@@theunknownparanormal Luckily, I'm in Manhattan and there's a good scooter repair shop within walking distance. Went there and got the tube replaced for $50. Money well spent in my opinion.
I watched them replace it. They had an electric drill with an allen wrench drill bit that unscrewed the disc break screws very easily. I'd say having that tool is key for doing this repair. Trying to do this with a shitty allen wrench will lead to huge frustration and potentially stripped screws.

So the thing with split rim tires is that before going on the scooter at all you MUST check air pressure in BOTH tires before riding. Make sure the pressure in BOTH tires has a proper amount to the riders weight 😂 And remember DO NOT JUMP them !!! If it’s not brutally obvious that a split rim would be overall worse with impact and not popping your tube due to what’s known as “tube pinch” due to it being a split rim !! ❤

TLDR: The perfect example of when the engineer doesn't talk to the mechanic scooter.
If only it was that easy...... The OEM innertube when pumped up slightly protrudes and blocks the ring from contacting the motor. This blocks the holes the 6 bolts need access to and pushes the motor in the wrong direction. Forcing a balance act of pressing both sides while simultaneously trying to secure the bolt in the TIGHT threads.
The video shows the innertube receding into the tire once air is pumped which is not what happens with the current produced OEM tubes I bought (from apollo).
I honestly would advise everyone to NEVER buy one of these scooters, the replacement of the rear tire/innertube/motor assembly is nearly impossible and terribly designed. What purpose does the rim ring installation order serve when attaching the motor? The assembly could be a singular piece, put the tire/tub over the motor then secure the ring on the exterior to ensure it doesn't dehub. Major design/ease of use flaw for no reason, the rev was out for like 5 years and this is the design yall signed off on? On top of all that the hardware is super low quality, even just mocking up the ring to the motor without the tire/tube assembly, the brand new bolts were like threading a needle, like I was tapping new threads. Why would you use such precise hardware for the most commonly replaced part with such little margin for error. The rev for example (superior in every way but suspension) can still function when the tire/tube is placed over the motor. The ring secures the assembly further. If the hardware was to fail on the securing ring, it could still function. With the Apollo, if the hardware were to fail or backout, the whole thing is fucked. AND ITS HARDER TO PUT BACK TOGETHER. Not to mention the hardware is far more robust on the rev and actually seems like it was meant to be put together.
Why are you guys reinventing the wheel when more simple designs are working and are more functional? Saves everyone time and money. You could have just asked 3 of your friends to replace the tire for 100 bucks to have a real world test of how the inevitable matainence would go. Disaster. I'm not even mad at this point, just sad I spend my money on this. I could be riding a far more ergonomic scooter with the same specs, at the same price :(. At this point with how stupid the design is and how unpractical attempting to finesse these ogre made parts together. I would be happy maybe joyous, throwing away this $2000 dollar scooter. Knowing that I would never have to change the innertube again and that a well designed scooter is destined in my future.
