    What a fantastic 📹. Loos like you all had such great time. Have you ever fished out/near Los Barriles?. How is the fishing in Cabos vs The East Cape?

    • @Tagcabosportfishing
      @Tagcabosportfishing  2 года назад

      whats up Victor ! we do fish out at the East cape and it is also a great place to fish. Cabo San Lucas gets way maro striped marlins all year around and the East Cape only gets them in Summer but they do have great areas to fish all year around

    You guys would do well to learn the best and proper way to care for a large ahi. I was born and raised in Hawaii and I was a full time commercial fisherman for 40+ years. The Japanese came over from Japan and would go out on my boat fishing for big ahi, and they were teaching us how to care for them by quickly bleeding the fish out then gill gutting and rodding the spine all the way to the tail. Then, especially the big "gorilla" ahi over 200 lbs, need to be placed in a well 5:54 insulated fish box into a brine of a great deal of ice and rock salt and sea water for a minimum of 48 hours to get a core temperature of below 48 degrees Fahrenheit. Then the meat will be cured and ready to quarter out. Big yellowfin migrate through the Hawaiian islands to spawn here, which has them in an excited state where the meat can get an excess of lactic acid build up in it causing the "burnt" ahi syndrome where the flesh becomes of lesser than #1 sashimi quality!! Still, the marine scientists from Japan, although so knowledgeable in catching and caring for tuna, didn't have it perfectly worked out for big ahi. Sometimes it didn't matter and mad no sense why a particular fish would be burned or beautiful ruby red #1 grade quality for sushi and sashimi. Caught literally 1000's of over 100+ lb. Yellowfin and big eye tuna. Those huge 250+ lb gorilla ahi are so powerful!!!! Much more than big eye!! Incredible fish to catch and spearfish freediving!!! Been freeive spearfiherman since I was 5 years old!!! Enjoy !!!

      We filmed that about 3 weeks ago and we usually look for a nice water break on terrafin to go look for them and by using our Radar we find the birds.
