It's because in Persian those verses actually rhyme with each other and have a dancing rhythm. I mean, when you're reading Rumi's poems in Persian, you're enjoying the meaning, listening to a natural music, and dancing at the same time! It's extremely joyous. If you want to find love you must first love yourself. Be okay with who you are and just being with yourself. You'll attract love a lot more naturally that way, neediness is one the biggest things that pushes love away.
Neediness is not the problem. Neither is loving ourselves. People change, situation change. You can be non needy at one point, and then become needy at another point in the relationship. You might love yourself at the moment, while you might feel insecure or jealousy at another point in time. You need to accept the situation in acquiesce. People can stop loving you, betray you, everything is a possibility in this life. Love is just an emotion in the moment, affection might be linger longer, but none is permanent.

I think love is something internal. You can turn the whole world upside down, you will never find love as long as you don't look within yourself. Don't look outside for what is inside. I think it's the same with fear : you can't run away from something that is inside of you.
Thank you for addressing Rumi. I understood the philosophy of loving the Divine like this. There is no point in getting attached to anything or anyone in this material world because everything is mortal. Departure and seperation will always come, in one way or the other. The best thing is to attach yourself to the Divine, the one that never dies, the one that never forsakes us. There is still pain in separation. But it doesn't lead people of God into desperation because they know, all souls meet eventually in another space and time.

But aside from that meditate, spent time in nature by just being aware of your surroundings and allow yourself to tap into your potential, practice child like curiosity towards life and cherish every small bit in life. Night covers everything with its darkness, we should cover others' fault(shame), because the opposite of this we can count as a bullying and that's not cool. And I think translation is little bit problematic or I found a problematic translation(Idk). However, the most hard part is "Appear as you are, be as you appear." I think it is hard to answer this question: "Who am really I?" If we don't answer this question, how can we know we became the true self? Ok, I will explain this phrase with simple way and I won't make philosophy: Be yourself! If we say our inner world is "X" and our appearance to others is "Y", we should make X=Y. That's it. But, other questions are hard to answer and they are changing time to time: "Do I have to be mercy to all?", "Do I have to be fair to all even the evils?", "What if I am a bad person and I appear as I am to others, I won't be generous or mercy?" You can make those questions more, but in the end, I think being good and wise brings peace to our hearths. (I said wise, because wise persons always knows how to behave against calculating persons and protect themselves without be harmed.)

Also if you guys are maybe interested in the islam and just want to understand us, I would recommend you another great muslim philosopher. His name is Said Nursi, but he is commonly referred as Bediüzzaman(it is a name given by his people to him and means the wonder of time). He has a line of Books called Risale i Nur. They are basically an accumulation of the quran and hadiths of the prophet into mostly stories as allegories, in which he articulates the meaning behind what was said. The Risalei Nur starts with Sözler(turkish for Words) but you can start anywhere you like. also if Einzelgänger reads this I hope you would make avideo with his philosophy.

Love is at the core of us and we are already connected to it, therefore to “seek it” only implies separation and takes you further away from it. When you realize you are already “there” is when you are immersed in it and it washes over you. You just have to allow it as Rumi says. Love is unconditional. It is not some illusive, mystical force or something worthy of only gurus.

And yes I agree with some friends below, even thou I dont know Persian, in old Turkish language translations of Rumi's works sound crazy aesthetic! Cannot reading him in original language is unfortunately the same pain I feel how I can never read Dostoyevski in Russian. In Konya, where he died, they use to organize huge get togethers each year in December, coinciding his departure from World ☺; Called “Vuslat Anniversary” Vuslat meaning the “ecstatic joy of meeting with beloved”. For him, meeting with Allah. Still, I wanna put some words on the experiences Rumi emphasises "love is everywhere".. It is actually. But we have way too crowded mind to see/feel/touch/hear/taste it. Mind rattles and creates false belief filters. Then we are not able to experience the world as it is. Unfortunately as a result, we just experience our own crooked version of reality, which forces us to search love outside. We need to clean our subconscious mind somehow. I really want non-Persians to know they're only getting a small portion of the joy when reading Rumi's poems. It's because in Persian those verses actually rhyme with each other and have a dancing rhythm. I mean, when you're reading Rumi's poems in Persian, you're enjoying the meaning, listening to a natural music, and dancing at the same time!

i think its because people dont like it when its mixed with religion, i guess that is where the problem is, like in the west, when many quotes are based on the christian religion and yet people who introduce the quotes dont use it as a means to spread or glorify the religion, that is how i see the problem.

