Islay Festival 2017 - Laphroaig

Despite getting off to a wet and windy start, Laphroaig distillery’s open day for the Islay Festival 2017 eventually drew out the crowds today (30 May).
As visitors gathered in the distillery’s courtyard to taste old and rare drams, sample fresh seafood and listen to live music, Scotchwhisky.com editor Becky Paskin stole a moment with Laphroaig distillery manager John Campbell to find out about this year’s festival bottling, Cairdeas. Joining them at Laphroaig’s Warehouse 11 are two of the festivals farthest-travelled visitors, Wayne from Cape Town, South Africa, and Jeff from Melbourne, Australia.
