I build my own workout sort of like a Choose Your Own Adventure book from the scholastic book fair back in the day. Walk in, wanting to do legs (jk), see a bench is open: select that path. Ask my magic 8 ball how many sets and reps to do. Hit bench, need to do shoulder press or incline next, all the adjustable benches near the DBs are taken, see the leg press is open: choose that path and use it to do vertical pressing. Ask 8 ball, repeat. Ask 8 ball, repeat, and so on and so forth until the 500mg of caffeine wears off.

Damnit Dr Mike. I've been doing my training in my notepad for so long that I basically do all this stuff anyway but you are selling me more and more on the convenience of this every time I see it in action. It's easier for me to pretend it's not a thing when I don't see it but being able to pin the note about machine settings and have it pop up on those days may have just sold me on it. Damn you and your good products.

Im enjoying your app thus far. Im a 52 year old guy who lifted intensly for a year and then stopped for about 6 years. Im working on getting back to the same condition i was in 6 years ago and then pushing forward from there. I believe strength training is important to getting the most out of those "golden years." While getting jacked isnt the end goal for a guy my age, being strong and relevant is. That doesnt mean i dont want to look good and build my physique it just means I get it that age robs you of certain things. Thanks for everything you share and a great app.

As a jiu jitsu practitioner Dr. Mike I would have assumed you would have been exposed to laying curls a long time ago. I've taught for awhile now and and my instructor in the mid 1980s used "back to front" or awkward/off angle strength movements from the very start with us to build support muscles groups but it slo developed strength against normal movement ranges for highly developed functional strength. I have no idea what the modern kinesiology take is on these exercises but they saved my joints on a LOT of occasions. Great video Doc thanks.

Completed my 1st meso & am starting my second. It's like have a personal trainer with me at all times, because the instructional vids remind me what good technique looks like. My schedule is erratic, so I like that I can use Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 instead of weekdays, and I am actually growing muscle. 💪 I love the meso overview too, to see my progress. Would love to see my total volume tracked by exercise too, if you're taking suggestions.

Week 4 and 5 were absolutely brutal, I had lots of joint pain, and long story short, my new meso I just started this week is going to be 4 weeks up and 1 week down. Hopefully that's the right balance. It's nice to know that I can still drop it by one week if I really need to as well for the next one.

Love your vids Dr-Mike you saved me from the Black Hole of RUclips BS. I started lifting a few months back and im getting stronger fast.
Im pushing close to failure almost every workout, or what I think is.
Unfortunately I'm having trouble getting my muscles sore after a workout. I know that sounds like bs. bro you're not going to failure if you're not sore after workout.
I started leg pressing with strict technique and a full range of motion around 400 lbs three sets of 10 to 15.
The first month that really exhausted me and I got sore.
I'm now up to 700 lbs 10 to 15 reps three different sets and I'm not getting sore anymore after my workout.
I tried to drop set going from 700 lb 10 to 15 reps three different sets. Then 500 lbs 10-15 three sets then to 300 lbs 10-15 sets and that worked. I was fried for a week. I just did the same thing and im not sore even a day later. Tired just not sore.
Long comment, hope you see it. Thanks for the help.

YOU CAN RECOVER FROM MORE. You can also train and improve recovery. Your body makes more of the needed enzymes when it figures out you are lifting everyday and recovery accelerates. Ever see a guy that can out drink you and still walk because he drinks a ton all the time? His liver learned to produce and keep more of the enzyme around that breaks down booze. He trained to drink more and drink more often. Same works with muscle growth and recovery. Same works on endurance training. Same works on strength and size. Adapt folks, your body is an adaptive machine when you apply stressors!

In my heaviest load week in my first meso in the app/website. I'm a newbie so a lot of my progress is probably just learning technique and mussel/mind connection but I've seen progress that is amazing and encouraging me to keep it up. I love being able to look back at where I was and seeing my progress week to week over a particular exercise.
I will definitely make my own workout later but right now I'm happy just using the templates that are already programmed in.

I’ve been waiting for a day like this! I have always been curious about the RP Hypertrophy app but never sold on it because it’s hard for me to justify spending money on things unless I see exactly how it’s used. Curious to see how the video goes!

Dr. Mike can you please make a video about how to build a 6 day Legs-Push-Pull program? Thank you for your time and consideration! 🙏

oh yeah, 6 days push-pull-leg sounds great, ive been doing that for a few months now and its pretty nice that all of the muscles in some form or another "train each other" but this workout split will be pretty good for summer bulk, for a bit of variety

I love the app and use all your training tips from watching what seems like 100s of videos now and it's completely changed how I train. In the past I've always used a ton of variations with supersets, drop sets, rest pause, and then your myo rep match sets. I'd like to hear your tips on how to utilize these the best way for each through the RP App now. My first Meso Cycle I've kept it simple and selected all as straight sets. So what I mean is how would you personally like to see the weight drop etc by maybe percentage or whatever you suggest so that we're setting up our down sets properly? Maybe some coaching on that next? Thanks Dr Mike!
