I'm really honored my brother! I'm my self Congolese, Born in Dem Rep of Congo in Kinshasa precisely. currently Living in the UK, you didn't tell the whole story but what you told, was brief and pretty in depth coming from some one living in the US. I'm particularly not of the Kongo tribe, I'm of a tribe that was created from the KONGO people that were living in the Kwango Savannah area and the Lunda Empire, it was a fusion of kingdoms and they called themselves "The Yaka",( i can tell you more if you wish). I see you love studying about ancient African kingdoms, i suggest you also look into the Yaka kingdom (and the constant attacks we caused the Portuguese), the Lunda Empire and the Luba Empire these Great Empires of central Africa, we're unified now as DR Congo. keep up he good work bro. Us In Congo have more modern relations with the Europeans than you black Americans, who we share so much with, which is sad, keep doing what your doing feed knowledge to those that lack it. Peace!.

Very well executed! My great grand mother was from Kongo. Her actual name I don't know but they named her Carrie and kept her in the house to cook, clean and raise their children. My grandmother, Carrie's youngest daughter was a quite woman. One day I had to ask because I saw something was there that she never spoke on. There was something royal about her. It was greatly resonated in her every body movement; her walk, speech, her dance, her worship her wisdom and strength. Oh the stories I've heard of how great a people the Congolese were and still are! But I must warn you to not be persuaded by water of demons. It is full of parasites and other pollutions. Be careful to drink waters from your own cistern. You will learn more and of the truth from someone who is educated and of direct decent. However, you've done an excellent job! I will be looking forward to hearing more from you.

I am Congolese and the part about the Bangala people was still used even by the Belgium during colonisation. Lingala is now widely spoken throughout the country because it was the language of the army. Most of the people in the army were Bangala. I heard many tales from people sharing their experience of that area. They don't waste time on arguments. They just fight.

It really seems that the downfall of African people are two folds two trusting and outside religions? Trusting those that you trade with to be honorable and to keep their word. And adopting outsiders religious practices, wow. This also seems to be the issue with other peoples of color. Native Americans, Indians, phillipino, Australian Aborigines, and the Tasmanians which are now extinct due to Europeans.

    Hello brother,
I’ve just watched your video on Kingdom of Kong and I’d like to congratulate you for your brilliant job. However, I would like to point that despite Nimi a Lukeni being probably from a region that is present day RDC, the Kingdom of Kongo was centered in present day Angola (it’s capital Mbanza Kongo still is the capital of Northern Angola province Zaire). Reading the comments, I noticed that many people are quickly associating Kingdom of Kongo with present day DR Congo, whose south was indeed part of the Kingdom at some point but has never been part of the core cities/counties of the Kingdom, both Republic of Congo and DR Congo became “Congos” only after the Berlin Conference when Africa gained three Congos: (i) Portuguese Congo, formerly Kingdom of Kongo and present day Northern Angola; (ii) French Congo, formerly Loango Kingdom and present day Republic of Congo or Congo Brazzaville and (iii) Belgian Congo, originally named Congo Free State and present day Democratic Republic of Congo.
Not long ago, I’ve shared my thoughs on similar grounds on a Metropolitan Museum of Arts’s post on their blog covering their exhibition of Kongolese art and I share it with you here:
“Great exhibition, too bad I did not have the opportunity to visit NY in 2015. I always wonder why so little is known about the influence of Central Africa in the construction of the Creole culture of the New World. The dominance of Yoruba and other West African narratives don’t even come close to be balanced with the numbers of exported slaves (Angola exported more enslaved people to the Americas than Nigeria and Ghana combined, see Nathan Nunn) and your wonderful exhibition is a step in the right direction.
However, seems to me, you make little effort to emphasize that what is known as Kingdom of Kongo is basically present Northern Angola, although in its hay day the Kingdom extended its borders to present day Gabon, it’s main cities, cultural and economic hubs have always been in Northern Angola. Both Congos became known as Congo only after the Berlin Conference (post slave trade)and exported much smaller numbers of slaves than present day Angola (Kongo+Angola Colony) so basically most references to Kongo in the New World are related to the peoples of Angola and enslaved people from kingdom of Ndongo (via wars waged by both European and Kongo monarchs).
However, one cannot deny cultural similarities between Northern Angolan provinces (Cabinda, Zaire, Uíge and partly Malanje and Lunda) with Southern RD Congo and Republic of Congo but I don’t think it’s correct to over correlate Kingdom of Kongo with present day Congos, particularly because present day Republic of Congo is basically the post-colonial Kingdom of Loango.
    Congratulations for your brilliant exhibition.”

