Seven Spires is an American metal quartet who enjoy drawing from across the spectrum of metal and beyond to tell their tales of demons, death, love, and the peculiarities of the human condition. The band’s sophomore album, “Emerald Seas," is a highly emotional, dark, and theatrical epic.
“‘Succumb’ was written in the heart of Boston while we were still attending Berklee,“ explains vocalist Adrienne Cowan. “As many of our songs do, it began as vocals and piano, and then we fleshed out the rest of the arrangement together. I suppose everyone has their own experiences and hopefully will interpret the lyrics to the song in their own way, but in the story of “Emerald Seas”, the main character has departed on their long journey and is indulging in memories of someone quite special instead of focusing on their quest. It's a bittersweet one... but aren't they all? :)”
“Emerald Seas” is a theatrical concept album, and is the prequel to the story of their debut full-length “Solveig”. The album follows a lone sea captain on their quest for eternal life while being hunted by an ancient beast and struggling with loneliness, sacrifice, alcoholism, and the unexpected weight that comes with achieving one’s goals. Seven Spires’ signature blend of melancholic beauty and emotional brutality on “Emerald Seas” is the sonic manifestation of the silent emptiness that chills one's insides when staring across bleak, open waters.
The band explains the influences behind the album, “Musically, “Emerald Seas” is influenced by our usual mix of melodic and extreme metal favorites and Hans Zimmer worship. We immersed ourselves deeply in 19th Century Romantic music and art while writing this record, and I like to think some traits from that era are present as a result. It's highly emotional; sweet and melodic at times, and quite dark and brutal at others, especially when dealing with themes like losing one's fear of death.”
The band, as with their debut, collaborated with Sascha Paeth (Avantasia, Kamelot, Epica, etc), who mixed and mastered the album. Incidentally, Adrienne Cowan was handpicked by Paeth to front his new band, Sascha Paeth’s Masters of Ceremony and she is also one of the touring vocalists for the hugely popular Avantasia.
Seven Spires met while studying at the world renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, so we need not spend much time going on about their musical capabilities, but needless to say, the band’s musicianship is in keeping with the metal tradition of tirelessly working to be the best at your craft. Singer Adrienne Cowan is a true talent, with vocals ranging from the beautiful to the demonic, while her bandmates Jack Kosto (guitar), Peter de Reyna (bass), and Chris Dovas (drums) weave intricate musical tales to accompany the lyrical tales presented here.
Seven Spires continue Frontiers' tradition of identifying and signing the most promising young talents to ensure that the future of hard rock and metal music is in good hands.

@@Aidan.G You can pre-order it from Seven Spires website. I don't know about shipping but it's not too expensive if you don't live in the states.
cant wait for the album to drop going be listening to both back to back to get whole picture.
This is a like a metal Disney princess song. I mean that as the greatest of compliments.
She sings like a Disney princess and screams like a demon.
Yes, it sure has that Musical Theatre vibe to it, in that beautiful melody and emotional vocals.
I could totally see it as a musical number on a disney movie tbh
Adrienne singing Clean Vocals is Heaven
Couldn't agree more... Absolutely awesome!!
Accurate af
She's quickly becoming one of my favourite female vocalists.
@@maxmattt I Love her Clean Vocals
Her clean vocals are better than her guturals.
This band rules. Period.
Totally!
I couldn't agree more. Thanks for scooping em up and giving em some label support. They need to be huge.
It really does.
Yup, I will be seeing them in August.
@@dragluian SAME! August 22nd!
I like that part where Peter's all "boodelybeedelyboodelybooboobeeedelyboo"
I like that part too
HAHAHAHAHA Best comment ever
No way, the part where he goes deedlydeedlydeeeededeedly is way better
OMG!!!!! I'm dying of laughter ... but you ARE right!!!!!😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
@@JokestrapSexyTime bass is no joke.
I'd like to thank Adrienne Cowan for involving Sascha Paeth in mixing Seven Spires albums, which led to Sascha Paeth bringing Adrienne Cowan onto Avantasia's live tour, and Tobia Sammet's Avantasia, therefore, for bringing me here.
Same here :-)
Saaaame!
Me too o/
her and Tobias sound god damn amazing together holy hell heard them together in studio song yesterday and holy crap wow
Same!!
I'm pretty sure that she has moved into my Top Favorite Vocalists...
