  • Why Cesc Fabregas Can Be a New Genious Coach
The Spanish coaching school continues to shock the world. Cesc Fabregas has taken Como to Serie A, and in this video, Vamosito talks about Cesc's progress, his principles of play, and why he could become Barcelona's manager very soon. Let's go!
    The first chapter
In 2022, when the news broke that Cesc Fabregas had signed a contract with Como, it came as a surprise. Despite the fact that the Spaniard was already 35 years old at the time, there was no doubt that he could have found a team in the top 5 leagues.
Instead, he chose a club in the Italian Serie B. Nevertheless, there were multiple logical explanations for this.
What convinced me most was the global project they proposed, to continue playing at a good level, to be a shareholder in the club, to live in a very nice city. I think my family will be relaxed, it’s close to Switzerland, the children can go to a Swiss school. Then I can prepare for a future as a coach, - Fabregas said.
Indeed, the combination of all these factors was a great compensation for playing at a lower level. In addition to becoming a player, Cesc received a minor share in the club and the opportunity to comfortably transition to coaching.
After playing the 2022/23 season in Serie B, the Spaniard realized that his body could no longer continue and decided to end his career in order to start coaching as soon as possible.
Last summer, after receiving a UEFA A coaching license, he took over Como U19 and B. However, Cesc stayed in this position for only a few months. In November, Como's head coach Moreno Longo was fired, and Fabregas was appointed to take his place on a temporary basis.
The fact is that Cesc did not have a UEFA pro coaching license, and according to the regulations, he was prohibited from holding the position of head coach. Fabregas was granted a temporary permit for 1 month until the club finds a new manager.
During this month, Cesc managed to impress the fans and the board. In the 5 matches when the Spaniard led the team, Como won 3 games, drew once and lost once.
After that, the Welshman Osian Roberts was appointed as the team's head coach, while Fabregas remained as an assistant. Eventually, Como won promotion to Serie A. The team returned to the elite of Italian football for the first time in 21 years.
However, it seems to be no secret that even after Roberts' appointment, Fabregas remained the team's real coach. This is evidenced by several factors.
Firstly, in addition to the head coaching position, Osian Roberts was appointed head of development at the club. Obviously, when you're fighting for promotion, you want your coach to be focused on only one job. So on paper, Roberts was a manager because he had a license, but in fact he was focused on another job, while Cesc continued to manage the team.
Secondly, we can see from all the photos and videos that appear that Fabregas is the central figure in the team.
Here we are shown how he is tensely waiting for the end of the opponents' match to confirm Como's promotion to Serie A. Here he is, not Roberts, giving a passionate speech to the team after promotion. And here is a poster that was published on social media on the official pages of Serie A, where Fabregas takes up much more space than the team's alleged head coach.
How often have you seen an assistant coach portrayed in such posters? The fact that Cesc is the actual head coach of Como is Polichinel's secret and everyone just pretends not to know it until he gets the required license.
In total, under Cesc's management, Como played 25 matches, winning 15, drawing 6 and losing 4. These results allowed the team to rise to the top of the table and secure direct promotion to Serie A.

    Cesc’s coaching ideas
Let’s have a look at what kind of a coach Cesc is and what are his ideas.
The biggest impression from listening to Fabregas talk about football is that he is definitely obsessed with the game.
Every day I watch two or three matches. I analyzed the games we played at Como, where I spent the last season of my career, and I played games with myself. What would I do if I was the coach? How would my team play and how would I react to certain situations? - Cesc says.
As you can see, the Spaniard started preparing himself for coaching before finishing his career.
I try to have phone calls with people who have been in the game for a long time. My aim is to improve, so I want to talk and debate. I want to take ideas from people around me. This is something I’m really passionate about. In my career as a player, I worked under Arsène Wenger, Pep Guardiola, José Mourinho, Antonio Conte, Luis Aragonés and Vicente del Bosque. I’ve been very, very lucky, - Fabregas shares.
Indeed, intelligence plus love for football plus a desire to improve plus experience working with the best.

Dont want him to rush himself , take his time and gain experience, perfect his philosophy and then he must first prove himself at a big club other than barca. Then we will accept him with love , we still love him tho
