"I love this car" Paul has finally realized what he truly loves.
This guy complains everywhere , USA, Asia, getting old must suck .
Hey Paul, well, listening to you on this car vlog, you don't sound very happy there. Lol. I was in the USA for two months.. couldn't wait to leave and get back to the Philippines. Luckily i have an SRRV visa so it isn't a problem. You know. Dating in the USA.. its really expensive. I remember.. i couldn't afford to date. I lived pay check to paycheck in the USA. Stressed out. Hated my job. Now, back in the Philippines.. like you were. Watch Netflix til late at night. Sleep in. Go for walks, sunset, surf, beaches... life really is so much better here. If you can live a simple life.. living on $1,400 usd per month is easy.. and way better. At least my opinion. But hey.. you got out before the typhoon.. so you were kinda lucky! Good luck to you there in the Texas. Come out to San Juan if your back in the Philippines! be cool to meet you in person! Cheers, Mark
Good luck dating any Woman under the age of 40!
Good luck dating any woman our age in the US!!!
I can see Paul dating a nice big Fatty over there...
Fair enough. You cannot re-create here what you experience there. Become a monk instead and just pay for services when you want them.
What are you talking about . People do smile in the U.S.A. My friend told me that people in the Philippines don’t know how to say please and thank you . People in the Philippines change a lot too . She said they’re not friendly like before.
You look like a millionaire driving a car than being in a public transportation. Life is better when you’re busy than doing nothing. It Keeps your brain more active.
The bible says the same thing
you have made a huge mistake that you will regret for the rest of your life. in the US you are a nobody again. what is life without love?
no money no honey
yeah, he said he missed alot of things but he never mentioned missing Mia.:(
Sounds like you’ve got your life back. But if you ever return, make sure you don’t get involved with a young female. You need a mature, well educated, stable and of course attractive woman. You really should consider Japan or Korea. The women are traditional and conservative and many are highly educated.
Tell that to every Man has a story Mark wants to leave the Philippines
You missed Odette typhoon cat 5
You are like most of us Paul we had to take care of business before pleasure. Good to hear from you hope things go smoothly and your able to fulfill your dreams.
Life is better in the USA! It’s better than doing nothing .I’d rather be busy than just sitting outside a coffee shop most of the time , lol
Generally yes until you retire! My girls were born in the Phils but live now in LA as US citizens-they would rather work here as a RN as so much more here with money-pensions-potential etc.but they enjoy visiting the Phils
@@BarnabyBarry yes I would just visit but not live in the Philippines
Enjoy your work and your life back here in the USA Paul! Me personally, I would NEVER trade living here for some other third world country even though I enjoy traveling and have traveled to 7 countries already. Next year, I booked a 3-week vacation for July in the Philippines even though I have already been through Kidney failure, Dialysis, and a kidney transplant. As long as my health continues to hold on, I'll take it year to year.
For those thinking the grass is GREENER on the other side, analyze your situation very carefully. My teaching career ended when I became disabled 3 years ago so I REQUIRE complete attention to my health EVERY DAY! On top of this, my house is paid off so another FACT is that I will be paying MUCH MUCH more in bills in any other country to live than here, where I ONLY pay for utilities incurred on a month-to-month basis.
After you see how cheap it is to live there you might see a different light
Assuming you got to pay rent/mortgage to pay in both countries you can live very well off $2000 in south east Asia. Living off 2000 bucks a month in U.K. I’d be living quite a modest live style so in the states it’ll be a lot more modest I’d imagine.
Each to there own but to me the idea of living in a condo 10 minute walk from the beach is quite appealing.
To an extent I would have to agree with you. Given that my home is paid off and I live in a relatively inexpensive part of the United States, life is very affordable here. From time to time a little travel abroad breaks up the monotony, but old boy do I love my home country
The worst thing back here in America has to be invisible to young attractive women as an older guy. With so many corporations going WFH full time, was there any opportunity to stay in the Phil’s and work a western job?