Mine too!!
Mine too o/
I wish she moves in with me.
Just discovered Seven Spires today, and I agree, she has instantly moved into one of my favorite female vocalists (I'd say Anette Olzon ex Nightwish was in that spot before). I did see Adrienne with Avantasia on tour in 2019. Didn't know she was a growler.
I discovered Seven Spires last day evening so I wasnt really concious anymore when listening, went to youtube today and got recommendations on the gods of debauchery, listened to it, remembered I had already listened to it. For the last hour I've been binging this band. I dont remember last time a vocalist made it into my top 5 list this fast!
Peter and Jack's solos in this are so underrated. They are absolutely phenomenal and Peter is one of the better bassists I've seen in recent years. Looking forward to seeing more
Discovered this band on tour with Dragonforce. What an incredible surprise! They are really stellar. This song's main melody & chorus are absolutely massive.
They're better than dragonforce
I had been hearing their name for years now and never gave them a shot as they were always described just as "symphonic metal", which I am just tired of the same tired cliche "female fronted symphonic metal" bands. Today something got me checking them out and I have realized how much more than just "symphonic metal" they are, as they blend all kinds of styles of metal. As a person who loves all kinds of metal this is right up my alley and I literally just purchased all 3 of their LP's.
same, i went and listened to all their stuff after the concert, everytime i go see dragonforce I find a band I like that ive never heard of. Additionally, Adrienne Cowan is cool af, got a pic with her after the show
Her voice gives me chills this song brings tears to my eyes what a masterpiece
I can't stop listening to this. Somehow I missed the release, and just heard it while listening to the whole album. One of the best symphonic metal songs I've ever heard.
I can't get enough of Seven Spires, this band is synonymous of perfection. Versatility and virtuosity in every album.
One of the wonders of our time.
This Song is BEAUTIFUL and so are YOU Adrienne.
Holy crap man. Just got introduced to this band with Debauchery a few days ago, which is great, but this is something else. I've listened to this at least a dozen times today and it keeps getting better. The kind of music that makes you wish you knew more people that would get it to share it with. I'm late to the party, but this is fucking stellar stuff and I needed to say it.
Welcome to the party 🍷
Dude same.
I found this band by accident an hour ago looking up dimmu borgir and I can’t stop listening to it. This is the greatest thing I’ve ever heard. Purist voice ever!
Seven Spires is so underrated. I love how versatile, powerful and beautiful Adrienne's vocals are. To think that Succumb and Gods of Debauchery are two songs from the same band is so awesome. I can't wait for more!!
She has a range that you don't hear from many of the mega pop or country singers. The fact she can go really low to something like this is not easy.
In fact it's really hard and if done wrong could damage your voice.
Also let's remember she is doing it over a drummer who is blast beating like it going out of style.
What an amazing song! Her vocal delivery and annunciation are absolutely SPOT ON! I can hear a good deal of maturity in her voice and love the juxtaposition between the light, breathy soft vocals and the strong full throaty singing in the verses. The individual musicianship of the other band members is completely incredible. Seven Spires is QUICKLY becoming a band to keep an eye and ears on for the foreseeable future. Also, turning into one of my favorite bands I've discovered in the last two years or so.
Finally! Now i really hope you'll be crossing the emerald sea over to Europe and play some shows ;)
The guitars in this song are literally FIRE.
Heard this song at the Houston Dragonforce concert and loved it!
Absolutely love everything Spires has done but I always keep coming back to this song. It's just perfection and pumps you up for anything!
Love, love, love!
AMAZING VOCALS!! THAT GIRL CAN SING!!!!
Unbelievable how you can make hope sound so natural with your songs it's amazing
I wish I could like this a thousand times
Saw them last night in Oslo, which was my first live show - absolutely stole the night, sooooo good!
Saw them live at PIerre's in Fort Wayne. Blew my mind. Instant fan.
new favorite band after seeing them in houston!!
@@austinbuley5937 hell yeah!
It’s amazing!!!
I really like the arrangement of melody and chords.
After finally completing my listening and rating of almost 400 albums from the year 2020, "Emerald Seas" stands above the rest as my favorite album from that year and unlike almost everything else I've listened to I've been compelled to return to it again and again. Seven Spires really created a beautiful and perfectly balanced album.
I can't get this song out of my head. The chorus and the melody are so catchy.