If you want to find love you must first love yourself. Be okay with who you are and just being with yourself. You'll attract love a lot more naturally that way, neediness is one the biggest things that pushes love away.
Neediness is not the problem. Neither is loving ourselves.
People change, situation change.
You can be non needy at one point, and then become needy at another point in the relationship.
You might love yourself at the moment, while you might feel insecure or jealousy at another point in time.
You need to accept the situation in acquiesce. People can stop loving you, betray you, everything is a possibility in this life.
Love is just an emotion in the moment, affection might be linger longer, but none is permanent.

But how is it unconditional. I don't see this in practical life. Ideally yes this is what we want but we do not see. Instead, love is happening between 2 equals. For example take relationship between man and woman.
Unconditional love is possible only when our logic does not interfere with emotions and that is a very very rare scenario.

In my personal experience, even if i have appropriate wisdom , it is still difficult to move beyond personal experiences. Therefore having wisdom is not enough for having best experiences and choices.
For our emotional mind, this all knowledge and wisdom just doesn't seem to matter if soul is in hurt and pain. So we need to know how to heal first.
But i am very positive...may be someday, most of us shall experience the same just like these sages did.

But you don't need anything, you already have it. Don't you see? Are you in there?
There is no "someday", there is only now. Anything else than now is just in the mind. You don't have to wait until some conditions are met. This will never come. Don't be harsh with yourself. Blindly Love who you are and then you will see. You will see who you are and be as you are.

There is no point in getting attached to anything or anyone in this material world because everything is mortal.
Departure and seperation will always come, in one way or the other.
The best thing is to attach yourself to the Divine, the one that never dies, the one that never forsakes us.
There is still pain in separation.
But it doesn't lead people of God into desperation because they know, all souls meet eventually in another space and time.

It is beautiful how you study all schools of thought thoroughly. To my understanding Sufi muslims added a philosophical explanation to religion.
Non-sufi muslims don't put much thought into hidden meanings behind worship. They stick to the scripture more literally or practically.
Becoming in union with God means putting the Divine before and above everything.
It is very much like the idea of becoming ego-less in Buddhism.

The whole Islamic prayer is given as a gift so you can experience the Ascension Journey the Prophet did, if done properly. That is why you have to pray 5 times a day, so maybe you will experience one thing in an instant, or maybe the whole thing.
But the highest from of connection with God , is the Dhikr (Remembrance ) of the Name Allah repeatedly at all times in your mind, even while talking, which is teaching you deep mindfulness at all time.
The Dhikr too is profound in Rumis poetry, as the way to connect with God and to keep remembering his name in your mind, so maybe you will experience a break thru.

Not sure why, but I always react with a mini-cringe when someone describes his or her partner as "amazing" or "awesome". But I understand you feel blessed having met this person and are expressing gratitude and joy so I don't wish to rain on your parade.The Bible says pride goeth before a fall, and sometimes over-idealizing another person does too. Hopefully you will still love this person when they fall short of amazing or awesome, which is more rare.
@@FriendofDorothy right now my partner, friends, and family have been helping me for the most part with self forgiving and not being too hard on myself whenever i fuck up. But yeah that's why he's been teaching me cooking and i try to remember what we have could be temporary and i should really enjoy the now with him and everyone else i know.

@calilion1360 were married and still going strong right now. This year has been pretty brutal, and my mental health has been in the shitter however were still moving on regardless of what's happening. Also started transitioning and im feeling abit happier while trying to respect myself alittle bit more than i did before.

Try getting into meditating. It's difficult at first, but it gives you a platform to stop resisting/forcing, and let things in your mind settle and sediment. This is a very peaceful state and you will find compassion within you and around you.
Allow your heart to break. Allow all your understanding of love to break.
Also detach from a materialistic viewpoint of life, that all there is is matter etc. Its no coincidence that materialism can be used in two ways. But aside from that meditate, spent time in nature by just being aware of your surroundings and allow yourself to tap into your potential, practice child like curiosity towards life and cherish every small bit in life. We have more to offer than we believe.