Thats Why i left the USA to live here in the Philippines. Dating in the USA is soooo expensive. Cost 100 usd just to go take a lady out to eat and movie. I couldn't even afford to date. And after 3 dates.. if you are lucky. you might get a hug! lol. Now, My apt is 4 min from the beach. No more work, no more stress.. just sunsets, walks on the beach with my pretty 33 year old GF, surfing and live music. Cant beat that! ;-) OH. and an occasional vlog of my day. Walk and talk on the beach. Its just a hobby.... ;-)
America is not a happy place at the moment. Maybe next year…
I'm sad to see you back here. $$$ without happiness sucks. I do understand you have to have $$$$$$
The best advice my mom ever gave me was "you will get a lot farther in life with honey then with vinegar" In other words no one likes an A-hole. LOL She worked as a senior escrow officer for many years. A very stressful job, as there is always something that would come up that needed a RUSH before escrow closed. If you've ever bought a house and gone through escrow you know things don't always go smooth as silk. Buyers, sellers and agents were not always easy to deal with when it came to closing escrow. Even during a stressful escrow she would keep the HONEY flowing to get it closed.
You are correct sir, people are very stressed out here. Can't get a smile out of anyone. A lot of it well most of it ok all of it comes from these idiot's running it.. Good luck with your change and don't piss to many people off where you work.. Take Care.
Always smile 😃 I learned that from a Filipino call center guy I was venting on 😡 after all my disrespect and arrogance he ended the call by saying "always smile"!
Best lesson ever!
I'm gearing down and turning engineering efforts over to my junior engineers. Looking forward to retirement and travel.
Hello Paul, I am filipina leaving in Southern California, originally from cebu. Been here in the USA for 33 years. Love it here in the US because of the convinces… Stick with it, it will get easier. Enjoy and don’t work hard.
living not leaving
its better here in the Philippines... :-)
You probably love it in the US for the money more than anything...
if you went back to the Philippines you would need a srrv? god knows when it will open with omicron.
Paul, first of all regarding people not smiling or the lack of smiling are residual affects that are by products of a few things. First of all just as in the rest of the world especially as in Europe, the people in the US are fed up with the COVID stuff and people are at each others throats over it d/t the confinement. This has really taken a mental toll on all of us. 2ndly in not wanting to delve into the politics of things, the people in this country are very much divided politically. You have just dropped on to the scene after being away for 3 years and are essentially oblivious to all of the pent up hatred that has developed over the last nearly 2 to3 years with regard to the election. The tragedy of it all is that it is still lingering in the air so as a word of caution walk lightly and do not discuss the politics here. As far as you missing P.I. those are residual affects that as you continue to work those vivid memories will slowly fade away.
As a retired person from the oil industry after 48 years the type of work we do gets in our blood and we become addicted to it. The interaction of being around of allot of very well educated people is very much gratifying. As you know inflation is high at the moment due to the bottleneck of foreign shipped goods being on ships setting in the bay in and around Los Angeles and Long Beach. There may be some deflation beginning to take affect sometime nest year. Now is not the time to buy a house so wait awhile. So just do your best to keep your head down and save your money. My wife and I have family members in Cebu City so it will be quite sometime before we return there. I have set my sights on Penang, Malaysia when it eventually opens back up.
You dodged a bullet … Typhoon Rai … have a great New Year. As the PH has closed down to foreigners, how do I claim that coffee you owe me?
Well here in the US an explosion of Covid cases in the rise as of right now. So people are more stressed as it is. People dont have the jobs they wanted before or not going back at their previous jobs and wanting healthy well paid working environment. Or simply not working at all. The republicans blame the unemployment benefits was the reason for people not going to work and when that ended last August until now still people are not going back to work. They simply move back in their families and staying in one roof to save on rising rent cost due to poor zoning laws. Too many people moving into cities and not enough apartments to house them. Homelessness is everywhere. But i rather be in the US right now rather whats going on in Australia. PH right now you dodge a bullet from typhoon Odette. No power right now in the hard hit islands in the Visayas.
