  • This is a COMPLETE Guide STEP by STEP as to How-to do a Phantom 3 (Professional/Advance) FIRMWARE UPGRADE for IOS devices. This video include the necessary preparation (Charging Batteries, Updating DJI Go App, Format MicroSd card), safety (removal of propellers, removal of camera and gimbal clamp holder), Download of Firmware (Aircraft 1.8.80; RC 1.6.0 and App 2.7.2), IMU Calibration, Gimbal Calibration, Flight test (at the end).

    Thanks for the video. Your the only video that made sense and explained the front LED light actually STOPS. Left mine on for 4 hours thinking the continuous flashing and buzzing was part of the process lol.

    Excellent video. I had a helluva difficult time doing the firmware upgrade for my new P3P. The instructions from DJI and the DJI GO app we ambiguous and confusing. Your video instructions were clear, concise and easy to follow. Thanks so much for posting this vid!

    thanks for you vid...would have been lost without it....but, I do seem to have a glitch and not sure whether I should repeat this process or not.....when I download a video I have taken from the sd card to my computer, the video is downloading correctly....it's jumpy or choppy....I can download the video from the phone app and it works perfectly. Have to wonder if the sd card is not working right....Any thoughts?

      If I am understanding your concern correctly, you just need to slow your shutter speed (if using 1080p @ 24 fps then use a shutter speed of 50 higher) or add ND filters (Neutral Density filter for sunny/bright days) like polar pro trademark.

    Good evening. I made all the correct procedure as said the noises and lights, however, to verify the update in the application not specified, was: Version: N / A and Remote controller: N / A.

      What Phantom version do you have? what mobile device do you have? what was the previous firmware versions were you running in the1) aircraft 2) RC 3)DJI GO app?

    Nice video, Thanks. I was able to do the upgrade on the camera/batteries but i was not able to do it on the RC. I think I followed the instructions but after I downloaded the DJI GO app into my tablet and installed it, I still cannot link it to the drone. What gives?
    I have a Phantom 3 advanced and when I run the app in the tablet, i get this instructions on How to Connect but when I go back to "equipment" it still does not show me the "camera" when i select the Phantom 3 Adv option. Pls help...!!!

      OK... I don't think what I did but, it is working now after I turned off everything and started all over again... that is, uninstalling DJI go and started from scratch... Thanks for this video again..... more power..

      re-start the mobile device, the app (or delete the DJI GO app and reinstal), then turn on the RC. Let me know if this works.

    Not sure what the problem is, but max default for flight distance reads 500m on my mobile device, how do I change that to read a max of 5000m (3.1miles)?

    hello,
    I have one question, how long the upgrade of phantom itself lasted? Because everyone says that its take a while, usually to half an hour...but mine was not finished even after an hour....so I turned it off since it seems that never will....:(

      +Milos Nikolic It took me 12 minutes in total (the actual upgrade). I do not the factors affecting the time to complete the upgrade, but that was my experience this time. My suggestion wait for the DDD/Solid LED light. My advice use a fully charged battery.

    hola buenas noches, te saludo desde argentina mi nombre es ibel, tengo un problema con mi ph3 pro, lo actualice a la version 1.9.60 y tambien actualice la radio, pero luego de despegar, y estabilizarse a 1,2 metros se aterriza solo, aparce un cartel que dice loss signal y se ateriza solo, las luces que estaban en color verde se pasan a amarillo flashean constantemente y aterriza. me podrias ayudar si sabes cual puede ser el problema. gracias

      Una solución rapida es: 1) Format (en el Phantom) la micro tarjeta o 2) compre una nueva micro tarjeta y Format en el Phantom 3) borre el cache dentro del DJI Go app 3) utilice la opción en el DJI Go app de reconectar transmisor con la aeronave.

    Hey Miquel There is a new update that came out in November I d/l it and installed all went well , my question is do you have to also update your controller and batteries ? It says there was a update but the screen was blank... thank you

      The 11/29/16 firware update released on that day is a ALL-IN-ONE firrmware update (Version 1.10.90), which include a package of information for aircraft, RC and DJI GO app.

