including either for now. Maybe when TB5 with more bandwidth (and also USB4 allowing this on AMD CPUs) and when Asus actually comes up with RTX 4000 and RX 7000 versions so there might be some continuity?
14:49 jarrod already has the new razer blade 15 2022 240hz oled model i think we might get a new review of this laptop... i m sure its gonna be probably the best thin and light gaming laptop since msi ge raider hx is super costly and would break my back when i want to carry it
I find it funny how laptop cameras still are this bad in so many laptops! I rarely use the camera so it's not a deal breaker for me, but a nicer quality camera should be expected in such expensive machines.
did you ever test it on gaming when the laptop on tent mode , i'm wondering if there any thermal difference between Tent mode and laptop mode , since the fans get more air when its in tent mode Thanks
I have both the Z13 and X16 along with the XG Mobile 3080. The X16 has a strange issue when attached to the XG Mobile. It will randomly cycle bewteen power profiles Silent,Performance,Turbo while gaming. I tried everything with no luck. A few other X16 owners have reported the same problem.
I bought the 3060 model a month ago, this model number was listed with a miniled screen on the vendor website and on many others. I realized quite quick that the screen was an ips (the box was saying just LED) then i bring it back to the shop, but the stupid vendor was telling me that the screen was a miniled, despite having no hdr options, no full aray multizone option as well, but it was hard for me to prove it to him and he end up telling me that i had to install a screen driver, it took 3 days for him to accept taking back the machine, then i noticed that a week later they updated the website to put ips instead of miniled. It was the day of my birthday, i end up without any present since the miniled model is not sold in my country, i'll wait another year to upgrade my curent laptop
One thing that make me disappointed for this laptop is i can't getting any model with miniLED display + FreeSync Premium / IPS only (indonesia) But yeah, specification may vary by regions/country + This laptop is one of many laptop (AMD ryzen 6000) that you can upgrade one Type-C to USB4 What do you think about this Jarrod?
Just picked up the Asus X16. Does not like to be USB-C charged (with/without XG Mobile). Considering it as a replacement to my MSI GS65 with 9th gen i7, RTX 2060 and 32GB ram, but the price difference I paid was 1500 vs 1750 for the Asus. Aside from the better screen and performance..it is still a hard decision if it is a keeper or not.
This seems like a good machine for a professional driver, that spends over a month away from their full size gaming rig. I would be playing AAA SP campaigns on the road. If anyone has a better idea, let me know. I am looking for mid to high end hardware. This seems great.
Given the current situation in many regions, the 3060 equipped units may come with just a more basic yet still touch-enabled highly reflective IPS screen, not the key benefit to this model line, its extra bright and highly contrasty miniLED screen. This kind of defeats the purpose and makes the 3060 overpriced over the G15 and M16 counterparts only giving the 2-in-1 form factor and 2 SODIMM slots for the bonus MSRP. So the 3070ti becomes the obvious choice, then the question is whether get just the laptop and have limited ports and unused IO possibilities (until one gets the XG separately eg. once next gen is released) or spend more for the laptop + nearly impossible to get otherwise ROG XG Mobile with 6850mxt now in an entry package... but that costs $4000+, so it's not such an easy choice when GE77 in i7+3070ti guise typically costs 10% less than the Flow with same GPU while being possibly more performant (though bigger and bulkier and not as great looking due to the heavy RGB focused/driven esthetics).
I have this machine and ABSOLUTELY LOVE the form factor and power. HOWEVER, my machine has been blue screening constantly. Had it RMA'd once already and all they did was put a new drive image on it. But it still blue screens. Starting to see other users on Reddit with same issue (and in china as well). Jarrod... Any chance I could get you to check your Event Viewer (System) and see if you are getting any "A corrected hardware error has occurred. PCI Express Root Port" errors? These errors are FLOODING my event log. Like many per second constantly until it maxes out the log. Makes me so sad that I have the perfect blend of specs (for me) and spent so much money and I can't get a stable machine.
Yeah, those hinges need to be stiffened, my friend's Samsung Galaxy laptop have one of those revolving hinges as well and after like two three yearS of use, those hinges gave out and the laptop screen have to be opened at a 90 degree angle and can't be tilted. If you tilt it too much then the screen just flops down
There are a few things though that would make this laptop more perfect: 1. Function key lock 2. XG mobile as an enclosure for a GPU, not a GPU 3. Type C charging port on both sides
Jarrod please I really need your advice... Is this X16 Portability is good enough?? I travel a lot during weekdays, and 2-1 gaming laptop is great that I can play games during long commutes (preferably on my lap, using controller) My big question is, should I buy X16 now, or should I wait for a "14 or "15 future 2-in-1 laptops? Will there be such a thing soon? Thankyou
It's not particularly heavy/thick, but I guess it's personal preference and depends if you want the bigger screen. I don't think it's that much bigger than a 15"
I'd say that if you really need it now, you can just directly buy the 14" if you prioritize portability with little bit less performance. I doubt that future smaller inch laptops will have significant weight changes, however one thing about next year is the new CPU & GPU which might have usual improved performance, better save if not urgent
Need help. Is the digitizer on it bad? Does it have the grid like structure where you can see small boxes that the entry level 2 in 1s have because that looks very ugly. Also, my usage is very limited. I am buying it just for the screen..i want it to be best..i will be watching movies, browsing and note taking..do let me know if it is made for me..will really appreciate your reply.
Jarrod's review touches on a lot of important points, in fact Jarrod's earlier video on this laptop was what really made me buy this thing, so I thought I'd put my two cents here for anybody looking to buy this: - Like Jarrod said, the Hinge is not the stiffest, but I don't think it would be wrong to call it strong (although this is something only time will tell), it's just that the hinge is slightly loose. - The speakers are pretty nice, but don't expect phenomenal music quality, it's still a nice set of speakers that I'm happy with - Coming from a much older laptop, one thing I really appreciate is the big touchpad, I've noticed that I actually use the touchpad as opposed to the mouse on this laptop - If you're really keen on getting a stylus, do get a bluetooth one - This thing is small, as opposed to my older 15.6" laptop with gargantuan bezels, this thing is sleek, and looks fantastic - I changed out the WiFi card pretty quickly, as the one in here can get pretty messy At this point, the only thing I think Asus can really improve on their next iteration are probably the webcam, the speakers, the WiFi card, battery life, and if possible, Sleep. I constantly keep comparing this laptop to the MacBook Pro, which is a fair benchmark considering that the Flow X16 does cost as much as one.