I lived several years in SEA but came back in 2018 and bought a house in San Antonio. I now drive a school bus which covers my expenses and has great benefits including a 10 week summer break to travel where ever. I consider it the best of both worlds: personal safety, financial security and peace of mind of the States with annual travel abroad for fun. I do not want to be one of the many guys over there who have to make it work or else.
I enjoyed your video and and am glad you're doing well but I was disappointed that you didn't take a minute to give your condolences to all the philippine people who died and to the countless thousands who are now suffering from the aftermath of the typhoon.
He will, give him time
@John Wray, to be fair I haven't seen ANY coverage of the Typhoon here in US news. If I wasn't on RUclips I wouldn't even know about it. I'm sure since Paul said he's been working LONG hours he probably hasn't had time to watch any RUclips channels from the PI.
Paul’s Asian adventures in Texas
No...life is good
Paul dont feel bad i ask myself everyday why the hell i am still here been here forever and it really does suck. Have u met any of our nice hippos yet lol. I personally would have never left the PH I am heading to Thailand as soon as possible but good luck to you
Can’t you do this job from online based in Asia? Oh btw you know a storage box room place in Cebu?
I do understand where you are coming from but Life in the USA is still good but fast-paced. There are millions in this world who would give their soul to live in the USA. I am not sure where you live or are but where I live people are still awesome and friendly.
WELCOME BACK 👍
Sound was good. I bet you did not miss the typhoon. It was bad.
Welcome back to the grind! Maybe in 20 years you can go back to the PI….
I bet paul will be back in 6 months! ;-) lol.. i left the USA to live here in the Philippines. My apt is 4 min from the beach. No more work, no more stress.. just sunsets, walks on the beach, surfing and live music. Cant beat that! ;-) OH. and an occasional vlog of my day. Walk and talk on the beach. Its just a hobby.... ;-)
Make some money back later spread the good vibe
Your gonna miss the Philippines but you did dodge a bullet by leaving before the typhoon. Good luck
Paul, just becareful of the hippo's, they can get very aggressive.
When you make a decision, you decide to do something..you cant predict the future bc you cant see it...You dodge a typhoon bullet..peace.
navigating DFW, yes it requires as much attention as he kept putting to his GPS.
Haha. Wise man to watch the school zone limits here in TX! No sense giving local police your hard earned dollars. Good luck!
The look on your face and the tone of your voice really tells it all. I can see you are trying to sell yourself on staying in America. I’m here in the USA too. Just awaiting for SE Asia to reopen and find a stress free spot to explore. Now that the Philippines was ravaged by a typhoon I’m starting to thing of other countries in the region……. Anyway, good luck on whatever you pursue.
Who would want to go to Philippines right now? They are still basically shutdown, you have to wear a facemask in public, and many places still require a faceshield which is silly in that humid place. Many of the bars and nightclubs are still closed, they still have curfews in place. I have been waiting to get back to PI since March 2019 myself, but until they figure out how to live with Covid it's not a place to be. The typhoon was very limited many places were not effected by it in Philippines. My thought is omicorn will really close down Philippines for a few months soon.
Yes of course I look tired it was nothing but stress the first 3 weeks. Things are better now. Thanks for your concern
You made an excellent point on one of your videos. You said health problems increase exponentially from 60 to 70. I am 70 and experienced exactly this. Get proactive medical care
Love the title! For me yes it does! l don't like what I see might? Be coming in the future.
What's the name of your other channel?
It's going to take some getting back use to the ungrateful and unthankful people again in the states.
when the school bus flies past, you are not speeding.
You are correct my friend - American people everywhere are stressed due to the unknown and the rising costs of everything pkus we are bombarded by Negative News Every Day by the Media in this Country. But like every other cou try we do our best to move forward. Its good to hear you enjoy the new job and also good to hear what you miss in the Philippines. I feel the same way and I usually visit there a few times a year as I live on Florida and enjoy life here. Keep making Vlogs Paul and keep sharing the Smiles !!!
2; 3 or 5 years ?
