    Making that the Baroness personal plane would be perfect. Could call it the Black Widow! Looks great, very professional.

    Sweet build. Since Buzz has a jet-pack and space suit...who needs a plane? Never understood why they have a plane with Buzz? He wouldn't need one. I have found clear acrylic colored wrap when changing colors of the windows on my projects. You can get them online or at most hobby centers. Just cut to shapes and wet...kind of like window tint. Aqua painting/dipping is a easy way to get those custom colors without the long hours of dry time. As a creator myself, I understand of long hours. Imagination is priceless.

    • @brushstroke3733
      @brushstroke3733  Год назад +2

      I suupose Buzz might need planes/ships for longer trips, while the jetpack would be for more short range exploration. But it's fantasy, so it might as well just be a jetpack as you say!
      Thank you for the excellent tips! I would have never thought of transparent wraps/window tints - what a great idea. And I have never headd of aqua dipping/painting, so that is very helpful as well. I'll have to look into that. 👍😁

    I agree, that should be Destro's a/o Baroness' personal plane. Maybe Baroness flies the Rattler blue while Destro flies the black one, as sort of a his & here models

      Thanks! Yeah, I didn't really realize how much time and work these would take to complete when I started them, especially the first one. I did most of the work (all but the spray painting) while watching/listening to RUclips, so that helped the time pass, especially while removing the plastic coating which is like sanding. I can totally understand not wanting to undertake such a project. Anyway, good to hear from you. Rock on! 🤘

      Thanks! Yours was the one that inspired me to make my own! I really like how you changed the canopy color and painted the engine intakes and the missile launch buttons red, I just didn't want to spend another $8 for a can of red spray paint. I'm guessing you used an airbrush for the canopy and those parts? Anyway, thanks for the inspiration and for giving me some clues about how to dis-assemble and re-assemble the plane.

    the black one looks good, but maybe too black.
    the blue looks more attractive to me, + I suspect that black is for the stratosphere,
    as seen from under, it blends with the black of space.
    of course, the ship could be either, just, I d want to use it as a fighter myself.
    my fav Cobra jet was the hurricane, which I never had sadly.
    if it was not for the extra mechanism, I d be tempted for a CC jet.
    I d want something simpler and that fits better.
    yeah, it s certainly inspiring.
    good show bro.

      Thanks for sharing your feedback! I think most people agree with you that the black one is too black and that the blue one looks better. I'm not even sure what the Cobra Hurricane looks like - I'll have to look that one up.

    Looks awesome! Great job! I saw a bunch of those for $17 at Walmart but I stayed strong & passed. They are way TOO BIG and would take way too much space. So I stuck to the smaler Hyperspeed Series. I have a ton of them & I want to repaint some. But right now I'm buried in Masterverse customs. My channel says "sci-fi" but I haven't really touched on the sci-fi side of things yet. lol

      You're a smart man to stay away from large vehicles like these that take up so much space! Good luck when you start collecting Sci-Fi figures - every new category we collect threatens to bury us! Customizing Masterverse is a great creative outlet in any case, and you do an incredible job with yours.👍

    I bought 3 when 🎯 had them on sale for $3149 a piece. I took them to the register. They were buy 2 get 1 Free. So Instead of paying over $150 for the 3. It was about $75 out the door

      Nice, great deal! I never bought a third one to paint red (like the Firebat) as I thought I might. The process of customizing just seemed too tedious to repeat a third time! Have you customized yours or just use as is?

    Looks awesome. Great job I want one lol . Now why can't Hasbro mass produce these instead of charging several hundred for their vehicles.

    • @brushstroke3733
      @brushstroke3733  Год назад

      Thanks! I know, I wish Hasbro would make these or something like them. There's no reason they could't make them for about the same price as these Buzz Lightyear ships. They could injection mold them in blue or black, etc, and not need to spend any extra money on paint apps.

    • @brushstroke3733

    You ever think to try to a Star Wars Queen’s naboo starship and paint the top red to make it look like a cobra spaceship or sub?

    • @brushstroke3733
      @brushstroke3733  7 месяцев назад +1

      No, I'm not even sure what her starship looks like, but that's a great idea I'm sure. I'll have to investigate and see what toys they ever made of it. 1/12 scale vehicles tend to get rather large! I kind of wish I had never started collecting 1/12 scale (6" figures) and stuck with 1/18 (3.75" figures like Star Wars Vintage Collection.) SWVC are some of my favorite figures.
      I like Black Series and GI Joe Classifieds too (and some Action Force), but find them a bit bulky and unwieldy as toys go. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions and for watching, commenting, and subscribing! Welcome to the channel if this is your first time watching.

    Awesome. I bought one and painted it black too except the engine parts. They look great. where did you get the cobra emblem stickers ?

  • @Santana3
    @Santana3 7 месяцев назад +2

    Good video, thx. Where did you get the stickers from? Also, what brand and color is the blue you used?

    • @brushstroke3733
      @brushstroke3733  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks! The stickers are from a seller named JusticeFighters on Etsy. The paint is Navy Blue Gloss color, Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultracover Paint + Primer.
      Before painting plastic, it's recommended you scour off and remove the thin layer of coating on all parts using abrasive pads.
      I also used gray primer from the same brand, though it is probably not necessary. If you do use primer, I recommend letting it dry fully before painting over it.
      The directions say you can paint over within 1 hour of priming or after 24 hrs. I tried applying top coat within the one hour time frame and it did not come out well. Some of the primer liquified again and bubbled up through the top coat.
      I ended up having to scour and sand those parts down to plastic again and start over, and even then some of the pock-marking from the original mess was still visible.
      Good luck and have fun with your customs!

    Hey, I'm trying my hand at a custom cobra firebat based on the lightyear xl14. I used rustolium plastic primer and it doesn't seem to dry fully. Any tips? Wrong paint? Finish and use clear matte coat? I think it's the same plastic as the xl15.

    • @brushstroke3733
      @brushstroke3733  5 месяцев назад

      Hmm, I'm not sure what caused the primer not to dry. Has it dried now after a longer time?
      If the primer hasn't dried yet, is it possible you put it on too heavily? What were the environmental conditions outside or in the room where you applied the primer? Was the humidity below 65% and temperature over 50°F when you primed it?
      How much preparation work did you do on the plastic before painting? Did you scrub the thin clear topcoat off all the plastic surfaces with an abrasive pad and then clean with degreaser or soap before applying the primer?
      If your answer to any of the above questions is no, those could be a reason the primer hasn't dried yet. But I think if you just give it enough time, it will dry completely. If it looks bad, you may want to try to sand the primer off with high grit paper (I'd say something around 600 - 1000), but be careful to try not to sand off molding details if you do this.
      Let me know if you'd like to discuss further. Good luck finishing your custom Firebat!!