    Hola buenas noches ,amigo tengo un problema y es que tengo la actualizacion 1.6.40 y la quiero actualizar a las dos ultimas que son la 1.8.80 y la 1.9.60, y estoy haciendo todos los pasos de descargar las actualizaciones descomprimir y solo dejar el archivo Bin en la micro y nada es como si no reconociera la tarjeta, y eso que es la original probe con otras y nada te agradezco me puedas ayudar gracias saludos desde Colombia.

      Primero, verifique que usted "unzipped" la actualización antes de descargarla en la micro tarjeta (si lo hizo-muy bien). Segundo, verifique que usted descargó el .BIN file en el "root" de la micro tarjeta Y NO DIRECTAMENTE EN EL FOLDER DE FOTOS QUE APARECEN EN LOS ARCHIVOS DE LA MICRO TARJETA (asegúrese que arrastró el BIN file en un espacio en blanco o siga el paso al pie de la letra que aparece en el video).
      Mi recomendación es que haga el procedimiento nuevamente. Inserte la micro tarjeta en en P3 y "formatearla" (format). Luego, ir a DJI.com y descarge la actulizacion deseada, asegurarse de "unzipped" (siga los pasos del video), arrastre el BIN file en el "Root" de la micro tarjeta (y No en el folder de photos el cual tiene "DCIM" con un icon de un archivo).
      Favor de dejarme saber si esta información le fue de alguna ayuda. Gracias por su apoyo.

      Hola amigo Miguel, pues te cuento es algo raro lo que me pasaba ya que antes lo actualice normal pero esta ves hice lo mismo y nada, dure todo un dia en eso y nada por eso te pedi opinion, pero valla sorpresa al otro dia hago exactamente lo mismo y de una empezo la actualizacion la 1.8 y enseguida hago lo mismo con la 1.9 y lo mismo de una empezo, la verdad no se que pasaba pero bueno de todas maneras te agradezco por la ayuda dada amigo saludos.

      y siga los pasos. Recuerde: 1: ir a DJI website y buscar el ZIp file correspondiente a su Phantom 3 4K; 2)asegurese de ver que la fecha de la actualización es reciente.

    So when I attempted to update the RC with my phone connected it said "upgrading" but never progressed from 0% and then proceeded to say device was disconnected. Any thoughts on what is going wrong here?

      Please provide more information: P #. My suggestion not knowing more, change the cable connecting your Rc to mobile device and make sure you first update your Aircraft, then mobile device operational system, then update DJI Go App, then the RC.

      What version in the Aircraft and what version are you trying to use. Make sure you downloaded the correct version of the firmware update.

    When I do the phone step to upgrade the remote it says check network connection where do I do that?

      If I am understanding your question correctly, you have to check if your phone has internet connectivity. You could check by going to facebook or any other website on your phone or tablet and if you have internet connection then you should be fine to update your phone to be able to update your remote. If not, then wait until you get a good internet connection to do the update.

      Si usted tiene multiple baterias usted tendra que actualizarlas todas con solo dejar insertada la tarjeta de memoria que contiene la actualizacion y cambie las baterias y encienda la aeronave. Solo permita que cada una de las baterias obtengan la actualizacion no le tomara much tiempo.

    I just got a P3 Standard and it doesn't accept my SD card for some reason. It's a C10 one. When i try to format, it just fails, Any clue on a possible solution?

      Did you crash? or hard landing?

      Check plugs that allow communication between the gimbal and aircraft. Sometimes they get unplug. Just (gently) push them in with a small screwdriver. Please let me know if this worked. Another option use a new Micro SD card.

      No, it is brand new.
      *UPDATE*
      Turns out it only accepts a few seleted SD cards. I even tried to buy a new kingston 32GB C10 and that one didn't work either. My friend borrowed me the SD card he uses and it worked fine, firmware upgrade was a breeze and it records and takes photos very normally. In case some people are having the same issue, the SD card that works is a Sandisk Ultra 32 GB C10.

      You need to leave the bin file in the SD card if you have multiple batteries. The DJI smart batteries need the update too. Thank you for your support.

      Was the mobile device and DJI go app on? Was the Phantom turned on? Was the RC turned on? Do you know if there was any communication between them (aircraft and RC?? If the answer to these question is yes, please contact DJI.