Jose Carlos Costa Jose Carlos Costa Kingdom of Kongo was a federation like kingdom. All of those small kingdom e.g Loango, matamba etc.. Were part of it. Don't really see where the problem is, when most Angolans are oblivious to their African history and heritage also don't even speak their native language at home but in the other two Congos, we still hold it close to us.

Actually , Congo-Kinshasa was Kongo before the European invasion, during the colonisation and after the colonisation. The only thing that was changed was the spelling "Kongo" to "Congo", and during the 2th republic when the name was changed to "Zaire" but it's back to it's original name "Kongo" but still have the "C" which needs to be changed. Congo-Brazzaville was once called "Province Equatoriale Francaise". Also, it's not only Angola that have more people exported as slaves, Kongos from both Congos did pay a heavy price too and not only to the America but also in Middle-East and Asia. Among the Tidis People of India, there are Kongos from Congo-Kinshasa, in Japan, there are lot of names similar to those of East, Center of Congo (Kinshasa) and Bas-Congo.
Remember Tipo Tip? Also, in Angola and Tanzania there were trading places/departure places of the captured Kongos to be taken to the Goree Island and from there to the America. The Portuguese were also in West Gongo from Bas-Congo to Equateur. Even after the abolition of slavery, some Arabs were still capturing people from Congo-Kinshasa and that's why Swahili is spoken in East Congo. Don't forget that half of the population form Congo-Kinshasa was taken into slavery, 10 millions were killed by Leopold II and today, there is the depopulation and extermination of Congolese People and the entire world is not doing nothing about it since it is an international conspiracy.
FYI. There have been 3 great kingdoms in Africa, in West there were the Ghana, Tsonge and Mali empires which combined all the West African countries of today, in center, the Kongo Kingdom , all countries from the center and in East Africa, the Empire of Ethiopia, which combined all the countries in East Africa. The Europeans mostly are the ones that destroyed all those kingdoms and empires for economic reasons and control.

The true story of the world never been told. Lot of part that were hidden, are coming out. As said Patrice Lumumba "real history of Congo will be written by Congolese themselves". Congo-Kinshasa is one country that the imperialists don't want for the world to know about. The history of that country has been falsify in a great scale. Today, the imperialists are trying to invent a tribe/ethnicity in Congo-Kinshasa that never existed before as well as other things. I am Congolese from Congo-Kin.

Jeanne Suila you’re a liar! Present day Congo is NOT Kongo kingdom! DRC and Congo are a amalgam of MANY DIFFERENT ETHNIC GROUPS! It’s didn’t extend it’s authority that far! You wanna know how I know you’re lying? Because I’m also half Congolese so I grew up hearing all those propaganda... The only reason y’all think it’s related to YOU is because of the push for Unification and Nationalism in DRC and also because a BELGIAN dude discovered the ancient texts of the Kongo era and wanted to use that to push the spread of Christianity!

We DO know our history and languages and NO Lingala is NOT Kikongo! Lingala is a pidgin language born from the trades with Portuguese-> mesa in lingala is ACTUALLY old Portuguese for table and -> Sapatu is sandals (ALSO PORTUGUESE) so there’s nothing “pure” or ancient about Lingala-.-

While Kong does mean hunter, Kongo also means iron. The ManiKongo means the iron king. This was because the kingdom was built on the technology of iron and cloth. You forgot to mention Lukeni lua nimi, the founder of the country. The sculpture you show was form from iron. This was an amazing demonstration of the Kingo's mastery of iron. The succession of kingship in the Kongo was controversial cause dynastic houses fought for the throne due to intermarriage and nobility, the most notorious of them been the House of Nzinga and kimpanzu. Now I'm a Kikongo from both my parents side and their would tell me this stories when I was a kid. I can also trace my family from the house of Kimpanzu. I'm thankful for your informative channel though.

great job... just to assist .. the KINGDOWN of KONGO or the ETHNICY of the BA KONGO is not equal to Congolese (s) when u say a MU KONGO it's different to a COngolese, in plural you have to had a BA in front of KONGO and MU KONGO as one of them... actually they make a use of ne' KONGO to show respect and honour some thing close to that. as by countries, yes it's tricky and confusing .. Angola (Ngola) was Congo portugal , and the others one French and other Belgium beside that they still claiming Gabon.... it's relly complex comparing to what was shown on the map.. until now u can trace up to Namibia, well probably they ran and were so afraid to be taken away ..., be side that great work .

