@@motu8276 Thanks man! Kind of just going through the motions lately, but hopefully it's just a temporary phase. Still collecting some of the new MOTU figures but overall kind of burned out on collecting. All of a sudden I kinda wish I hadn't ever expanded to collecting GI Joe Classified or Star Wars Black Series figures. I've been thinking about selling them off but haven't been driven enough to start that yet. Might need a new direction for the channel or to start a different channel and leave this one for MOTU only. Anyway, nice hearing from you and hope you are doing well!

No doubt! Sorry to you and mom and Gary that I have disappeared. I am learning how sometimes when I get stressed it seems to overwhelm my system and then I freeze and shut down. I feel guilt and shame for not doing more and then try to avoid those feelings by trying to avoid the situation. I seek rest and restoration to recharge and prepare and I find some relief, but it still feels like there's a rock in my shoe that I'm trying to ignore. Anyway, I am working on myself and looking for the positive and I think I am making some improvements (like exercising more regularly and being kinder to myself in general.) Meanwhile, I'm hopeful that everyone is carrying on as well as can be expected in the circumstances. And I appreciate the space and support you all have given me. 🙂

Thank you for sharing your experience. I had been considering trying some of the brand name shoes, but I'm still so satisfied with the Whitins I wear that now hearing your perspective, I might just skip the fancy brands. Also like your idea to repurpose other shoes and boots. Going actual barefoot seems like the best possible option, though not necessarily in urban and suburban areas.

For the most part I go barefooted when I train in muay thai, and walk except for when I go grocery shopping I'll wear my converted shoes, dive booties, moccasins or water shoes. The town I'm I'm gives me foul looks when I go shopping without shoes.

@@elsuperpollo2273 I'm always surprised at how uncomfortable some things make people, like you being barefoot while grocery shopping. Your feet aren't any dirtier than their shoes! And why fear dirt anyway?

True but when store owners tell you to leave for being barefooted legally you need to leave.

@@brushstroke3733 There are more than I initially thought... there's also Multi-Bot, Dragstor, Hurricane Hordak, Blast Attak, Stonedar, Laser Power He-Man, Laser-Light Skeletor, Twistoid, Rotar, and the two giants (Tytus/Megator). I assume we'll also get a few others that never actually saw release back in the 80s, like He-Ro, Eldor, Sharella, Strobo, and Plasmar. I'm curious as to if we'll see the '87 movie tie-in figures in Origins? Blade, Saurod, and Gwildor? Mattel can definitely keep going a few more years!

Ah, good call about the feet. That may be why the idea occurred to me - I had probably already seen it in the mutated Moss Man pictures and it was in my subconcious somewhere. I like the V1 Skeletor head sculpt too - looks like he's laughing or yelling!

Good to hear from you as always! Skeletor is still my favorite character overall, so I can't resist him, even when it's just another repaint. Mattel must be aware of our weakness for him, hence making this a two pack instead of just an individual Demogorgon figure. I'd have bought the Demogorgon as a separate figure, but they got more of my money this way!

@@brushstroke3733 Skeletor isn't my favorite but he was my very first figure. I was at Bradlees in Connecticut & there was only 1 Skeletor lying on the shelf. I couldn't find any other figures anywhere. That was the 1st time MOTU ever hit the stores. It was about 2 months before I found the rest of them. I remember I wanted Zodac the most.

Yeah, I but I only ordered one. He's a cool looking figure and I always like glow-in-the-dark figs. I'll put him on my sink next to Scareglow since that's the best place to charge them with light. Are you going to keep one or two in box, or open them all and display as a mini army?

@@sci-fi.tsunami I just went back and looked at the images of him and see that he really is intended as an army builder as you say. I think I will order one or two more myself now. I love the cloth goods cape he comes with, and yeah, he looks awesome with the snake tail body and no armor as well.

Awesome! Great comment - you added a lot of helpful review information that I didn't cover in the video. You are right that the trail runners include a thin layer of cushioning and an arch support insert. I just remove the arch support insert and don't use them in mine. Thanks for the feedback and the added details to help other viewers decide if these shoes might be a fit for them. I still haven't tried the Xero shoes and would like to someday, but these are such a good price and work well for me.

@@brushstroke3733 There is no arch support in the insole. Everyone keeps saying this but the insole is only contoured at the arch to fit in the shoe. It appears to be risen but it is as thin as the rest of the insole.

I agree. I was thinking Cobra stole the plans for an X-30, or got their hands on one, and reverse engineered it. Then they made some slight changes and came up with this.

No, I still haven't got Mossman yet as he has still never appeared in my region of California and Walmart doesn't seem to want to ship from one region to another. Mr. Home Arcade has generously offered to send me one at cost plus shipping and I will probably take him up on that if I ever get off my butt. My brother also lives on the East Coast and will probably get me one if he sees them on clearance. I just don't know how often he goes to his store. Glad to hear you've got your collection packed up and ready to go. Moving is so much work and is stressful as you say. So many unknowns when you make a big change like that. I hope it goes smoothly for you and that you find it fruitful and enjoy your new home. May You Have the Power!!!