Wait, complaining about the screen flipping around. I thought all the Reviewers said the gold-standard was being able to open the lid with one finger. Why should screen wobble or flop matter, as long as you can open it with one finger.
I guess ideally you want both. You definitely don't want it flopping around though. It needs to be stable/sturdy enough to stay in place while you're using it.
can you review RAID0 (striping) performance, on Asus laptops, with dual NVME disks? this is supported in Asus BIOS, and will boost both read and write speed.

Instead, a few times an hour, the mid-screen popup flashes "connected to power" briefly, but there is very little, or no temporary dip in performance. I don't know if I am doing something wrong, but this can't be correct functionality with the XG Mobile surely....?

The flow x16 under Linux now has working speaker control and brightness control under kernel 6.1
Haha. Asus is pretty stubborn about sticking to bottom firing speakers.

recently found your reviews and love your testing methodology, aswell as thoroughness, this review convinced me to even get a flow X16, and I love it! definitely worth a sub!
Great to hear!
Just got the 3070ti version and I absolutely love it. Great Review!
I bookmarked the website since I'm planning on buying one at the end of next year's July.
Extremely useful, thanks so much.
I'd be really interesting to see how this laptop would handle being used as a graphics tablet. It's so bulky to have to cart around a separate tablet as well as a beefy laptop to handle the animation software.... This honestly sounds like a promising solution
This is basically my dream laptop. Only needs to be half the price lmao
Great review as usual Jarod ❤️
For this one specifically though, I would have liked to see more testing on the performance and software compatibility of the pen.
The main complaints she had were:
Had This laptop. Was satisfied till graphic card started to bicker about 4k monitor. Returned it. Bought Lenovo Legion i9 and never looked back
It'd be great to do a comparison with the MSi summit E16. It's the only other 2in1 with a dedicated GPU as far as I know. Especially on content creation :)