I'm from DFW too. Best wishes.
Thanks for the update Paul. Best of luck for now in your new job. Take care.
good to see you again, fella.
We can never fully appreciate a place until we come back after living in another country for a long period of time. If you think Texas is stressed out just know that things are MUCH more stressful in LA and New York. Jumping back on the hamster wheel is tough but at least you're not in the worst hamster wheel.
Thats Why i left the USA to live here in the Philippines. My apt is 4 min from the beach. No more work, no more stress.. just sunsets, walks on the beach, surfing and live music. Cant beat that! ;-) OH. and an occasional vlog of my day. Walk and talk on the beach. Its just a hobby.... ;-)
Good luck with your new move Paul. Looking forward seeing your new adventures. Be safe
Hey , I live near Dallas, in Arlington
I would very strongly agree, Life in large American cities does indeed Suck! But life in rural America is as good as it gets.
The Philippines is quite a change from living in the USA. I live in Thailand and I could not go back to Alabama.
Its just a hobby.... ;-) Thailand is great too. Just left Thailand. Way better internet, food and infrastructure than the Philippines! I'm def coming back to Thailand for anther visit and to see different areas!
You should get a Filipino girlfriend to the US. Will make you much younger again
That’s great Paul you got your car back
WELCOME HOME PAUL !
maybe thy stressful
I can’t wait to get out of the USA. I want to live in the Philippines. I can retire in three years at age 62
Ron, Do it! you wont regret it! Its just a hobby.... ;-)
Do it as soon as you reach 62... Seriously, you are lucky to be where you are working.... You come to Australia, you won't be retiring until your 68-74.. People moan and bitch around USA and work, well come here and work ya guts out in Australia until your in ya 70's..
I don’t know how you can look the other way and ignore the poverty in the Philippines due to rampant corruption.
Corruption is rampant perhaps the worst in USA.
Because people know American is on the decline…. Most people are in denial about it
Avoid debt. You'll be happier. I think most Americans are in debt.
Thats true, but unless you are pouring money into Crypto, hoping that one day it'll pay off for you or unless you have mummy and Daddy to suckle off, then unfortunately, to make money for most people is to get themselves in to debt.. i.e; getting a mortgage and paying it off..
Nice to be back
Volvo!
Interaction with professional peers is very satisfying but always learning new software gets tiresome.
Perfect, sounds like 👍 your right where you need to be right now. Zig and zag through things. Do what is important, save, gym, work, invest and the next moves will arrive and show themselves. Hope to cross paths again sometime in the future. Of course I will continue to watch. Smiles
Herlig å se du har kommet deg 'hjem' kos deg mye og lykke til .jeg følger
Ikea to you too
Glad to hear you are determined to do what you want to do for now. But there's nothing permanent, you know. Things can change.
Inflation issue is a bit of a fraud. We have had 15 years of very low inflation despite super low interest rates. We still are under 3% average over the last decade.
Good point, US inflation is nothing like in other countries.
@RamsnDodgersfan, inflation might be a bit of a fraud, BUT I'm still feeling it in real world terms. Rent just went up, gas is way expensive, looking for a used car, prices are way up, grocery food and restaurant food UP etc... Hopefully after the pandemic settles down so will inflation. I will say, the 5.9% increase in my SS for 2022 is about half of the real world inflation I'm personally experiencing. Maybe i'm the exception, but my expenses are running closer to 12% higher.
With the USD the defacto reserve currency, doesn't monetary inflation of the dollar get shared globally? I mean, few countries directly peg their currency to the dollar but most indirectly maintain it within a predictable range. So when the US inflates the dollar they will respond in kind to maintain status quo or else risk shocks to their own economies.
Well your there , hope it all works out great, keep smiling and please becarefull be safe stay healthy, enjoy all the good in things, becarefull of shady people enjoy merry Xmas hope your new year looks after you cheers
Paul, I miss your talks with Gio ... suspect that you do too. Just subscribed. From Az, but now living for two decades in Tokyo, soon to retire in RP as soon as C-19 ends. Traveled through Texas, and honestly, I could not get out of there fast enough (except for El Paso, which I found really cool, perhaps Austin). Texas is one of the last places I would live, except for perhaps the Dakotas, Iowa, and surrounding areas. Speaking honestly, if not for oil, Texas would be bankrupt just like the other Red States.