Hmm, I'm not sure what caused the primer not to dry. Has it dried now after a longer time? If the primer hasn't dried yet, is it possible you put it on too heavily? What were the environmental conditions outside or in the room where you applied the primer? Was the humidity below 65% and temperature over 50°F when you primed it? How much preparation work did you do on the plastic before painting? Did you scrub the thin clear topcoat off all the plastic surfaces with an abrasive pad and then clean with degreaser or soap before applying the primer? If your answer to any of the above questions is no, those could be a reason the primer hasn't dried yet. But I think if you just give it enough time, it will dry completely. If it looks bad, you may want to try to sand the primer off with high grit paper (I'd say something around 600 - 1000), but be careful to try not to sand off molding details if you do this. Howdy, welcome to the channel and thank you for subscribing! I agree with you that it's nice to find smaller channels and for us to help each other grow. It's fun seeing all of our growth together and it feels like being part of a team and community. It's inspiring and fun. Also, I am feeling better about not having a girlfriend or job at the moment. It's easy to forget that the "grass always looks greener on the other side" but usually isn't. Every situation has its positive and negative aspects. And I've realized it's not the condition that I really want but rather the feeling that I think the condition would bring. I don't have to have any condition to feel whatever I want though, because I have imagination and can conjure those feelings, especially with practice. So I can feel excitement, interest, love, freedom to choose and do whatever I want, all without any external causes. That's a helluva realization! I do have a somewhat different approach to my channel than you suggest though. I know what you suggest is the best way to grow, but it just doesn't suit my style. I get discouraged when I feel like I have to make lots of content or put it out regularly, and I don't feel interested in expanding to other social media platforms, at least not at this time. What seems to work best for me (not my channel) is to just make videos when I feel inspired to do it. Also, trying to not worry about what others might like but just making what I want to make. In other words, I strive to be as authentically myself as possible and not necessarily chase success or likes, etc., though that is somewhat hard to do. Because of course I like being liked and the feeling of success from a growing channel! And I'd love to get to a point where I can make legitimate income from creating. Anyway, thanks for the comment and suggestions. I subscribed to your channel too. May you grow steadily and quickly and enjoy the journey and community we all build!

Yeah, the Boussh Leia figure is awesome out of box. She fits in with other bounty hunters with her helmet on, so she could be another character if wanted. And I agree, the Havoc Staff is going to be a fun build and cool display piece when I finish it. I just need to find somewhere to put it! 🤔🥳

Yes, Mattel probably thought they could take advantage of all the TMNT hype from the movie this year and probably also hoped the Turtles of Grayskull line would attract kids and inspire new MOTU fans. I doubt it will work though. I picture of venn diagram of overlapping circles, one for MOTU and another (much larger) for TMNT, and imagine only people in the middle overlapping region will be interested in these figures. In other words, it's only a subset of MOTU fans (or TMNT fans) who want these, which means they won't even sell as well as Origins which was already a failure at retail, at least since about wave 7. Even though they said they would finish the Origins line and make updated versions of all the vintage figures, I'm not counting on it. Mattel is a corporation after all, and their executives are chasing dollars. Mattel Creations probably seems like a weird side project to them with very limited potential to increase their bottom line.

I probably won't do it all in one sitting. I usually only build for about an hour at a time. It may take me three or four days to put this huge kit together.

Thanks for the heads-up - I'll probably swing by today and check the stock. I try to go at least once a week now as it seems I never know what I might find there.

No luck finding any MOTU Origins or Masterverse today, though they did have a couple playsets from the CGI show, including Castle Grayskull. I did get a Stridor there a few weeks ago, as well as a Revelation Battlecat and Sorceress. (I had a Sorceress already, but this was a good opportunity to customize her with a short skirt. She came out great!) My Ross has been moatly cleared out since Christmas, but they still have a pile of Xamot Paoli figures! (GI Joe Classified #44.) My Target still has a Jitsu and recently had a Buzzsaw Hordak and Battle Armor He-Man on peg. Distribution is so wierd and inconsistent these days! Still haven't seen Mossman come to California. It seems Walmart stopped selling any MOTU out here.

@@brushstroke3733 Been seeing waves of Mossman hit walmarts back on the east coast. He was for sale on the web site briefly earlier this month. If I come across one retail I'll try to snag one for you. Yes he-man has disappeared from Walmart up here in Washington state as well. Will see what happens when the second season of Masterverse comes out, despite the hate the first season got, the second one is looking good to me.

Thanks! The stickers are from a seller named JusticeFighters on Etsy. The paint is Navy Blue Gloss color, Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultracover Paint + Primer. Before painting plastic, it's recommended you scour off and remove the thin layer of coating on all parts using abrasive pads. I also used gray primer from the same brand, though it is probably not necessary. If you do use primer, I recommend letting it dry fully before painting over it. The directions say you can paint over within 1 hour of priming or after 24 hrs. I tried applying top coat within the one hour time frame and it did not come out well. Some of the primer liquified again and bubbled up through the top coat. I ended up having to scour and sand those parts down to plastic again and start over, and even then some of the pock-marking from the original mess was still visible. Good luck and have fun with your customs!
