- It's been a long time since my last... anything that wasn't Everfree Northwest. I'm glad to be back. This time I'm discussing my theory that Celestia is actually Precognitive. Is the theory based entirely on that one scene during Tirek's first appearance? Yes. Yes it is. But I've worked with a lot less.
From here, I plan to focus more on my Reviewer Hat episodes. There's a lot more content there, and I find it much easier to edit those videos. I'm also thinking about making mini-sodes where I talk about certain things that happen later in the show, or even in G5. They would be mostly unedited with myself on camera. If anyone sees this, and is interested in that kind of thing, let me know.

Its fun to theorize about the things we enjoy. I tend to view Celestia as a caring teacher, with a kind of calculated risk side. But whose to say she does not also see the future at times? She might experience visions of the future that allows her to figure out how to influence the kitchen staff to make her favorite deserts that day without ordering them to do so XD

It's a pleasure to have you back. I agree with most of your theory, and I would like to add to it. The source of Celestia's premonitions, and her limitation have a common source, one that it's ironically very explicit in the series: Laughter. In the days of the Pillars, Laughter(also named Optimism) was known as Hope. Optimism and Hope have very much in common, they both expect for the best outcome be true. So what if the magic power of Laughter was premonition? Laughter has "Future Vision" that expressed itself as "Pinkie Sense", Dreams, Premonitions, and even the Twilight's Map.
What about the map? You think he couples sent there were coincidence? The MAP choose those ponies because they were the only ones that could solve that problem by acting as themselves.
So the power of Laughter is Future Vision.
That's definitely an interesting take. The map definitely chooses the correct creature/s for the problem at hand, so something in the magic of the Elements has a precognitive aspect.
It's hard to say if Pinkie's ability could qualify as short-term precognition, since they just sort of let that fall off instead of developing it.