I am more interested in the Duo Pro (with OLED screen/non-zephyrous) but this is also pretty amazing. Would love a long term review of the Duo Pro or this.
Did you choose one? If so, how is it going with it? I'm trying to decide between these same two.
@@gee9099 I am waiting in hopes there's a Duo Pro refresh this year since I want something a bit less gamer-y. Note that this year's Zeph Duo has very good colors with mini led (not sure if it's new but this is what I heard).
I upgraded to the Flow X16 from the 2022 ASUS G14. I love everything about the X16 more except speakers. The G14 has a little more bass.
Finally, I've been wanting to buy this laptop for a while now but literally didn't because I was waiting for your review, thank you for this. I'll go buy it now.

Uh, this thing is going to get used mostly indoors. You can just tilt the display, adjust the laptop placement, close the curtains, etc. You do know the reflections aren't that big of a issue, right?
Yeah. I plan on sitting still in a dark room every time I want to use my laptop.
@@JarrodsTech Oh man its not like you can, you know, control the light inside your room. Oh does this also mean you use your TV exclusively in a dark room too since its got a glossy display? Perhaps you sit in a dark room to use your glossy screened phone too? Or did you put a matte screen protector on your phone.
My 27' iMac with a glossy panel has zero issues with reflections. My glossy display phone has zero issues with reflections indoors. But a laptop, has issues with reflections? Come on.

After a year.. How has it held up?
Been waiting for this review 🙂. Appreciated.
went with an X13 and i absolutely LOVE it, it just couldnt be better...
I still say laptops especially more expensive ones they need to add third hinge for better screen support.
I had this laptop for a day till I returned it. The complaints I had were high pitch fans and the absurdly bright screen at the lowest brightness. If you go low brightness with mini led, theres so much blooming that it just looks awful. Maybe I could have lived with the fans but any night time use just kills your eyes
Otherwise a fantastic piece of hardware. I'm almost considering buying it again as there a sale going on for RTX 3050 ti model with the max spec eGPU for the same price as I had paid for the RTX 3070 ti model without eGPU, but the brightness factor is just too much
Though to be fair, the blooming on Mini-LED is better than Grey across a normal IPS.
@@cameronbosch1213 Hard disagree tbh. Let's say you are in RUclips commen section, it looks just really bad on the mini led
I don't think I've seen a laptop it the 60s in lowest brightness pretty much never on Jarrods channel
To put into perspective, I used the G14 earlier this year (returned it too due to high pitch fans and trackpad issues) and it was already for me a bit bright but manageable and its lowest brightness was in the 20s, Flow X16 is in the 60s
Ofc if using multi zone mini led you get it dimmer but then you need to know if you are ok with blooming.
4:01 I guess I will need to check this with each new laptop I am wanting to buy and when it eventually arrives label it
I don't understand why a lot of my favorite design screen laptop don't offer any dedicated graphics when they have folding option

My new dream laptop! ❤
Finally after a year, i got this laptop :) Display Mini Led HDR is amazing.
-------
As for the specs, I'm kind of disappointed there's no AMD Advantage with 67x0m or 68x0m option. AMD usually asks for vapor chambers, and since there are no ports on the back, a vapor camber extending to the back with fins right there will have more thermal mass.
I'd even take that over the XG Mobile connector for a few reasons:
--------
As for XG Mobile connectors and TB getting counted for upgradeability I'm not too hot on including either for now. Maybe when TB5 with more bandwidth (and also USB4 allowing this on AMD CPUs) and when Asus actually comes up with RTX 4000 and RX 7000 versions so there might be some continuity?
as Asus promised, they now have XG mobile with 4090, and is compatible with this X16 2022 (and X16 2023) :)
14:49 jarrod already has the new razer blade 15 2022 240hz oled model i think we might get a new review of this laptop... i m sure its gonna be probably the best thin and light gaming laptop since msi ge raider hx is super costly and would break my back when i want to carry it
Would love if you add a section about fan noise during web browsing and doing daily tasks
Agreed, I can vouch for this one though that it’s basically dead silent doing that. No annoying pulsing fans
I hope they update the XG Mobile to the Nvidia 40 Series Cards! Pairing this with a 4080 XG Mobile would be sick!
I find it funny how laptop cameras still are this bad in so many laptops! I rarely use the camera so it's not a deal breaker for me, but a nicer quality camera should be expected in such expensive machines.
did you ever test it on gaming when the laptop on tent mode , i'm wondering if there any thermal difference between Tent mode and laptop mode , since the fans get more air when its in tent mode
Thanks
yes the temp drops loads in tent mode, i can vouch
I have both the Z13 and X16 along with the XG Mobile 3080. The X16 has a strange issue when attached to the XG Mobile. It will randomly cycle bewteen power profiles Silent,Performance,Turbo while gaming. I tried everything with no luck. A few other X16 owners have reported the same problem.