This band came up randomly on a feeling lucky playlist, and this song quickly became my favourite song of all time. The vocals are so smooth but so powerful, and the instrumentals are unforgettable. Definitely following this band, cannot wait to hear more from them.
How can this hit so hard like Disney tried to write it and it evolved into one of the most lovely stories to grace this side of a generation.
I love how diverse the music on this album is. Amazing performances!
Killer bass , awesome technical instruments , and wonderful harmony
I'm in tears this is so good.
Great band, this guys have talent. Adrienne have a powerful and dynamic voice.
This is song everything theatrical gothic power metal should be, nothing more nothing less. Its absolutely fantastic. Her.vocals ooze with skill and passion.
Amazing vocals from the lady herself. This band is amazing and deserve way more recognition 🖤✌🖤✌
Amazing! Ticks all the right boxes and it’s worth multiple listens! Absolutely love it; great job!
Did a few local shows with the group a few years ago. They are very tight live and extremely talented. They definitely stood out above most of the other local bands on the bill.
Great song & Adrienne looks nice also with blond hair - not to mention her amazing vocals.
When i was a young Pixie dwelling in the New Forest in 1980 , the only Witches with voices were Stevie Nicks and Kate Bush - Souxie Soux couldnt sing really. Girlschool were scary and smelt bad . So you youngsters are very lucky indeed. Fantastic ! Love from Wessex
They really are. So many great female fronted metal bands. Check out Eleine & Ignea too.
And so I succumb .. to holding in my excitement for Emerald Seas! See you in Worcester \m/-
That guitar solo. Hell the drums and bass and keyboards. 😍
Just found this band today....and I cannot imagine my life without this song now. So excited to get into their whole discography.
I absolutely love the little 'ding' at the very end of the song, a hearken back to the musical theme of Solveig (or rather forward to Solveig, since this album is the prequel haha). So excited for this album!
Very Kamelot-esque the way this song is put together.....I can just hear Roy Kahn singing that vocal.....BUT....fantastic work by this incredible vocalist, I can't wait to hear much, much more....
I became sort of obsessed with this song for a few weeks. It was basically my summer anthem this year.
I heard "Cinnamon Swirls" and I was sure I had misheard until I checked the lyrics. I think that should be the title.
FANTASTIC!!!MEGA-SUPER!!!!!!!!
Tolle Stimme, tolle Musik !!!
Beautiful song, beautiful melodies... what I love about this band is their flexibility. They have so different songs, you otherwise wouldnt expect to be on the same album or even same band. Sound is awesome, production is the same. Adrienne's voice is simply perfect, its the perfect balance of all different styles.
One thing that I thought, and that has absolutely nothing to do with the music itself, but is simply personal preference. ^^ The blond hair is not as fitting to Adrienne than the black hair. Also doesnt fit to her skin, but thats just personal taste. But no matter what hair color ^^ , i only found this band very recently, and I wish I had known them sooner. I see a very bright future here. Not to mention that i am very happy that they're with Frontiers Records, my absolute favourite music label. I think by now, over 40% of all my favourite bands is on this label. I'd love to see one of their festivals one day, but since they're mostly in Italy, not so easy to get there sometimes. Maybe you guys (Frontiers) could make some Festivals & more artist shows in other parts of Europe, like for example in Germany. ;)
EXCELLENT VIDEO / PERFORMANCE 👍 🎵♀️🖤🎸
Christ, what a hidden gem!
This band is incredible! If you haven’t heard it, I recommend you check out their first album as well! It’s so good!
I bet they will get real famous real soon
Just damn magic almost a month of listening to everyday and do not tire of them like Epica and Dimmu Borgir had a baby
Music shouldn't be allowed to be this good.
@2:51, look at Jack being al majestic AF
Her voice is like a Disney movie, but metal.......and that makes me a very happy girl.
Adriane!! You are the rules!! Amazing sound
Good God! This is THE Thing! One thing to rule them all! Sweet!
Killer band! Vocalist is unreal! SO good. Adrienne and Devin Townsend should do something together
That was awesome. I gotta get back to work. I snuck away to watch the premiere hahah.
A fantastic song - an amazing melody line presented by a wonderful voice. And the band plays so tight like a Thrash Metal band at high speed. With the precision of an atomic clock. And JACK's guitar solo is breathtaking.
