    Wow, that is one nice belt. Thanks for showing how to do it, just listening on the process is so soothing.

    Wouldn’t have thought about using yellow but with the accent color and antique it turned out very nice. Also like the choice of stamp. Nice variation instead of the basket weave.

      Thank you very much! I usually gravitate to using saddle tan instead of yellow but I find, as you pointed out, when you add the antique and make the borders brown the yellow seems to pop. Plus the stamp does have a unique style to it. Thank you for the kind words.

    Excellent work...😊
    I'm new to leather working, could you provide a link to where you get your stamps..

      Sure thing. You can find stamps many places. My favorite are from Sergey Neskromniy. He has a etsy shop.

      If you plan on doing Sheridan style work I always enjoyed Barry King Tools:www.barrykingtools.com/
      I also get some tools at Springfield Leather and Tandy. You can get some pretty inexpensive stamps at both of these shops. These are a great place to start because it will not cost that much and if you find you stick with it you can get some more expensive stamps like the stores above. I still use plenty of my Springfield and Tandy stamps.

    I have a question does the leather have to be wet ?

    • @baronleathercraft
      @baronleathercraft  9 месяцев назад

      Yes, but not very wet. run a wet sponge over the leather then let it dry a little, you do not want the leather to be to sloshy. then go ahead and tool it. Once you start doing it you will find the sweet spot of how wet you like your leather when you tool it. It is like anything else with practice comes that type of knowledge.