@@cannibale101 Actually, I don't find so much different meanings: Sun is generous about its sunshine. It is able to burn all of us, but it prefers to give life to earth. Night covers everything with its darkness, we should cover others' fault(shame), because the opposite of this we can count as a bullying and that's not cool. Be like running water(stream), because it always keeps giving water to villages. Be death for rage and anger, because death can't be angry. Be like earth(soil), because it is lying our foots, but it gives life to earth too, anyway.
Those are my thoughts. And I think translation is little bit problematic or I found a problematic translation(Idk). However, the most hard part is "Appear as you are, be as you appear."
I think it is hard to answer this question: "Who am really I?" If we don't answer this question, how can we know we became the true self? Ok, I will explain this phrase with simple way and I won't make philosophy: Be yourself! If we say our inner world is "X" and our appearance to others is "Y", we should make X=Y. That's it.
But, other questions are hard to answer and they are changing time to time:
"Do I have to be mercy to all?", "Do I have to be fair to all even the evils?", "What if I am a bad person and I appear as I am to others, I won't be generous or mercy?"
You can make those questions more, but in the end, I think being good and wise brings peace to our hearths. (I said wise, because wise persons always knows how to behave against calculating persons and protect themselves without be harmed.)

Also if you guys are maybe interested in the islam and just want to understand us, I would recommend you another great muslim philosopher.
His name is Said Nursi, but he is commonly referred as Bediüzzaman(it is a name given by his people to him and means the wonder of time).
He has a line of Books called Risale i Nur.
They are basically an accumulation of the quran and hadiths of the prophet into mostly stories as allegories, in which he articulates the meaning behind what was said. The Risalei Nur starts with Sözler(turkish for Words) but you can start anywhere you like.

Love is at the core of us and we are already connected to it, therefore to “seek it” only implies separation and takes you further away from it. When you realize you are already “there” is when you are immersed in it and it washes over you. You just have to allow it as Rumi says. Love is unconditional. It is not some illusive, mystical force or something worthy of only gurus.

I grew up with Mevlana’s poems, thats how we call him in Turkey. And yes I agree with some friends below, even thou I dont know Persian, in old Turkish language translations of Rumi's works sound crazy aesthetic! Cannot reading him in original language is unfortunately the same pain I feel how I can never read Dostoyevski in Russian.
In Konya, where he died, they use to organize huge get togethers each year in December, coinciding his departure from World ☺; Called “Vuslat Anniversary” Vuslat meaning the “ecstatic joy of meeting with beloved”. For him, meeting with Allah.
Still, I wanna put some words on the experiences Rumi emphasises "love is everywhere".. It is actually. But we have way too crowded mind to see/feel/touch/hear/taste it. Mind rattles and creates false belief filters. Then we are not able to experience the world as it is. Unfortunately as a result, we just experience our own crooked version of reality, which forces us to search love outside.
We need to clean our subconscious mind somehow. Everyone should clean their lenses :) Whatever works for his/her. For me TM and NLP helped a lot. + staying alone in the nature and hear trees and bees and grasses speak for themselves.. Benefits of Pandemia :)) Love & greetings to you all!

I'm happy that one of my favourite channels on youtube that literally changed my life talks about Rumi. I love Rumi however, I could never really grasp his words to a full extend. Even after watching this video, it gives me more questionmarks

@@nirgunawish The whole video is about an ultimate reality that transcends the person to which a person has to submit to. I'm not sure what sense of 'barrier' you have in mind, but it seems that the point of the video is to break down the barriers imposed by the ego that separate us from this ultimate reality.

@@ayoubzahiri1918 now that’s inaccurate. Sufism is based on the Islamic religion. Its a branch of Islam and Rumi is well aware of it. You cant just take a quote from Rumi and came up with that conclusion. Rumi has lived his whole life a Muslim with his spiritual partner Shams of Tabriz. Both of them are Muslims and practice Islam. Mysticism is not to be understood by thinking. It is a way of life that they have lived and not to be concluded by your opinion of the matter. You have to live the way the saints lived. Understand from the heart. For Allah is the only God. Read the Quran. Remove all your judgements. Understand it for yourself. I’m hoping for the best for you. I didnt mean any harm when I write this. @@positiveforreal6741 of course he'll act like muslim to go with the mass so he can be accepted in the community and not get beheaded, just like im doing myself, i fast ramadan as a tradition and not as an order from god, because im sure god never talked to mohammed,or maybe he did...we'll never know but religions are just dividing the world when the true god is one and only one.i experienced god from psychdelics and i swear if i didnt know about religions i would have created one, but deff not in this age of information and science now ...

(Much like van Gogh,van Schaik) .His proper name is Mevlana Celaleddin (Rumi).In Turkey we simply refer to him as Mevlana.