I've loved everything I've heard, but this one is special. Great job, guys! Can't wait to see you in April! 🤘
Oh now its clear vocals!?! Oooooh I might really really like this O_O
Saw you guys in 2022 and have been in love ever since. This song is so gorgeous.
It's an amazing song with very talented musicians matched by a beatiful voice. It tends to remind me on some kind of musical or disney-song on steroids! This song has perfect balance between being epic and light / fluent at the same time. After Kamelot's "Center of the Universe" or "Forever" this is the kind of hymn modern, and in some way progressive, metal needs. I also love Adrienne as part of the Avantasia moonglow tour. Rock on guys!
ok so first off this is not my cup of tea for music genre...but i am also very open minded when it comes to listening to production in other genre's of all kinds..i actually draw inspiration and ideas from these things..i i first off want to commend the producer and individuals involved in mixing this track..i could not find one thing that i would even critique in any way..all the instruments sounded amazing and sat in the mix so well and this womans vocal range fit the chemistry if this song like a glove and did not over power the mix..if this is just a taste of what there album is going to offer than i would say fans of this genre of music should realy keep an eye on this band and buy all means support them..truly an awesome track..much respect
Chris, thanks so much for the kind words! Sascha Paeth was responsible for the mix on this track, as well as every other thing we've ever done! He's incredible, and was a massive part in so many influential metal records! Classic Kamelot, Epica, Rhapsody, Heaven's Gate, Beyond the Black, Avantasia... you name it! Glad you enjoyed, we have a new album coming in September of this year, I personally think it sounds even better! :)
Great great song! The wait for the new album starts here and now! 🤘🤘
Excelente banda! No tiene fronteras de sonido ni estilo, me encantó.
I can't get enough of this song! (I apologize for the coming clichè) Every note resonates with me in a very calming way. Thank you guys for making such a masterpiece!
This is incredible. Just found you. Oh muh fuqqin' gawd it's all so good. Heard all the songs today.
Que música linda, descobri essa banda em 2023 haha. Apaixonado 😙😍
Amazing - cannot wait for the full album!
Reading the tour dates breaks my heart
Goddamn, this sounds like a classic Disney musical but metal!
Damn! Her voice 😍
I'm highly impressed.... going to go practice guitar non stop now haha
I genuinely love this song
I think about the last thing I expected from Seven Spires was a genuine love song. I absolutely dig it, though.
Looks like it's from another concept album, from the description. That makes more sense, hahah. I can't wait! Solveig was one of my absolute favorite albums from recent years.
Love it!! Recognized it from the last couple times I saw Seven Spires live (also probably from a live vid floating around RUclips.)
Great song and playing ... love it....!
I found your band through drowner of worlds, love that song, but bruh these cleans are godlike and I can’t get enough
her voice and smile cheers me up...a phenomenal talent....muahh
Such POWER! Musical perfection!
Wow. Just Wow.
Great Video! My fingers got tired just listening to you play it. The tapping part was amazing and just at the right moment..
Awesome. Can't wait for the relaese of the new album!
Please come to Japan with the new album.
New to this band. LOVE the concept and all that goes with it. Such a nice clean vocals mix with the crazy guitars. Madness!
Sounds Badass Guys !!! Rocking Tune , Great Job \m/

Amazing!
This song is on fire, and so is Adrienne!!
That is Kamelot, back when Epica came out - This is AMAZING!!!
Worth the long wait! Excellent!
Awesome song guys, can't wait for the new album and tours!!
wow truly amazing you guys and gal give me reason to keep on living thanks from a true fan and I hope you will come back to rutland someday much luv Jjhernley
This was just... Amazing! Thank you for the music you bring us Spires!
I miss the dark vibes of Solveig but you still prove you can work with melodies well. Nice work.
Baryn deSade don’t fret! Plenty of dark/heavy stuff on the album as well, this is just one song 😉🍷
@@jackkosto Dude....bring us the dark/heavy stuff, we NEED it. 😆😆😆
@@jackkosto I love the contrast you created between Drowner of Worlds and Succumb. Though i tend to prefer darker stuff, succumb is amazing. I absolutely love both songs! I want more victorian style Adrienne, she looks great =)
WOOOOOW!!!!! AWESOME!!!! this song is really inspiring, and you my lady, your voice was made by the gods, i want to see you guys soon on Monterrey Mexico
