Biffy have been the love of my life for a lot of years. Go see them live. You'll never be the same again.
The inspiration of this song is about Scott Hutchison, the singer/songwriter of the Scottish band Frightened Rabbit. Scott lost his battle with depression in 2018 and Simon was a big fan of the band.
I highly recommend checking them out (The Modern Leper is my recommendation). Also more Biffy! (Maybe check out Balance Not Symmetry) 😊😊

I discovered Biffy 7 years ago. Quickly became my favorite band of all time. They are hands down the best live band I have ever seen. Simon Neil is an amazing guitar player and songwriter and the Johnston brothers are beasts on drums and bass. Welcome to the wonderful world of Biffy! I suggest starting at the beginning and working your way to the present, so much great music for you to discover! Great reaction video!
I haven't seen them live but everything I've heard live from them is just great and they are one of the greatest live bands of the last 20 years.

By far my all time favorite band, definitely should check out more of their stuff, I recommend “Sounds like Balloons” and “That Golden Rule”
I'm in the U.S. Midwest and discovered them 12 years ago. It changed my life. Simon played violin from ages 4-10, before he started guitar. The tempo change and building to the crunching crescendo have kind of become a standard thing on the last 4 or 5 albums, and I love it!
Check out another song from that album, "Denier". It's very different than this song. Simon is a musical genius.

Late to the party, but I'm pretty sure the song is specifically about the death of Scott Hutchinson, the Frightened Rabbit frontman. The bands were good friends with each other, as they both came up together in Scotland.
Hutchinson took his own life, which gives lyrics like "now all that weight is gone, does it bring you sweet relief?" much more meaning.
A lot of bands would have written the verse and the bridge part and called it a day, but this song has about 7 different parts, each one superb
Ive always quite liked Biffy Clyro... then i saw them live in Glasgow and they blew my mind. For a band with only 3 members (+ plus when touring) they were so loud but the balance was like being in the best surround sound theatre... Amazing. Mon the Biff!!
I'm Scottish so can be accused of being biased but Biffy Clyro are one of the best out there.

I'm glad you found the band Biffy Clyro, I've been listening to them since their first album Blackened Sky in 2002. I recommend starting there. What is most interesting about them is that they have released many singles with b-side songs, which to me are even better than the album songs. Some hints: Instrucito4, Being Gabriel, Time As An Imploding Unit/Waiting For Green,...
Should react to Empire State Bastard, Neil's other band. It's more metal than Biffy Clyro, all the songs on it are really good imo.

I'll always like a Biffy Clyro reaction! My favourite band by far and an amazing live act I've had the pleasure of seeing twice. If you add these songs to your playlist you'll be in for a wild ride: A Hunger in Your Haunt, End Of, The Golden Rule, Mountains, There's No Such Thing As A Jaggy Snake, Black Chandelier, Biblical, and Space (Orchestral Version) just to name a few.

You need to check out Simons newest band Empire State Bastard. The Looming [Official Video] would be a great starting point. This is a much different monster that will become and addiction.

Biffy is the best….please listen to Living is a problem because everything dies. It’s so great. Me and my wife saw them play in a basement with only approx 20 people there. My wife has their autographs tattooed on her arm.
Many of Horror is another great song. My personal favourite might be Accident Without Emergency but there are a lot to choose from.

@@Yeedeed considering this song started out like Ed Sheeran ish and was last video following Lacuna Coil and Devil Driver, it really held its own, pleasantly surprised, and also the fact they've been around for 20 years and I'd never heard of them before ? double whammy
@@pazwretzky4673there's a whole rabbit hole awaiting you. They have some poppy tunes that mix in hard riffs and they do weird time signatures really well. They are incredible. You can't genre them... they are just Biffy

These are a brilliant band that I have been a fan of since thier 2nd album, The fact that they stay true to thier Scottish accent and do not sing in an American accent. There are very few bands who do remain true to thier own language when singing. If this is as awesome as you say, you need to go away and listen to more.

I'd recommend watching them doing live gigs, on here. Watching the play Stingin' Belle with a Scottish twist in there. I think Transmit was one of the best live recorded shows.

If you can find a decent quality version online I'd suggest 'Livings a Problem Because Everything Dies'. When I heard that in their early days I knew they were special. Loads in the back catalogue you can go through through.