Love your perspective on life. Do the best you can. You're awesome !!
Hi Paul. I've watched your vlogs from you walking through your old Texas home till now. Never thought I'd say this, but, welcome back...smiles! I suspect after what you've experienced the last couple/few years, you've got the priceless benefit of perspective. Also, being red-pilled and retuning to the States, you know how to protect yourself from various pitfalls (both internal and external) and focus on self-improvement which seems to be the universal RP mantra. I'll also assume you're going to save and invest and live a more frugal/minimalist lifestyle, while still budgeting for fun. As you know, having a solid financial base and stream of income is a real stress-reducing plus, especially when choosing to retire. So many of my ex-coworkers were stressed (and I assume still are) from being too financially leveraged. I retired at 61 and am here in crazy California. Luckily, I live in a small city that's still relatively safe, sane and not ungodly expensive. Glad to see you're safe and doing good.
Oilfield has some seasonal jobs and they rehire people a lot. I know truckers that make big $ in the oilfields and only work 6 months a year, then go to Thailand or Philippines for 6 months. I think you gonna miss Philippines too much to be gone for years. Cheers
Paul, I think the lack of smiles at the moment in the United States is probably COVID related and then now just when things were getting better Omicron hits…So I think The US is not that happy at the moment like most of the world…..😊😊
Get back to Mia!!!!!
Best country in the world USA if only they had free medical and no talk about racism, reverse racism...and equal opportunity😂
When I got my second job I said I was going to stay there until I was no longer having fun . I retired from there 30 years later.
I am quickly changing my mind about visiting the US this year. It is too risky catching Covid and getting stuck there.
You need to change the name of your channel.
Thanks for the update. GL Bro!
Welcome back Paul. I constantly hear about how hot and humid it is in the Philippines. I’ve always thought to myself I live in southern Louisiana. It cannot be much worse than here. What is your opinion on the difference in the heat in Texas and the heat in the Philippines?
South Texas here. 3 months are hotter. 3 months about the same. 6 months are definitely cooler. I have a greater appreciation for a mild TX winter over always summer in SEA.
If u think they dont smile in texas come to california
It's crazy here in California 🤣
Ain’t it the truth. I’m in Oakland, Ca. No many smiles here.
Great to see your enjoying life after your Asia adventure
Paul's 'Asian Adventure' has ceased
Yes
Great vlog Paul. Dunno why you would go back to the rat race but I like your vlogs. Keep them coming.
Do a walk and talk and show us the big girls. I heard everything is big in Texas.
Hello Paul, I was born and raised in Houston Texas and I currently live in San Antonio. The three highest cost of living cities in Texas are Houston Dallas and Austin San Antonio has the lowest cost of living and I love it. If you ever get down this way give me a shout and let's visit for a while
A big lifestyle change my friend. Stay safe and God bless
Wow your in Dallas
When will you be changing this channel name? You are no longer in Asia.
Paul congrats on the beginning of your new life! audio was fine btw
You actually look much older now again now you are back in USA
Did you have your steak and burger? Was it all you hoped for?
Miss The Women . LOL It's good to see someone who run's his own life..
IRS tells thieves that stolen items must be reported on taxes. I now live in the land of the INSANE. I hope the Philippines opens soon US is not safe now.
Yes, you feel like a tourist in your own country, don’t you ?
So you pretty much ran out of cash.
Nope, Just want xtra for the future, don't want to become of those than run out of money in their 80's. It's called planning 😂
I have no clue how you can wear a sweater at the moment, silly hot in Dallas right now.
Probably because he came from an even hotter and humid as hell place. Honestly don't know how expats there manage. Nothing for me, I hate to be sweaty and I love snow.
