Kieran is by far one of the best written rivals we ever had in a long time. I love the concept of a typical friendly rival slowly turning into a jerk rival. Plus I love the fact that much like Nemona, he’s not a pushover and placement for being the Blueberry Academy’s top trainer is legitimate and understandable.

@@purkle200 tbf, in this dlc, we can see that she does care for him. We can also see that she's hella buried in her work.
This does not by any means, justify her actions. I'm just giving possible reasons to her anger issues and she really does seem to try and curve them. This may not be as regular as I thought it was.
Also, I don't like Drayton that much either. Carmine warns us about him but nothing comes of that. We get snippets of him being questionable. Like him manipulating your words to seem like u wanted to jointhe league club but other than that, he's kinda just there. He also kept on calling Kieran "ex-champion" to provoke him. Like once was enough but u had to do it again after he clearly looks like he's not fully there mentally. I also love how they gave all the shit to Kieran fir acting like an ass like they didn't just put a 12 yr old in charge of a big ass club.
Funny enough, a Choice Band Ogrepon with Play Rough can one-shot his Tera Fighting Hydrapple at level 93+, assuming max IVs and no EVs. So bringing a Level 100 just to one-shot Hydrapple would be the ULTIMATE insult to injury for Kieran.
Kieran uses Incineroar??? He clearly is a VGC player
Imagine everyone's reaction when a shy and nervous kid goes on a trip comes back depressed and then becomes a drippy bad@ss and academy's top trainer
Then gets embarrassed and loses his sht in front of everyone and breaks down completely when you put him in his place. Then he snakes you and you save his life and yall get through the bs together and become friends again.
Carmine reacts to Ogerpon as well. If you bring her out during your first battle with her in the central plaza. Glad they made the decision to add these lines. Would’ve been weird if they said nothing when they saw her.
Perrin also reacts if you have the Hisuian Growlithe she gives you on the team, and also reacts if you evolved him.

Since Carmine was just Nemona but more toxic, I always thought of Kieran being a megalomaniac Ash Ketchum.
Nemona = Yandere
Carmine = Tsundere
WHOA! I WISH I DIDN'T MISS THIS OMG- I didn't use Ogerpon in this battle because of how weak it is compared to my other Pokemon, but honestly as a hardcore Kieran fan I LOVE THIS SO MUCH AAAAAAA
As a person who knows the VGC a good bit and often plays doubles on Showdown, I just had her because I just needed a good standalone Pokemon, and as soon as I heard him say that line I felt so bad it hurt because I didn't think about it.
Kieran was the easiest of the Blueberry folk for me.😂
I just didn't bring Ogrepon since it really isn't a staple for my team. I wonder what he'd say by the end.😂
Tbf it depends on ur team comp but he was one of the hardest fir me. Drayton was by far the easiest
My team was Venusaur, Blissey, Garchomp, Kingambit, Gogoat, Orgepon(Rock type form)
He wasn’t the easiest for me, that goes to Lacey but I was definitely the best equipped for his specific team,
I started with Hitmontop and Whimsicott, both ended up dying but Whimsicott did some damage and got a tailwind up.
Then I proceeded to destroy his entire team with Electroshot boosted Archaludon and Meteor Mash boosted Metagross

I don't know how accurate this info is but i heard if you bring Ogerpon out there's a increase chance of her being targeted by both the opposing Pokemon from Kieran.
So if you put Spiky Shield or Protect on Ogerpon you might be able to cheese the battle lol just slap a U-Turn on her as well

I only needed my Hearthflame Mask Ogrepon and Archaludon (holding an Assault Vest) to deal with Kieran’s entire team. I Terastallized Ogrepon immediately because I knew a Hurricane was coming from Dragonite, I didn’t want it taking a super-effective move, and I wanted the Attack boost from Embody Aspect.
I also took advantage of the rain to use Archaludon’s Electro Shot without a charge turn, which also boosts its Special Attack by one stage with each use.
My ultimate was

Hisuian Arcanine
Hydrapple
The battle was interesting
I like that Carmine reacts too when you fight against her in the beginning.
I also had a ton of fun against Kieran. He's an incredibly well-written rival and a great fight. I beat him last night (the reason for not watching this video sooner) and was having the time of my life throughout the whole thing. He actually put me up against the ropes, with only my Dachsbun and his Incineroar left facing off. I was convinced I was going to lose, but my Dachsbun managed to clutch up and land a critical hit Play Rough against his Incineroar which won me the battle. Shoutout to Perro de Pan for carrying that!
Heres something interesting: If you bring out Ogerpon against Kieran here, they actually made it so he will begin to focus on Ogerpon until it either faints or is swapped out which considering his reaction, it makes perfect sense.

Me and my friend did the DLC together in my switch the team was my Pokémon were Baxcalibur Quaquaval Revavroom and he had Skeledirge Tinkaton Pawmot
We leaded with Baxcalibur and Skeledirge
Turn One
I one shotted with a Crit his Dragonite and my friend switched out with Pawmot
Kieran sended his Incineroar
Turn 2
Pawmot used Wild Charge on Politoed Meanwhile my Baxcalibur used High Horsepower on his Incineroar
Turn 3 was same as turn 2 but Politoed got KO
Kieran sended his Porygon-Z
I beated Incineroar and My Friend's Pawmot used Close Combat that crit on Porygon-Z and he beated my Baxcalibur
Turn 4
Kieran Sended his Grimmsnarl and i sended my Revavroom
My Revavroom used Gunk Shot on Grimmsnarl and my Friend's Pawmot used Close Combat but got K.O by Porygon-Z
My Friend sended out Skeledirge
Turn 5
We beated his Grimmsnarl/Porygon-Z
Kieran sended his Hydrapple
Turn 6
I used Gunk Shot on Hydrapple but he K.O me and my Friend switched out on Tinkaton i used Quaquaval

We Beated it
