Millie Jackson was always on repeat at our cookouts and house parties and small get togethers.
Millie paved the way for all female artists and its a shame she has not been recognized by BET, Soul Train , NCAAP Image .. What the hell? No one has honored this Dynamic , trend setter, shit talker and true entertainer!!!! ...She was doing it "her way" when other artist allowed themselves to be constrained and restrained by their record labels. LET'S HONOR THIS LEGEND!!

Come through Ms. Millie!⭐⭐ Millie Jackson was huge in Detroit, whenever she came to town she performed at Henry's Cocktail Lounge, she had an entire review. Henry's showcased all the huge acts of the 70's, I grew up down the street from Henry's and everybody played there-Tyrone Davis, Millie, Bobby Blue Bland, Clarence Carter, EVERYBODY who was somebody in R&B, Soul and Blues played Henry's. Our parents would dress up and go see these artists perform, right in the neighborhood. Those were the days!

I first heard this song at a party in 1976 when I returned to England from Canada for a vacation . My family kept a party for me, and I danced to it feeling the emotions of the singer. I returned to Canada with that song in my mind. Today, 2022, it just came to me I was sitting quietly reflecting. I wondered who that singer was,, and looked it up on Google. I found her among the other singers on display. I listened to it,. and reminisced. It brought tears to my eyes. Thanks, Mille Jackson, for that beautiful soul music.🙂❤

2018 and loving this song like I knew it then. This is music and not what we have now..Was born into the voices of 80s and 90s musicians and now aside a few, music is now noise..With this type of song alone, you will make heaven

Take the thoughts and words and arrange them and the music with smooth background vocals, what you get is a great song that lasts forever. It sounds so good.

That's when family was trying to just live their lives and worked there's ass off. But when Fridays roll around cooking, good music, family meant something, when we lost them, grandmothers we lost the meaning of Family 👪
