Thank you for your service sir. Your inner thoughts can be your worst enemy sometimes. Just know people around you still need you. Don’t be afraid or ashamed to talk to someone when times are rough. You’re more than welcome to send me a message anytime friend.
That's absolutely true Everyone who served or is currently serving has gone through something that'll stay with them I thank you for your service and sacrifice for our country
But we’re still brothers. And we have so many brothers we haven’t met yet, but love us all the same. 11B of the 101st, vet here. You don’t have to be alone if you don’t want to be.
When my brother was deployed overseas as a Marine, my mom never wanted to answer the door. She dreaded having the 2 soldiers show up. He made it home though. :) Bless our troops!
@@Crunkz21 the survivors guilt in the video would hit different though, since it is genuinely his fault that and he let his squad down...not trying to be hard or whatever just saying that a lot of people that suffer from survivors guilt only feel hurt that they survived and their buddies didn't, but this situation is different, he survived and his buddies didnt because of a mistake he made
As an 8 year ongoing vet in the Army, this video hit me like a Mac truck the first time I saw it. It really does show how being deployed can impact your soul. Amazing reaction man
My daughter is a Marine and her hubby is spec force, so they are both in the sand box. My oldest daughter rappels out of helicopters into forest fires - she's a wildland firefighter. I imagine just like you, I don't get much sleep!

Thank you brother. 12 year combat vet before the 2nd IED took me out... 19 men died trying to save my life after the medivac helo crashed. I get this song.
I'm german and sadly not many people here really support our troops as hard as americans support theirs. It's probeably also because of our history that people are scared of saying they like the military but I think they could support them anyways. I mean they risk their lives for us so why the hell does noone really care about them. Thats why I watch videos like these so I get at least a little feeling of anyone supporting troops. Idk if you even care about german troops but I'll post this anyway (cause my dad is deployed in Afghanistan at the moment).

This video is a damn good reason to support and talk and respect all of us veterans .....have no idea of what we go through on a everyday basis...support your troops past and present...
This was originally done by The Offspring. It's more of a love lost type song, but FFDP turned it into this and they're huge military supporters so it works in this case too.
My husband is active duty, I'm a military wife of 10 years and work with the PX. Thank you for putting a little light on what these men and women have gone through.
I subscribed because of your reaction..... it's obvious, you are intelligent and compassionate ... I felt like I was watching with a friend... I'm glad I found you... Be blessed, be safe...
Civil war seems closer every day. The sad part is, if it wasn't for the lies and misinformation in the media and our politicians, we wouldn't be where we are. I watch videos/reactions like this one and I talk to people I meet. We are not that much different and we are not that divided. We are letting a tiny group of people put us on the verge of civil war.... And the media is loving every second of it. Tragedy and chaos sells.
So the garage scene is what we call survivors regret. I remember on my first deployment, I lost my best friend. The only thing that comes to your mind “why did I make it and not them?” I’m a USMC vet. Yes we’re tough but behind this tough Marine in me, I’m still a human being. Don’t thank me for anything but thank my brothers and sisters who never made it back home. Those are the real heroes not me. Till this day I’ll stand for the flag and kneel for the fallen. Semper Fi
I'm a new subscriber just came across your channel. Loved your reaction. My brother is a Marine and I truly appreciate it when reactors take the time to give awareness to what they and their families go through daily. There are times when we can't talk to him for months because he's on a special mission and can't communicate with anyone. That can feel like an eternity. Thanks again I am so glad I came across this video 💚
PTSD and Survivors guilt are the 2 biggest things a soldier carries away from a warzone. He was suffering from both. None of us ever really came home from the war when we came home from the war, especially those of us that served in combat.
The hardest detail I ever volunteered to do especially when kids that called me Uncle openened the door with a smile followed by their mother. 1,000,000 times harder than doing our job in country!!!
When listening to this; I flashed back to the 60's when the Vietnam war(conflict) was going on and protest songs were everywhere. Today's technology ups the game, but we're still here waiting for our brothers and sisters to come back home.
When the bear falls to the ground... Such a slap back to reality for what our heroes and their families go through. And I'll admit, as a vet, that's where I break down every time.
From someone with 9 deployments under them... can you imagine being on point... missing something... Thanks for sharing! Respect! Please do one for Wrong Side of Heaven! It has an Important message that needs to get out as well! Thanks!
first let me thank you as a veteran,i served 14 years u.s army. second yes i took a oath to this country, but my oath was to the american people first.3rd my oath is not over i will always protect the people of this country until my last breath.and people do not get why we go into harms way so easily,we would rather fight them there than on your doorstep.and last us that served are not heroes we did what we signed up for the real heroes did not come back alive.
The whole video is hard to watch. But the garage scene is so accurate when he’s in his ptsd episode. I love that they portrayed the ptsd episode the way they did in the garage. I honestly did everything that this guy did except for push ups I would run to try and come down. And I ended up getting my gun taken away from me after a couple episodes so I can definitely relate to the scene
My friend was a medic. She done a tour when the Afghan war broke out. She still has really bad nightmares about it. She told me what she seen and it sounded like hell.
Yes they have to go to your door and notify next of kin. I'll never forget meeting the officer and sgt that notified my best friends family. I joined luckily my family never got notified from my 6 years.
By the way, this is originally an Offspring song, about the lead singer's (Dexter) gf who passed away With that said, 5FDP did this song justice. It's like Cash doing Hurt. Amazing
