@noahlee4812 wearing gloves while handling antique books and manuscripts is one of the biggest misconceptions about this topic. I’m not sure where you got your information from but it’s not correct. Interestingly enough, wearing gloves is actually more harmful than not wearing them. This is has been proven by science and many experienced professionals. You can look it up on the below websites:
Library of Congress
Portland State University Library
Smithsonian Institution
British Library
The National Archives
And many others! I appreciate your concern, but it’s best to handle these amazing items with dry and clean hands.