The first major conflict was in 1622 in which the Portuguese were defeated. Yet the Portuguese continued to be aggressive and had some victories in Angola... Then civil unrest. Ironically the Portuguese attacked during the civil unrest and was soundly defeated in 1670. Later near the end of the 19th century Portugal had some success controlling the already destabilized Kingdom.

Brother go study the Bantu grammar, and compares with the Semitic grammar, and you will be surprised with the results it is the same. All Bana, Bena, Muana, Wana, Ana (child and children in Bantu idioms) are all descendants of the Tata or Baba (father) Abana. The original name of Abraham is Abana, and means father of children.
Name of Abraham does not mean father of nations, as the system translated in the Bible.
because nations in Hebrew = גּוֹי H1471 - Goey, pronounced "go·E", the same word in Bantu NGOY or Ngou. the letter N and M are codes in the Bantu language, it is nasal accent!
The word Bantu derives from the Hebrew word Muth H4191 מוּת and mean deadly or fatal. Now if our Nkakas (which derives from the biblical Hebrew word KAKAK means elder governor in Hebrew as the Bantu) chose this Hebrew word for person, it is because there is no immortal person. (Mut, Mutu, Muntu, is singular of the word Bantu)
You see , I am a Mutu, which comes from the ancient Kongo Hebrew Muth H4191 מוּת mortal you find it in the Manda: H4486 מַנְדַּע LAW, knowledge, and NABI, H5030 נָבִיא prophet?
Besides thé more we have thé same names as thé Jews of thé scriptures
Example: the Jewish name Ziba (2 Samuel 16: 1-3) is the same as NTSIBA, brother or sister of one of the twins in Bantu ..!
Job (Yombe in Hebrew) H347 אִיּוֹב ,same name as Ba-Yombe, a Clan os the Ba-Kongo branch in Angola.
KAZAVUBU? comes from the Hebrew word ZAVOUB; dwbz; Son of Nathan, the prime minister under Solomon (1 Kings 4: 5).
Nsele. ? comes from the Hebrew word Tsele? meaning glu crevasse, one of the heroes of King David (2 Sam. 23: 37; 1 Chron 11: 39).
    COUNTRY: Uganda
Uganda? comes from the Hebrew word HOR -GUIDGD or GOLD GANDA, dgdgh RX (Camp) in language Bambala. Gouganda also means camping.
Let's compare some of Hebrew grammar.
Example: Moabi, Mu'āb; Hebrew: מוֹאָב meaning in Hebrew of the Father. Is the same in Bantu!
Nzinga Mu'ndungo means Nzinga of Ndongo. Mu'xicongo means of Congo Earth. Mozambique means of, Zambi. MU or Mo in Bantu as biblical Hebrew has the same meaning.
To finish, I would like to recall that the Hebrew Bible as well as the Bantu both celebrated new moon party. Now, how did the Hebrews called the new moon?
Answer: kodeh and Bantu? Answer: kODEH, you think it's coincidence?
You should know that mother tongue betrays the origin of any person
    CHALENU (GOODBEY)!

alan mwene shut your mouth if you have nothing to say ok!
to this day no one can tell the origin of the Bantu languages. what do you think fucking ignorant?
Do you know the famous linguist Nkongo Tata Miguel NEKAKA?
The famous linguist Nkongo often ignoraded, was Tata Miguel NEKAKA in the 19th century. He translated significant parts of the English Bible into Kikongo including the book of Ruth in Nkanda Nzambi (the Holy Bible).
A Nkongo doctor of theology, graduate in Brazil and Hebrew language teacher said he prefers to read the Nkanda Nzambi due to etymological approach of many words and Kikongo expressions to the Hebrew language. This confirms the excellent work of the translators one of course, Tata Miguel Nèkáka.
Now do you know Simão Kimbango Who Said the Bible is Actually history of BANA KONGO ??
Who are you, are you linguistic? Do you know the biblical Hebrew? If not shut your dirty mouth!
You would ignore and judge a black teacher without making sure first?
Look I do not know who you are? But I'm Bantu and my MISSION is to prove the innocence of our brothers, our ancestors, our messengers.
that's why we do research on this subject, to see if our brother murdered were right or wrong.
One of our major findings is that the Bantu people not only speaks language of Semitic grammar, but also their way of dressing. The Bantu dresses like the Semites, Bantu has Semitic fashion!
If the Bantu people were African descendant of Ham, the Bantu would dress as the ''Hamitic'' peoples and not as the Semitic peoples who are outside of Africa!
I'm proud to be Bantu Kongo. The name AFRICA actually has nothing to do with me, who gave me this name was the white master, why do I have to be proud of it?
If the Israelites were white the bible would say so.
But the Bible says that Israelite people was black with curly hair.
The Bible also says that the israel people would be dwelling in africa in the end oftimes [mean even in modern times ] . the place of habitation of them would be beyond the rivers of Cush, rigion known in medival maps as ''Upper Ethiopia''.
One more reason to investigate who are these people that the prophet of the Bible [before was the hebrew scriptures] spoke. this is how we will know if the Bible speaks truth or not!
Otherwise there will be no other way, we can not ignore the scriptures without having concrete evidence!
You do not know our history..
      Once again shut your mouth!