@@denshaSai I'll give that a try.
One thing that make me disappointed for this laptop is i can't getting any model with miniLED display + FreeSync Premium / IPS only (indonesia)

Ty for that great review!
Wow, that camera quality is amazing
The biggest selling point for me is the 16-inch, BRIGHT 500 Nit DISPLAY.
Couldn't care less about XG mobile, 2-in-1, or anything else.

If I fold it, can I attach keyboard and still play pc games? Thanks
Great review on the ASUS Flow X16 I think this may have changed my mind from buying a G15 cause of some of the features
This seems like a good machine for a professional driver, that spends over a month away from their full size gaming rig. I would be playing AAA SP campaigns on the road. If anyone has a better idea, let me know. I am looking for mid to high end hardware. This seems great.
How is the pen and touch screen for digital artists? Does it compare to an external Wacom drawing pad?
Oof, no gsync with the mux switch off is a bit of a bummer. I'd probably keep it on just for the freesync availability.
The wow sound effect :0
i have it since a a half a year and i absolutely love it
Given the current situation in many regions, the 3060 equipped units may come with just a more basic yet still touch-enabled highly reflective IPS screen, not the key benefit to this model line, its extra bright and highly contrasty miniLED screen. This kind of defeats the purpose and makes the 3060 overpriced over the G15 and M16 counterparts only giving the 2-in-1 form factor and 2 SODIMM slots for the bonus MSRP. So the 3070ti becomes the obvious choice, then the question is whether get just the laptop and have limited ports and unused IO possibilities (until one gets the XG separately eg. once next gen is released) or spend more for the laptop + nearly impossible to get otherwise ROG XG Mobile with 6850mxt now in an entry package... but that costs $4000+, so it's not such an easy choice when GE77 in i7+3070ti guise typically costs 10% less than the Flow with same GPU while being possibly more performant (though bigger and bulkier and not as great looking due to the heavy RGB focused/driven esthetics).
at 100%cpu load mine was running at 95 degrees. is something wrong with my device then?
Unfortunately, mine was a review model so I had to send it back.

my last 2 laptops are Asus because they actually care about innovating or having good specs in their laptops
There are a few things though that would make this laptop more perfect:
1. Function key lock
2. XG mobile as an enclosure for a GPU, not a GPU
3. Type C charging port on both sides

Jarrod please I really need your advice... Is this X16 Portability is good enough?? I travel a lot during weekdays, and 2-1 gaming laptop is great that I can play games during long commutes (preferably on my lap, using controller)
My big question is, should I buy X16 now, or should I wait for a "14 or "15 future 2-in-1 laptops?
Jarrod's review touches on a lot of important points, in fact Jarrod's earlier video on this laptop was what really made me buy this thing, so I thought I'd put my two cents here for anybody looking to buy this:
- Like Jarrod said, the Hinge is not the stiffest, but I don't think it would be wrong to call it strong (although this is something only time will tell), it's just that the hinge is slightly loose.
- The speakers are pretty nice, but don't expect phenomenal music quality, it's still a nice set of speakers that I'm happy with
- Coming from a much older laptop, one thing I really appreciate is the big touchpad, I've noticed that I actually use the touchpad as opposed to the mouse on this laptop
- If you're really keen on getting a stylus, do get a bluetooth one
- This thing is small, as opposed to my older 15.6" laptop with gargantuan bezels, this thing is sleek, and looks fantastic
- I changed out the WiFi card pretty quickly, as the one in here can get pretty messy
At this point, the only thing I think Asus can really improve on their next iteration are probably the webcam, the speakers, the WiFi card, battery life, and if possible, Sleep.
