This is a beautiful view from Singapore to Indonesia I.e the hills and blur buildings are in indonesia : Camera used is Powershot sx60 hs, The distance between singapore and indonesia is estimated roughly 40 KM.

I hope that can be true. downsides of p900, is no external mic jack, no hot shoe, no RAW file, and it's noisy motor, which with external mic jack would be nice, it also needs better stabilizer. I'd be totally happy if it had improved AF. It blurs too easy. But my main concern is its jerkiness, and motor noise. glad it was so inexpensive..
its 83x optical zoom
slikdarelic it has an 83x optical zoom, that's the difference between the widest and narrowest.
effective mm in 35mm terms in 2000mm.
if you want to see the furthest, ignore the xxx optical zoom on a camera and look for one that has the highest mm equivalent.
Cannon hs50 hs 50x optical zoom.. Max 1200mm, sony hs 400 I think, 63x optical zoom max 1200mm.
so yea this one sees further because it goes upto a 2000mm equivalent distance in 35mm terms.
in theory a 40x optical zoom can reach further than a 50x optical zoom.
it all depends on the starting and finishing points of the lens.
sounds confusing well it can be.
just look for a bridge that has the highest 35mm equivalent at its max and ignore the optical zoom jargon.
I've got a 1200mm lens that I uses with a 2x teleconvertor to give me 2400mm so I can see further than this video shows and my optical zoom is actually zero as it's a fixed lens.
So an object needs to be further than 100 ft away before I can even focus. lol.
I've used the above camera and yea it's pretty damn good in good light
Excuse my english, but if 50mm is cosidered to be realistic lens, is p900 about 40X in reality, because it's compared to 24mm? I give a huge exaggeration to make it clear (or more unclear, lol): I have 10x binoculars, and turn them around, so the view is 10x further than real view, so I could say that I have 20x relative zoom. If we assume that 50mm is 'neutral' view, then 24mm as a reference is towards fisheye (minimizing). I know this is not so simple calculation, because it also matter how big is the picture/video you evetually look at - monitor size that is.

If you compare zoom to how much larger an object will be from it's original size, the p900 would have 4x zoom. Not really sure what the metric is.
This is not the world's longest zoom camera. Nikon P900 is the leader as of now with 83x optical zoom.

I used google maps to measure the distance from Singapore to Indonesia from coastline to coastline and it's around 16 Km. But you are far away from the coastline and the building you are focusing is on the mountaintop far away from the shore so you could be right about 40 Km.
im curious how u can see pictures after zooming in 40km as the earth should be curved and out of sight?

I think this is the Nikon P900 it cost 450 to 500€ and has 83x optical Zoom. A newer one exists and is called P1000 that has 125x optical Zoom but it cost 900 up to 1000€ And yes it can record Videos as you see in this RUclips Video, how should this video be made when the Camera can’t record Videos?

a very simple way to see even further is to mount your cam to a spotting scope i bet than u can see across the straight

Its definitely 40 km. You can look further than you might think. On clear days in can see a mountain (just over 1000m tall) from my home village which is about 50 km away
And we will still say that human eyes are best ...
They are, we still see distant objects much clearer than any camera, we just can't zoom in on them

40x9=360"÷12=30feet or 10m of curvature

Imagine getting a friend on thwt boat and having him wave at the camera
U can see that, even with the zoom all the way, that building is still standing straight and not curved and there is NOTHING behind the building leading many to believe it's behind the curve, but really, you would still see something since that building is still visible high up, but yet nothing behind it. There is some kind of long distance haze that seems to prevent us from seeing further.
Doesn't look like full 40km to me; not enough haze and shimmer for tropical air ("seeing" around Singapore isn't usually very good). But even if it is, 40km is 1/1000th of the circumference of Earth, so about 0.4 degrees of curvature. Think you could see by eye a tilt away from you of less than half a degree? Heck, the average builder can't construct to such fine tolerances.
yeah but my comment was geared more towards the fact that you can see that building, but not much else behind it. It's weird. It didn't just " suddenly " curve, right after the building you know?
The Indonesian islands south of Singapore have hills around 50m high, some with plenty of water behind. No sudden curve needed: sea level is hidden behind the foreground, gradual curve has lost a lot of height before the next elevated land is reached.

This videos gives me a clear prove that the earth is not a sphere ..its only our eyes that are intended to view a certain distace towards the horizon bt the 83X nikon p900 camera zoomed more of a limit that our eyes can see...an image zoomed at more that 80x will make that image curved making it to bend.. and distort its original shape ...its simple observation and conclusions that will drive answers !!!! Come on guys ..what do u thing the earth's shape could be???

Is there anyone who can personally prove the curvature? we "flaturfers" have video showing the horizon being a straight line at thousands of different heights and angles.
All ive seen of the curve was either a multimillion dollar company or a fisheye lens.
Sailors who actually went to school went around the globe to find out that they came back to the place they started. If one of you flat earthers were to actually try and find out yourselves, you owe us an apology. Also at any angle you cant see the so called "end" of the earth anyway. The reason you cant see the curvature is because the earth is too big for our vision to recognize the curvature. Also if that video of what you were describing was accurate, then it should have a picture showing the curvature from a space station.
