I pick them up too if they are face up. My pet peeve when I'm gambling tho is when someone is standing directly behind me watching my machine. Idk why that bothers me, but it does!!

I think they are trying to see what's hitting or they can't play and they watch but they shouldn't be right behind you. Seems like they have the chairs in a circle now where before Convid they were rows.

When I have change value remaining in a machine, I cash it and save the tickets until Im done gambling. Then, i split them and hand them to the first two casino staff that I see cleaning a machine, srlf serve drink bar or changing bags in a trash can. Honestly, I never see them getting tipped. Sometimes, i have almost $40-$50 to tip out to them. I don't do it on superstition though.