Do not confuse things bro ..NZUMBI = demon
and NZAMBI or NYA-MBI (which derived from YAH-ABI) = holy father, God
Also known as NYA-MBE, to other tribes is NZA-MBE (derived from YAH-ABE), while others say: NYA-MBA, NZA-MBA (derived from YAH-ABA).
Because the transmission of tradition is oral, some pronounced with letter '' Z ''
Studies the Bantu language, the Bantu grammar is 100% Semitic ..We are the hebrews israelites of Africa. According to the vision and, prediction of the prophets ..Isaias 18: 7 and Zephaniah 3: 11.20.10 ..from beyond the rivers of Cush (now Sudan) is central Africa to South Africa, the Bantu area

This to all of Us folks, let's no go against this brother's research, we are just so confused as well, sure I can tell and yes we do. some of Us are so confused. When them explora came they knew nothing of Us or who were. and yet Us and this present generation are reading from them. tell me something then. how will you know that ANGOLA wasn't be called ANGOLA instead of NGOLA? and other one ZAIRE instead of NZADI ? many more yet we accepted it and now when people are saying that Angola only have less BA KONGO people to say, is it because the do not speak KI KONGO or something different? this is what many didn't know according to hierarchy, The KINGDOM of KONGO should be look at the MAIN block or the Top and within that KING DOWN breaks Sub kingdoms and Clans so now we shouldn't or really be aware of where and who or what do u really wanna comment or argue about. in Angola you find the BA MBUNDU right? and in other side you find the BA MBUNDA both will be written this way. B MBND =B MBND can u see that we are so confused, yes our generation is confused than our ancestor they had wisdom and information about the truth of them selves. yes you might find Indigenous people or aborigines' people as you wanna call them, but they truth lays behand the Language. so in angola you get the The Himba which it sounds close to KU YIMBA or KU (H)IMBA the H stays mute . so it doesnt really affect anything . so many of them knows that Singing in they language or dialect is to sing so now who are those HIMBA? or BA HIMBA... hahahhahaha someone must be really confused or just out of their mind. an other this how come the cam God or they creator MUKULU the read it MUKURU? an other Ki KONGO word means ELDER. so i'm trying or wanting to confuse people on here... i went to namibia but i was surprise about the way i was understanding the language well some of their words. so to close this... the KI KONGO language was the MAIN LANGUAGE back then who were Spoken by the Ethnic Group of known as BA KONGO.. with time passed they have multiplied into an extend to have many sub groups and clans ... that is where were are getting confused... how will you know that the KUMINA are from that same ethnic? well it's easier because KU MINA is a KI KIngo and is Sub Dialects word. we have to assist our selves learn more... I believe in Namibia still linked to the BA KONGO ethnicity ... In deep southern africa You will get many Clans name simillar to the BA KONGO people to say google or look for teh NgoXongo or NgXongo..... can u see that NgKongo or Ngokongo was a codec message? look let no one tell you wake up and find who you are. do not let them tell you that in angola u find less people from that Ethnicity yet the Capital was there? is that pocible? who know the radian ? before the told us that Gabon wasn't there yet we are reading Gabon now some even saying some part of Southern Cameroun are Linked as well hahahha, this is madness if there's place call BA KONGO in Namibia then what more do u wanna know? or more prove do you want? isn't Namibia over Angola? then even that Desert name is in Ki Kongo but with time they have lost the proper spelling yes... there's a link on you tube where an other breather is talking about it.... KI KONGO has so many Dialects that is How deep that thing is' so deep, and with respect they call a MU KONGO person as a ne' Kongo / stay well hope i shared my little knowledge
