  • In 1982 Marc Singer ("The Beastmaster"), took on the role of Tom Sullivan, in this semi autobiographical film based on the life of a blind singer composer and (now) public speaker. The film features many of the real life trial tribulations and even antics of Sullivan, his best friend (played by R.H. Thompson) and the loves of his life (played here by Shari Belafonte-Harper and Sarah Torgov). Some of the incidents depicted in the film have been slightly altered to what happened in real life (i.e. the swimming pool sequence as seen in the film is different than what happened in real life. The child who almost drowned was actually Sullivan's daughter-in the film it is a friend's daughter). The film features a terrific score with songs written and performed by Tom Sullivan and even features a rare duet with singer Helen Reddy. This beloved film has yet to be released on DVD.
