Finally, the film Ive been wondering if it was a dream or a real movie when I was a kid. I had a feint memory of two giants fighting and now finally, I found it. Not that anyone cares.

In fact, surprise on how good the quality is - was my first reaction. Mr Hyde looks much better than all the CGI bullshit they use now. Even Avenger's Hulk looks kindda CGI crappy compared to this. They made a good decision to use less CGI on Hyde animation.
Fun fact: in the original Verne book, Nemo was a Polish nobleman fighting against the Russians. His publisher changed it to Indian fighting the English because, at the time of publication, Russia was an ally of France, and England the enemy.

in all my 26 years of watching movies I have to admit that I have never seen a scarier or horrifiying CGI design for a monster than this. Incredible job from the CGI team of artists!
Someone has to point out how CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED this scene and fight in general is. The effects and work in general on the "overhyded" dude are astounding. It looks way scarier than many CG monsters today, and the filmmakers made a DIVINE job on telling us how powerful were the punches and how heavy were the creatures. You can FEEL that the monsters are huge, ramming, brutal abominations, and that's nuff said to me.
Seriously the superhyde to this day is the only monster that legit terrified me as a kid amd the fact that nemo tries his best spilling blood the creature just refuses to fall its literally through dumb luck our heroes survived the beast.
I always thought the faux Hyde monster here was impressively scary. The idea of someone taking more than what Jekyll KNEW to be a safe amount to take and the horror on his face when he saw the guy gulp a gallon of formula because he feared what would happen...very near scene.

i always did love how Hyde wasn't an idiot despite being a massive brute. when hes captured he immediately knows the smart play is to agree and join, he persuades Jekyll that they can save the submarine together later on, and even in this big brawl with the ultra-changed enemy that got drunk off the formula, Hyde was still smart enough to piece together that the big monster didnt have long before he changed

this is one of my favorite under-rated movie. and Nemo is my fav character, next to Dorian Grey. cmon! that guy is good with swords, has a small army and a huge submarine, shape like a blade and its beautiful to boot. and Dorian grey, is an immortal, personally prefer his than a vampire. vampire can fly and super strength, but its cursed to unable to live out on the sun, drink blood and some other weaknesses (though some may not work in different vampire movies) while Dorian's only weakness, is his portrait.

The visual fx was terrible for its time, I remember it well. I thought it looked terrible as I watched it in the cinema.

Oddly enough, it’s still a better adaptation of Jekyll and Hyde than what we got in “The Mummy” (2017).
